  1. Congrats, Resha :) And hello to Lovewaits and T&G - so happy to hear that you're together with the one you love.

Wanted to let you guys know that Neil got his passport from the courier today with the almighty visa inside.

He'll be here on the 15th, SIX DAYS.

    I still can't believe it!!

Amazing! I bet you guys are so stocked about everything x) Six days will go by so quickly, especially after going through all of this. So his he all packed down and ready to leave or does he still have a few odds and ends to wrap up? Wonderful news, tell him we're all wishing him a safe flight HOME! (F)

Aaaand congrats on the medical, Resha~Adnan, soon it's interview time! I'm sure he'll do great in there!

  2. Hey guys! Yes Jewel I'm on here again! But Damo is at work, so there. hehe. I have nothing to do atm, its raining outside. So I'm here ;) I'm trying not to think about leaving saturday, but its always there in the back of your mind. Atleast I can tell myself that this is for sure the last time I have to leave him.

Anyways, Yesterday was wonderful. We drove up to Healesville Sanctuary to see all the animals. I actually got to pet a baby Koala, oh he was so cute! I have tons of beautiful pictures. We went out to dinner to an Indian restaurant, omg it was heaven. Talk to you all later!

    Jules

Hi again, Jules! I'm always happy to see you here, so please come by whenever you can! I know Damo's working during the week days so I imagine you got some time kill before he gets home. I know saturday will be rough, just stay strong and remember it's the last time you'll have to do that. I want to pet baby Koalas as well!!! Actually, I really want the summer you got over there - bring some of it to cold, rainy Norway! Moving to Seattle won't exactly be a climate shocker to put it that way :D Have fun, hun!

  3. Hey July Filers!!!!!! Congratulations for all the approvals and interview dates!!! So great to come on here and seeing everyone coming together.

I haven't been on in a week because she is finally here and after 6 months of Skype/webcams we haven't wanted to look at a computer :) Its just absolutely wonderful to be a family, to come home to her smiling face every day. As much of a struggle and emotional rollercoaster the process is, it was worth every single second. She is off today with my mom having her dress fitting, she was bouncing around all excited that she gets to try on her dress. What a Christmas it is going to be, not only will we spend it together, we will be married on the 26th. What a way to end the year!

Again, Congratulations to everyone and I wish everyone all the best! Keep all your stories coming because it really is great to hear about all the couples coming together.

Tamara and I get married Friday the 18th of December

Congradulation to everyone and thier success

Oh wow, so great to read this! I am so excited for you!! It must be so nice being together and to be able to see each other whenever you want to.. and not to have a phone or computer between you. I can't tell you how sick I am from being on the phone, so this was really nice reading :D I'd love to hear more about how they're adjusting to things, both Katia and Tamara. Please share if you're up for it, I'm sure more people besides me would want to hear all about it! And good luck with the upcoming weddings - such a nice Christmas gift (L)

  4. I'm so sorry for you! I would had been scared to death if that was me!! I have no doubts that it had to do with the fact that your guy is an Iraqi, (living in Sweden.) I don't know what to say.... It's just so... wow...

Hopefully this wont happen to me, cuz I know I will start to cry.... or pee my pants....! I'm a blonde, green eyed Swede though.. I guess nothing like this will happen to me!

    Good luck Bridget and Alen!!!

I would not worry much. Just like others mentioned before, it's a fluke when something like that happens in Sweden - very much like when it happens in Norway (your neighbours ;D ) However, I assume even low fraud consulates have their odd cases. I've had contact with someone in my own country who experienced extra hardship but that was due to an unusual case compared to the ones normally passing through the consulate. I'm pretty sure you'll be saved from crying, or getting your pants wet. Good luck!

  5. Happy Anniversary Jules & Damo! You know what they say, good things come in threes and here you are. Finally together for an anniversary (L)

Zahid, I'm so happy everything worked out with your visa - you guys must be so relieved! Soon you'll have it on hand and be ready to see your sweetheart! Any plans for when you might do the big move? Are you thinking this month, next or in a while?

How's Star's interview coming along? I am sure your fiance will do well in there, now we just need the good news :DResha~Adnan's fiance is also in for his medical. Any news yet?? Ohh this could be a real good day seeing how we might get another visa and medical approval coming in. Going to keep my fingers crossed for everyone! (not to mention the last remaining NOA2s to come along!)

