  1. KRISTIN!!!!!!!!!

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

    Congrats!!!!! sooooo happy!!!!

I would love to hear the kinds of questions they asked!!! :)

BUT CONGRATULATIONS! so excited for both of you...actually 3 of you!!!

Thank you, Marie :D Needless to say I am incredible happy about it, we all are!

They didn't ask any questions about us being engaged or wedding plans, not even anything about our relationship - even though this visa is all about marriage. Instead they asked: - When we met? -If the online site we met on was a dating site? After telling her it was not a dating site, but a gaming site, she continued to ask me if it was a traditional dating site.. go figure  Eventually she let it go and asked me where (not when) we met in person for the first time. If he's been married before? (I had already given the divorce decree, so obviously ;) ) If he got any other children 'anywhere' beside our son? His daughter's age? The city she lives in? If she lives with his ex-wife? If we plan on continuing the parenting plan regarding having her every other week? What year our son was born in? If I plan on working? My education? Why he's been here more often than I've been in the US? The officer continued to ask about the 'unbalance' in visits to Norway vs visits to the US for a little while. Why none of his relatives never have visited in Norway? How many times he's been in Norway? Where he stays during his visits here? When I plan to move to the US if the visa is granted?

Suddenly, in between all the questions and out of context she asked me 'Who's "John"?' Seeing how Wade still got until after the summer to finish his degree in college, we're using a co-sponsor and "John" is the name of the co-sponsor. I thought it was odd to ask about him in the middle of talking about Wade's travels here, and she never asked me who the co-sponsor is, my relation to this person or even used his full name. Only the sudden question of 'Who's John?' So I explained who he was and his relation to Wade, and then she dropped it and went on to asking about why we waited so long to do this process. It was obviously a subject of interest seeing how she went on asking about it for a while.

I think that was about it, and the whole thing took about 20 minutes or so. She also told me not to open the closed envelope they'll be sending me. She explained to me how it's marked with 'Do not open' all over the thing, yet some people still open it  The officer also said to make sure I leave about 3 hours for immigration if my POE will be in any other city but Seattle seeing how I should leave enough time to get to my connecting flight.

So how's your case moving along? Is your fiance getting nervous/anxious/excited about his upcoming medical and interview? It can't be that far away

  2. They didn't ask a single question regarding my son, kinda weird but ahh.. It all turned out good in the end, so I am happy! So how are you doing? Any temporary plans of when you think Dave might have his POE?

How is your son dealing with everything? I am glad that he was able to come to the interview and see it all in action, and then will have Christmas with your family. Are any of your family members going to visit in Seattle soon?

Dave continues to make fun of me for trying to make plans. One month OR MORE from getting his visa is the only thing he can agree to. Not sure I can even see him coming some days.

My son's pretty excited about going, I don't think he quite understands it also means he will have to leave some family and friends over here. He can be fairly emotional so I think it will kick in for him soon enough, right now I'm just trying to keep him happy and excited about going. He actually enjoyed being at the embassy although he said, and I quote, 'they were slow like snails' I'm not sure whether or not anyone from my family will be heading to the US soon, my parents are they kind who could announce their arrival within a month and just show up.. so we'll see.

I can't help but smile when I hear about you and Dave, it's too cute really :D I just don't understand why he won't make any plans, you guys are SO close - and it's even more amusing (well to us, not you prolly, lol) to hear about how he's teasing you about it. I think I'd settle for a month (not the MORE part!) if I were you

  3. Guys, guys, guys! You're the best! Thank you for all the well wishes and sweet words, that's really cute

Congrats!! Did you take your kid with you or was it just you that was required to interview? Did you have to hand over both passports?

Aww thanks, Jewel! I did bring him along because it was required. They never talked to him, but they did ask for both of the passports. I'm interested in seeing how his will look compared to mine. I'll just have to be patient and wait until next week to find out I guess :innocent: They asked me far more questions about Wade's daughter, actually. They didn't ask a single question regarding my son, kinda weird but ahh.. It all turned out good in the end, so I am happy! So how are you doing? Any temporary plans of when you think Dave might have his POE?

