  1. Here is why:

On my birth certificate my middle name appears to be my mother's middle name when she was single, and since she was married to my father supposed to by my middle name is going to be her last name and not her middle name at all. I never used my mother's name, and only used my father's last name as my middle name after i got married, i got married in the Philippines. By the way, before i got married i had to correct my middle name and infact it is noted on my birth cert., my question is do i have to include submitting those papers when i corrected my middle name or a birth certificate is enough support?

  2. If you can prove (through your copies of the I-485 application) that the error was on their part, they will send a new GC for free (after you file for a replacement.) I don't know how quickly it will be but it will be free. If it is due to an error on the application, they will charge for a corrected GC.

All my papers from the beginning have the same middle name on my work permit/ssn but i dont know what happened on this one. File for a replacement? You mean the I-190? Even if you call them on phone and report about the error, do i still have to file a I-190 form?

  3. Yes we tried to give a call today and it was a voicemail , left a message and hopefully to hear them sometime tomorrow and if not we will keep calling and if there is still no luck we might will just go to that place as early as we can. That is good love to go to the asian store too might will check that one out ;-)

  4. Does anyone from Georgia who will be renewing their passport this coming March 27, 2011 where the Philippine Embassy Washington D.C. to conduct consular services in the said area??? Have you made any appointment yet? Any responds would really be appreciated, i really need some informations about this. Thanks!

  5. I renewed my passport 11 months before its expiration when the Consulate had their outreach here in Atlanta,I do not want to go to DC and spend hrs. of travel for a $50 passport and i did'nt had any problem.

That is great, i guess i will try to give them a call today and see if it is possible for me to do it. Thanks!

  6. Yes, Its possible for you to renew it even though its not going to expire too soon. I just did mine and my passport is expiring in 2013, so its going to be in my married name. Goodluck!!

That is good to know but my passport right now is already on my married name. I just want to take the chances that they will be in the next state than waiting on december and driving to Washington D.C for about 9-10 hrs, really hope it works.

  7. Hi all,

I dont know if this is the right place to post this one. But this is concerned about expiring and renewing my passport. ( As of feb 28, 2011 ) The Philippine Embassy Washington D.C to condut consular services in the next state where i live on march 27, 2011. This is an opportunity for me to apply but my passport wont expire until feb 2012. My question is, is it possible to apply 11 months before expiration? Does anyone has an idea? Would appreciate it, thanks!

  8. hello everyone.my mom was done at her interview but her NBI was expired by this time so they didn't give her the visa so I was wondering after she send her missing document how long will it take for them to give the visa?is there someone in her situation like this.how do we know they receive the document?is there a website to check on it? thanks for your time and good luck to everyone waiting for their interview and still on the process..God bless

Hi..; In my case it was NBI too but it was not about expiration; instead it was the A.K.A, had my interview the 21st of may. Then, I personally submitted the said document on the 26 to the Embassy. And, received my visa june 6!

  9. NBI clearance with AKA notation is what you will submit since you are married; it must display your current married name and your single name.

If an applicant has been previously married, the previous married name must also appear.

Ok got it just a bit confused with aka notation.

  10. No, I meant my NBI. That is one of my questions if the NVC will ask for my NBI. We are I think pushing through Cr1 since K3 is dead now. About the AKA annotation, that's what marriedtomrg said.

I dont know they keep saying k-3 is dead now but i am on k-3 just had interview this year and got approved(long story about mine). Well there are more advantages on cr1 and less costs.I think nbi clearance is save for the interview in manila only.

  11. That means, I'll get 2 copies? One for husband and one for me? Or I'll just get mine later when it's near my interview date?

Since I'm going to Cebu, I'll inquire if I can get an NBI with AKA notation. How do you call that by the way? Hehe. Or I'll just basically say that?

I hope they allow it in Cebu. It will be costly for me later if I'll go to Manila just to get that kind of NBI clearance.

I am starting to collate the requirements for NVC so that when my husband gets the NOA2, I will just mail it to him. And I can just mail it here in Leyte through LBC.

Did the NVC require for your husband's NBI? What do you mean inquire an nbi with AKA, did you have error of your name on your nso ?

  12. I believe you can get your nbi anywhere in the phils, that time i was in manila for my interview they were asking me to get another nbi clearance with alias because had some error on my nso before which i have it corrected already, but anyway when i asked the consul he told me that i can get it manila (am from cebu).