Jewel, YAY! Finally an interview date - you must be so thrilled about it. I take it the postal service is finally doing its job in the UK again :D

So how's everyone dealing with Christmas and all of the preparations for it in the middle of the whole immigration process? I'm having a hard time not letting everything be consumed by the idea of moving to the US and being with my honey - but it's hard not to

  6. well i had a talk with one of the guys who works at the passport office and he told me he will help me in getting a duplicate passort within a week and the validity of of the passport will be normal 10 years. He said everything in the duplicate passport will be the same as it was in my old passport eccept the passport number. I dont know if that will be accpeted by the embassy :(

Hmm well that's a tough cookie to answer. I know they take your passport number twice, once for the medical apps and once for the applications you just handed in now. I had an error in something I filled out along with my forms, following the advice of a veteran member here, but the consulate in Norway just erased what I wrote and corrected it for me. I don't know if they're equally easy to deal with in Mumbai but hopefully there won't be too much complications and things will be sorted out. I got a good feeling about you guys, and will be crossing my fingers for a speedy Visa!

Jules; you sound so happy! And in love - and happy!! I'm having some hardship with being away from Wade for so long, so it was incredible nice to get your update and a feel of you two together  So happy for you, Jules! It's all about trying to squeeze out as much as possible from the days you got left and hooray! You got an interview day! I'll be waiting for the good news  Tell Damo we said hi, or better yet; Hi Damo!! (if you're reading this over her shoulder that is, lol)

  7. No news yet and we are quickly appraoching their magical 5 month processing time. I really don't see why it is taking this long. We are trying to keep a good attitude and just take each day as it comes.

I can't see why it would be taking this long either, but hopefully you'll hear something soon. I'm glad to see you're both trying to be positive about it, even though it must be hard. I think if it was me, I'd be cracking up long time ago :innocent: You'll get there eventually though, and in the end it's all worth it to be with the one you love! At least everything is usually a lot more speedy once you get through this step

well it takes minumum of 3 months to get a new passport in kashmir. but there is one service known as Tatkal service in which the applicant gets the passport in a weeks time and the validity of that passport is only one year. i am not sure if i apply for that service, are the embassy people going to accept that passport becuase of its short validity. My passport is also water stained.

I believe it would be okay for you to travel with a passport that will expire after one year. The general rule is to apply with a passport that will 'have at least 6 months validity beyond the issuance date of the visa' Each consulate can be a tad different regarding what they will and won't accept, though. Do you have any way of getting easy in touch with them? Phone or email? It's something they should be able to give you a quick and exact reply to. At least it seems as your interview went well otherwise. Now to straighten out the passport issue and off you go! :star:

  8. [Oh, I'm strangely more awake now, go figure!

Well, the next step is to actually get it into his hot lil hands. That takes "3 to 5 business days". Notice I use the famous US govt quotation marks there. Some folks on the UK thread are getting them in a few days, others have been waiting over a week or longer. Assuming he gets in time, he's going to come on the 15th of this month. The wedding is January 16.

Oh Boy, I'm like some excited puppy, haha! I get so happy and silly when reading about everyone's plans. Immigration is all I can think of nowadays so thank you for sharing your experiences, it's great! The consulate in Norway told me it would take 2 business days, although I ended up waiting a week for it. However, it was thanksgiving weekend so I guess it wasn't too bad. I think the visa looked a bit funny compared to what I thought it would look like, lol, it is for sure the most important piece of document I got right now! Only a couple of more weeks until you see Neil - how precious is that?! (L)

  9. I'm here - here I am! lol

NEIL GOT APPROVED!!!!!!

I tried to get some more sleep (didn't really happen) since I have to work tonight. Neil texted me at 6:30 this morning to tell me! He said it was easy, they only asked a few questions. He was kept entertained by the fact that Martin Kemp from Spandau Ballet was in front of him in line to get a visa.

Although, as tired as he is, he may have been hallucinating that part.

I have to thank you guys - all of you. Kristin, how sweet to come here and see how much we've been on your mind today, made me feel so good. Marie, you've been such a great friend to me through this whole process. Everyone in this group - don't know how I would have possibly made it without you guys. I truly cannot wait until we are all feeling this moment.

Zahid, I'm sorry about your passport. I hope you find a solution soon. I know you will, I know that nothing will stop your love.

oh WOW Nancy, I am so happy for you guys! I can see why you couldn't sleep, and such good news to receive when you woke up. YAY, another julyer ready for the big move. I'm so glad his interview was easy, hopefully it'll set the tone for the next upcoming interviews here in our group. Such excellent news and what a great way of starting the weekend! I was nearly chanting 'c'mon, c'mon, c'mon' when I saw your reply in the thread, while waiting for the browser to navigate me to it, LOL. Awww - I'm so happy for you two lovebirds :D So any idea when he will leave the UK now? I'll try not to bombard you with too many questions, you both must be tired (but happy!!) from all of this!