  4. Guys, guys, guys! You're the best! Thank you for all the well wishes and sweet words, that's really cute

I left yesterday afternoon and had my interview today at 10 am.. and tum, dum, ta! It was approved! (L) (L) (L)

I am sooo happy, we both are! It was such a nerve-wrecking experience but boy was it worth going through it all. I'm feeling horrible tired after being out and about for more than 24 hours but then I decided to run by VJ to give you guys an update. Before even telling my own family about it :D

Not sure how much I should elaborate, but all in all it was a pretty decent experience. I got in line early to make sure I had enough time, but I still had to wait until 10:30 or so before they called me. They did a screening of the documents before telling me wait some more. At no point did they ask to see any of the proof I brought with me regarding us being engaged, our relationship being genuine or latest visit. It took about ten minutes to hand over the papers, the officer receiving them was nice and polite.. then I waited, and waited, and waited.. I swear it was the longest wait :sleepy: About two hours later I was called again and another officer asked me questions. Norway is a no/low fraud country with few problems regarding cases like this, and I believe Wade and I got a strong case, so I was surprised by the amount of questions I got. What made me a bit uncertain was how the officer never replied to any of my answers, she just skipped to the next round of questions.. but finally she gathered all the documents and told me everything looks good and I would recieve the package with my visa in mail sometime next week :luv:

So now I am feeling really tired but so happy, YAY! We just booked tickets and I am set to leave on dec 28th. I'm going to celebrate New Years with my baby, and I can't wait to see him again!

How's everyone else doing? I feel I've missed out on so much even though I've only been gone a little while, lol.

  5. So, finally after 4 and a half months of waiting, we got the approval today, FINALLY! sheesh, not easy after going through the RFE and contacting congressman. He called CSC for two times, just for us, really appreciate his help. :) thanks for your support. So now, NVC? Hope that things will get better this time!

    Good luck to ALL!! :P

YAY! Congratulations on the NOA2, you must be so excited. Did you sleep well? :D

I think NVC and the rest of your process will be much quicker, it usually is. Just buckle down and get ready for the rest of your ride

  6. hey everyone... just catching up on everything! I've been away for a little while! Good to see most people are progressing!

Just to give you a little update with our situation... I had my medical on the 9th Nov.. was nothing too intense apart from the fact I always have high blood pressure reading when going to the doctor so have had to have a referral.. my docotor has replied so hopefully that will be cleared up now. The same thing happened to me a long time ago and when I went and had it montored it was perfect! Not sure why I get like that..

I sent my packet 3 off around 10/11th but still nothing back.. is there any way I can check up on this?

anyway.. I hope everything continues to go smotthly for you all!! It's not long before we'll be with our loved ones!! :-) plus Sarah is here next month for Christmas!! It will have been 6 months apart.. we've not done that before! I cant wait to smash up my webcam when I get there!! :-)

Happy to hear everything's on track with you guys. I'm sure you'll have your medical approved now that you got your referral, I wouldn't worry too much :) Sounds like you'll have a great christmas! I'm hoping for (a permanent) New Years with Wade this year (L)

Skype, headset, e-mail and general technology will seriously be taking a hike for a long while once we're done with this :D

  7. Ohhh I love all the good news!! It was so quiet here the other day, it seems as if it was only quiet before the storm kicked in. I am sooo happy for everyone, even though I know not everyone has their NOA2 yet, so I'm still waiting for the final news from everyone (F)

Marie, Marie, Marie! It was so nice to read about your touch and before I could finish reading all the unread posts here, I also got to read about your NOA2. I am so excited for you!! I hope you slept peacefully even though you seemed too excited to fall asleep perhaps :D What did your fiancè say? He must be so thrilled too! I bet you'll have a quick interview date for him and soon, soon, soon you will be together

Kitty & LoveWaits, congratulations with 2 x visa! I am so happy for you both (or all four of you, lol!) Some months ago we were all sitting here waiting for our NOA2s and it is so incredible nice to see the first visas being issued. Now I'm just waiting for the rest of us to follow! Anyway, good luck with the rest of your journey - what an incredible feeling it must be to know it's a done deal and you'll soon see your loved ones (L)

  8. Hey, I've been told (by e-mail) that I should now book my medical, but the London Embassy has not yet given me an exact date for my interview, just that it would take about 6-8weeks. London is a 5 hour drive and I wanted to know if it's possible to get my medical on the same day as my interview (has anyone else done that?) and how do I go about arranging that?