  10. Thanks again Zahid and Star :D I'm just wondering how things went for Nancy and Neil, who got their interview today. I can't do anything but send lots of good vibes in their direction until we hear something :luv:

Regarding your NOA2, Zahid, I believe it's good for four months after it's approved. However, the consulate can extend the expiration date on it and it should not take too long time to get your passport back to them - hopefully! When Wade and I did the paperwork for our son to get his citizenship (birth abroad) Wade had damage on his passport due to water stains and so he had to come up with a new one before they would finish everything. They did push back our deadline for submitting all the papers and hopefully the consulate you're dealing with is also willing to be helpful with your passport replacement. Do you know how long it will take for you to get your hands on a new one? Oh and the part II of the DS-230 were not taken from me either, I had to actually ask them if they would want it along with everything else. The officer hesitated for a moment before taking it :innocent: Anyway, good luck with everything. I'm sure it will all be sorted out in the end!

  11. :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

We went to the interview this morning, and we were there at 6am and out the door at 9am. A very nice lady interview us (she let me stay with my sweetheart), she ask very few questions to Ann, and ask me what I did for work, and what happen between me and my ex before, then said Congrats you have been approved and welcomed Ann to the US. We will have a nice dinner tonight and then wait for the Visa to arrive to go to the US, currently planned for Dec 26th

I hope all that are waiting for NOA2 get very soon, and those going to interviews, also best of luck

Congratulations, YAY - another approval and soon you guys will be together in the US (L)

Ann's lucky for having you there for her interview, I remember wishing Wade was with me for mine. It seems as if you had a quick/smooth interview with not too many questions though? Anyway, I am super happy for you guys, have a nice flight back!

got a new date for 17th today :-) the day before sarah arrives!! wooohooo!!

Aw Sean, I am so happy everything turned out good. It must have been a bad feeling to realize you 'missed' the interview but at least you got a new one scheduled fairly quick. We're talking about the 17th of this month, or? You can finally take a deep breath, lol, and just wait for the big day now. As waiting for the interview isn't nerve wrecking enough, you had to throw in a little extra excitement for us all :jest:

So how's everyone doing? Getting ready for medical, interviews and such? Who else might be waiting for their NOA2 still?

  12. Hey everyone! Im now down under with my sweety, well he is at work at the moment, but thats ok i get to see him this afternoon hehe. I landed yesterday, and got tons of cuddles. So I'm getting spoiled for the next two weeks, they say i have to rest the whole time, but I think I might walk up and buy some groceries and have dinner ready for him when he gets home ;). The flight was horrendous, took me 25 hours to get here, so jetlag is ####### lol. Just wanted to drop in and say hi, and let you guys know I got here safe.

    Hugs!

    Jules

YAY YAY YAY - you're finally with him! I am super happy for you guys! Sorry to hear about your jetlag but I bet it's worth it to be with him. Just one more flight home and then you don't have to deal with that anymore. It'll be you two - always :D I'm so glad to hear from you, I thought for sure we wouldn't hear anything for a while. Just make sure you enjoy yourself, stock up on those cuddles for sure!

  13. i didn't even think we needed to send the original noa2 to the fiance for the embassy?

i thought we keep the original for the aos.

Actually - i got a copy in the mail and attorney got the original.

So now that i'm doing the rest of the journey without an attorney - I thought I should have the attorney send me the original and I can send the official copy to fiance.

I have been working on typing all the forms this weekend ..no fun! but at the same time kind of fun bc it means we are closer to being together!!!!

Well it says in the guides to mail the NOA2 to your fiance, for him to bring it with him to the interview. I had our NOA2 with me, but it was never asked for.. so I'm taking it with me to the US for our AOS. I think I'd want a copy with me to the interview though, better safe than sorry, don't you think? :star:

Oh and I hear you on the forms.. they're NO fun at all. It's all worth it in the end though, one step closer to being with him :luv:

  14. So guys! I was thinking of New Years celebration this year. Can anyone enlighten me how the kids spend the holiday in the US? In Norway we have big events and lots of stuff for the kids to do, but it seems to me the US don't have any of these traditions. What's the kids up to during New Years Eve? I am helpless.. clueless.. lol

All the adults go out and party. Then they drive home drunk. ;)

So to keep the kids off the road I usually will let the cousins sleep over and provide movies, sparkling non-alc cider, and NOISEMAKERS!!! Here we can also light off the very small fireworks. But fireworks seem like too much trouble most the time.