Hello, I would ask any consulate specific question in the forum for the UK. You'll find a heap of people there who have/are dealing with the exact same questions you have now. You can find them here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showforum=99

    Good luck!

  9. Damo just left his medical! yay! They almost sent him out without doing everything, and he had to remind them he needed this xrays and blood work lol. Because of this forum, we knew what we needed and got it done! woohoo! They said he could pick them up in the next few days, i feel so much better that he got it done and so does he! lol.

YAY! I'm so happy for you guys and glad it wasn't the experience he was worried about earlier :D

Just hang on tight to those x-rays, for some weird reason we need to travel with them. One step closer for you guys being together for good

  10. Hey guys, another week is upon us so I am crossing my fingers for everyone who's still waiting for their NOA2. It must be such a dreadful waiting time, just hang in there, guys, your turn will come too!

I'm also enjoying reading about everyone's plans and thoughts around the whole process. Getting to NOA2 is such a huge goal in itself, and once you're there, you realize there is a whole bunch of steps and waiting time left even so. All we ever do is wait.. I told Wade today how I'd like to pull the bear act, and just slumber until all of this is over and I can just jump to the POE :D

Have a good day everyone! I (L) all of you julyers!

  11. I agree.

I would doublecheck all your paperwork just to be safe, but I would resign in a felt tip pen or blue ink so it stands out.

Good luck! We got an RFE too, so don't worry it happens to many people. :star:

Thanks everyone for all your advice! Sent it back in, all signatures in blue ink now, crossing my fingers.

Good luck! Hopefully they'll pick up your case quickly :D

  12. Thanks, Kristin! We're so very excited! :)

He's (hopefully) flying over (fingers crossed) on Dec. 15th. Can you tell that this process has made me a tad superstitious? Every statement made is accompanied by an homage and sacrifice to the visa Gods. And we're getting married on Dec. 30th.

So yes, if all goes according to plan (knock on wood) we will be together for Christmas. :) I'm not allowing myself to get as excited as I want to about that.

What about you? Are you over the moon excited and thrilled and all that? Or still too stressed to be at that point?

Dec 30th sounds wonderful, gives him about two weeks to get rid of the jet lag and settle in some :D I know what you mean by not allowing yourself to feel too excited about any solid dates or otherwise, I'm the same way. We have some dates in mind but I don't dare making solid plans until I hopefully have that visa on hand.

I think at this point I'm mostly anxious and nervous about the interview. I think we have a strong case, but I got all the 'what if's' playing tricks on me. I just wish I could fast forward time.. by two weeks so it would be a done deal, lol. Oh well.. nothing to do but wait I guess.. and drive myself mad at that

I'll sure be keeping my fingers crossed for you guys, you only have 2 and a half week left

  13. We got our interview date today as well!

    Dec. 4th, 8:30am!! :D:dance::D

Jewel, they got our P3 on Nov. 6th - so DON'T GIVE UP HOPE. EVER EVER EVER. (L)

I can't stop crying. joy, excitement, gratitude and hope. Not out of the woods yet, by any means. Won't exhale until I'm hugging him in front of the airport. But such HOPE!!