*faint* Really? That's pretty much like Wade told me.. and I hate to have to tell him he was right, LOL! I was hoping to find some secret part of the child culture in the US that he's missed, haha. So.. nothing for the kids except for what you create yourself. Hm.. that'll be something for my oldest one to adjust to, that's for sure. Thanks for the reply, I was thinking Wade was clueless too

  15. ahhh ok.. well that makes me feel a little better! they need a kick up the bum then! :-)

I was just speaking to someone else dealing with London, who also mentioned how slow they are. I wouldn't worry too much about there being anything wrong, although I would probably be impatient as heck if it was me

  16. anybody with any information yet?

    Hello,

I would ask in the specific forum for your consulate, you'll find a lot of people who can answer your question over there. I had to submit the form before my interview in a single envelope, but that was for my consulate and I believe every consulate differes when it comes to how they do things. You'll find the forum for India over here; http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showforum=91

    Good luck!

  17. WELL I THINK TO STAY TILL MY CARD IS READY (AND FOREVER AND EVER (L) ):) AFTER THIS ILL GO BACK TO MY COUNTRY TO SEE MY PARENTS ...BUT I'VE BEEN THINKING IF THIS PEOPLE WHO WILL CHECK MY PASSPORT AND DOCUMENTATIONS CAN REFUSE ME TO ENTER THE U.S. IF I DON'T HAVE A TWO WAY TICKET :(

They will not refuse you entry if you only have a one-way ticket. I'm going to travel on a one-way ticket as well next month. Worry not! :)

Congratulations on your visa and good luck on your trip over!

I second that. She is getting a one-way ticket and will consider a 2-way ticket only if it is MUCH cheaper

because she is planning to be at her son's university graduation in July.

She didn't buy her ticket yet but we are discussing that now as I'm typing this.

WOW THIS THE LAST THING...I DON'T GET TI...

FROM ALL UR ANSWERS I THINK DAT IT'S - OK- IF I TRAVEL WITH A ONE WAY TICKET RIGHT?

AND AFTER WE MARRY AND I GET MY GREEN CARD I CAN TRAVEL BACK WITHOUT PROBLEMS...

Yes, travel with the one way ticket!

  19. Everything is going great and we are both so excited, but he is a bit nervous about the interview :)! We submitted all the documents as our consulate requires us to do tha before the interview and now just waiting for the big day. I am sure he will do fine, but the waiting for the big day is so difficult. I don't want to get over confident about it either. Its so hard, but trying to stay calm and positive. I just want him to be here soon!

Oh I know exactly what you mean, Star. I had a good feeling about our case, yet I didn't want to assume we'd get the visa just like that. I always tell myself it's better to be pleasant surprised rather than ending up completely disappointed. Having that said, I'm sure he will do fine! You both have waited so long now, and I am sure you're over prepared for the big day! In a couple of weeks you'll know for sure, I bet the days are going by real slow at this point :D Any plans of when he will relocate to the US? Yes - I am curious, lol!

  20. Kristin!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG yayayayayayyayy!!!!!!!! This is what I get for cooking last night and this morning, I missed all the good news as soon as it broke lol! I cant wait for you to be here! My daughter Emma started cheering when I told her about your approval, she said, yay I'm gonna have new friends to play with lol. Oh I'm so happy for you two!

We are still waiting on Damo's medical results, but as soon as they are in hand we can send p3 back, ugh. Hopefully he will get them today, but there is no hope for me being at the interview. Oh well, atleast I get to see him for two weeks. I fly out tomorrow, so there will be a posting black out for me atleast for 3 days hehehe. I cant believe I get to see him on saturday! Stupid thing is it actually only hit me today that I'm leaving tomorrow. I havent packed a thing yet  .

    Anyways, Congrats X's a million! (L) (L) (L)

    Jules

Ohh I know, I know! I don't blame you for being busy cooking, you got the big day to prepare for. We don't celebrate it here but I sure know what it's like to prepare for stuff like that so I can only imagine how you must have your hands full! Emma is too sweet, really, I can't wait to meet all of you guys. It's still weird to me how we got kids in the exact same age range, I'm sure they'll have a lot of fun together. I know we will!! Wade's daughter would love to have some girls to play with seeing how I only got the boys here

I'll be thinking of you guys when you fly out to see Damo, you must be so excited to finally be with him again! Tell him I said hi from Norway - soon Seattle, whoo hoo! Time for you to start packing :D Have a safe flight to Australia!

Congrats! I am glad it went smoothly. It's strange that they never ask the questions that we are expecting. Pretty soon you will have your visa in your hand and you will be here. Yay!!!!!!!!

Thank you, Star! I still have to pinch myself to realize it's all done and I can only lean back and wait for the visa to show up. I can't wait to see Wade again and start our future together. How's everything with you and your fiancè? (L)

Ohh and Happy Thanksgiving Day everyone!