Awesome, awesome! I will be thinking of you guys on the 4th - not that far away from now

You guys are so close and I can see why you're both anxious and excited, so many emotions to go through! So if Neil gets his approval on the 4th, are you guys planning on being together for Christmas or will he be waiting for a while before coming over? Any plans yet? (Yes, I am Curious George, lol)

@ Jules, YAY! Tickets, and congrats on scoring the last seat available :D I am sure you had a hard time picking your seat with all the options left, haha! But important thing is you'll soon see him and that's all what matters! I'm so excited for you, hopefully it will line up nicely with the interview

  14. Boy the embassy can be jerks!

They told Tamara that she gets her Visa but they need one more little form

That shows why she went from her maiden name to her married name

    Can you believe it?

Like the birthcertificate and married certificate and devorce decree doesn't show this??

SO this poor lady now has to travel back to Odessa by train go to her city hall get this little form then travel back to Kiev on Sunday and give this form to this Embassy and then they will release her Visa! (L)

Wonderful news, I am so happy for you guys! I can see why it would add some stress to her regarding the extra form, but she got approved and you will be together very soon - in the end that's all what matters (L)

  15. I'm off work today for Veteran's Day myself, and I thought that was a good thing. But now I don't know since I've been awake and anxious since 7am!

Neil's medical is in about 30 minutes. I can only imagine what I'll be like on interview day!

Oh Nancy, I am sure he will do fine! I can understand why you're feeling anxious though, I thought I was going to faint before my own medical! I'll be thinking of you guys and keeping my fingers crossed for it - I'm sure he'll do great! Keep up posted as soon as you know/can

  16. :dance::dance::dance:

Thank God for American Holidays In Ukraine

Tamara called me and the problem is fixed and she just passed her medical exam!!!

Tomorrow she goes for her interview :dance::dance:

I am so confused...? But in this case my confusion is good seeing how I assumed things were a lot worse than they appear now. I am so happy she passed her medical, well done and I will think of her tomorrow morning!

.. still confused, LOL but also so happy for you guys. Soon you'll be with her!!

  17. Thanks

But I canceled the interview this afternoon

    Am sorry guys

Things just did not pan out

    Good luck to everyone!

I'm so sorry to hear that :(

I was just thinkin of you two and decided to log in here to see if there was any updates on the medical.. I don't even know what to say, and I can't imagine how you must feel. I would like to add, like the rest, that we're here to listen if you want to talk and if not, just know you got our support. I'm so sorry about the whole thing and hope you'll feel better soon.

    - Kristin

  18.

Tamara Travels by train today to Kiev with her mother

Tomorrow morning or tonight in Alaska, she has her medical exam.

And then tomorrow night in Alaska is her interview!!

Keeping our fingers crossed that everything goes right!!

I was just talking to Wade about you guys today, I'm on a similar time schedule as she is, so I will surely keep her in my thoughts when I get up tomorrow! Let us know as soon as you can how everything went.. good luck!! :D

  19. FINALLY we got approved for the K1 visa!! the file was in the embassy since April and we just got approved on November 6th!! I called Dept of State before a day and they told me it was approved but didnt believe until they called my fiance to go get his passport! it has been a year since I applied for his visa its been a longgggggggggggg Journey

Thank you all for all your support here and hopefully all of you will reunite with the one you love <3

Aww congratulations! At least your long wait was not in vain and soon you'll be together

  20. Thanks Kristin. We were pretty down last night as we watched the ticket prices get all the way to 2400 on the dates that we wanted me to come over. But today I had a strange discovery. I was checking the V Australia airlines website, and if I fly over on the 29th of this month, and return on december the 13th, it is only going to cost $1335 for my round trip ticket! I should have the money by friday to purchase it, I'm really hoping the prices stay where they are. I was shocked, then Damo goes,"oh my god, that means ill see you in 2 and half weeks lol." I so so hope that it stays. It means that we will be together for our anniversary for the first time. And its our 3rd. Funny everything happens to me has to do with the number 3. :star:

Ohh nice, that's a $1000 knockdown on the tickets! I'm so happy for you, and now I will send lots and lots of good vibes to you for friday. 2 and half week huh? If so you will need to update your ticker, it's on a 1 month+ count right now :D I usually pay attention to what everyone's tickers says, lol. I can't wait to replace mine with one that says x amount of days until POE..! First I have an interview to pass though
