  1. She seems to be doing better than I am at the moment. I am ready to send my congressman a reminder so that maybe something will get done soon.

I would do that for sure, don't let him drop the ball on you now. You'd think they'd approve your case soon, especially seeing how you seem to have a fairly easy case - too bad they're taking all these days off work. Go nudge your congressman regarding your petition again and hopefully we'll see some results soon! It must be torture to wait like this. Hang in there, though, there's always light in the end of the tunnel - even if it's dim at times

  2. Can I do the K1 visa myself without any legal help or visa service ?

I am a American living in California, My longtime Girlfriend is a Japanese

    we want to get married.

Absolutely, like others have said before - you can do it yourself. Just make sure you study the forms and process. There's some really great guides here, make sure you follow them and tick off everything as you go. I know of more than one case where a lawyer has made mistakes during the process, causing extra delays and frustrations! Good luck with your journey, whether you decide to use a lawyer or not

  3. Does anyone have an example of the letter that they got from their employer for the I-134? I'm not sure exactly what it needs to say. I know the information it needs, but how detailed does it have to be? Could it just say "So and So has worked here since mm/dd/yyyy, they make $ an hour, and we expect to keep them employed indefinitely?

    Thanks in Advance

I believe we found the format we ended up using somewhere here on VJ, but I can't find the link now so I'll just copy from the files I got on my computer. It's a fairly simple one, but it certainly did the trick for us!

    This is what we used:

    Letter of Employment

    (Your address)

    (Name and address of work)

    Date

    To whom it may concern

(first name, last name) has been employed full-time with the XYZ Company since 200_ as a (title of your job), and is an employee in good standing with an annual salary of $XXXX.

    Signed,

    John Doe,

    Supervisor (or whatever title)

  4. Hi AMy and Michael, I know some of the acronyms such as, POE=POINT OF ENTRY, NOA=NOTICE OF ACTION ask more and well i will try to answer, I also learned these from reading over here.

ANyways I got question for u too, asu said this reading material is QUITE intimidating, I am bit confused,

When UR filing 129-f, the proof of realtionship and other things, are submitted by u u just file the 129-f and g325, and I forgot what else.

and ur fiance has to submit the proofs?

so it it 129-f filers submits the evidence or the Fiance??

Hi Rajm, you need quite a few things to go with the I-129f and G325 forms. I suggest you take a look at the complete list here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1guide

Just follow the guide, tick off everything as you go, and you should be fine. At this point the USC (US citizen) needs to submit everything. Just make sure you get the G325, a photo, plus the letter of intent from the beneficiary to include with the I-129f petition. Good luck, I hope you'll have a smooth journey! :star:

  5. Hi Amy&Michael, and welcome to the forums!

Don't worry about the overwhelming part of it, you will get used to the madness eventually :D Your post reminds me of how I felt when I first joined, and I made it through, so don't worry - you guys will do it too! VJ has a pretty neat list over the acronyms used here if you'd like to take a look: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...page=definition

It should have most of the immigration acronyms, if not all of them. Good luck!

  6. Does anybody know if I need to send my daughters birth certificate and her pic together with the I-129F?

I am assuming your daughter will be a K2 applicant, and travel along with the K1, for the I-129f you do not need her birth cert or photo. Just make sure you list her where it asks for all of your children. You will need to bring the birth certificate and other documents for her at the consulate stage.

Good luck with your petition!

  7. Kristen you must be so excited. Less than a week to go.

Season, I believe you might be right about everyone thinking they are on holiday leave already.

Oh yes - I am super excited! I have not packed my stuff yet, LOL, I suppose I better have it wrapped up soon - there's just so much stuff I'd like to bring with me, and so little room for it. I am more than ready to board that plane and get going though! In a week from now I'll be with him (L)

So sorry your case is being so incredible slow, I can't believe they even told your congressman's office to wait for the 5M limit, I mean c'mon, there's less than a week left for that and obviously nothing has happened yet. Hopefully things will pick up again once we're done with the holidays so you can finally get your approval! How's Marina dealing with everything? :)

  8. Hi there,

I am sorry to hear that. You know what? I really think that all of the people in USCIS and NVC and whatever related departments are going on leave or in the complete holiday mood right now, so thats the reason for us to hear nothing at all. My case been approved but so far, like a month already, NVC still claim that they havent receive it. Probabaly, case lost or whatever worse that might happen...

try contacting congressman more and calling USCIS daily. I wish you all the best. Good luck.

    Season

I can't beleve either of you have not gotten to the consulate stage, it's ridiculous!! I don't understand the delays, not Steve's nor yours. NVC kept telling us it could take 3-6 weeks as well, but in reality it was there in a week or so. Seeing how that's the case with most people, I just don't see why your case would be lost somewhere for a month! I hope you've contacted your congressman as well, not to mention pestering NVC daily on the phone!

How annoying for you guys

  9. That is the greatest news in the world!!!!! Ill be buying his ticket next month, we are looking at a poe date of the last week of march, not long at all!

Last week of march is less than four months, YAY! You'll be having him with you for the spring, that is so sweet - I love that season of the year. Finally starting to get warm again, without the weather getting too hot. Perfect for long, lazy walks hand-in-hand :D I'm so happy for you, Jules. I bet you'll get a real good night's sleep now (F) Tell Damo I said hi and congrats on the Visa!

  10. Thanks Kristin! Now I have two things to look forward to, Christmas and when you get here! hehe. I cant believe that bad part is over! I still have 4 months before i see him but i just dont care, the worry is gone and i can be truly happy for the first time in 3 years! The future is bright my friends! woohoo!

Absolutely! No more worries! The worse thing about this whole process is not knowing, and now you do! :D If you can survive three years and not knowing what will happen next, you can for sure do four months when you know there's a wedding waiting for you. I'm just so thrilled for you and Damo, so happy you don't have to worry anymore - and the last Christmas we have to spend without our fiancès (L) Now you can start looking into ticket prices and get an estimated date for when he will leave Australia to be with you for good, how great is that!?

  11. Wow - such great news to find, YAY x 3!! Talk about a good day for our group, such a great Christmas gift, woohoo! You guys can finally take a deep breath and lower your shoulders for a little while. You made it so far, now all you need is for your sweeties to pick up their passports and then go grab them from the airport!! :D I'm so happy for everyone, here I was thinking mondays are always such dull days - not this one though

  12. Guys! :D This is so awesome, all of you guys are so nervous and anxious, you're making me anxious on your behalf, LOL! I am looking at the time here, and thinking most of you must have your guys in there right now - it's really happening and I bet you're not getting too much sleep tonight. It's so nervewrecking but I am sure you guys will do great!

It sucks that you'll go to AP right away, Marie, but at least you can get a report from him and a 'feel' of how he thinks it went. Just remember to keep us posted, all three of you, cause you know we're dying to know how everything went :star:

Jules folder reminds me of my own folders when I went in there. I had my old I-129f folder, a folder with the documents for the first window/pre-screening part plus a third folder with everything gathered between NOA1-interview - a bunch of stuff and out of everything, they were mostly interested in the forms. However, it's always better to be well prepared and I am sure all three of your fiances will do great in there! I'll be thinking of you guys!

  13. Tomorrow is the big day for a lot of you guys!

I'm hoping to see the thread filled with happy messages after the interviews, such an awesome Christmas gift  I bet there's some nervous hearts and minds out there tonight - only a few hours left until you'll have the result of the interviews! It's so cool to think we can have a tripple visa day tomorrow - go julyers :D

  14. Jeeze....... Getting super nervous now.. One day to go!! OMG :pop::pop: We need all of your prayers!!

You will do fine, I am sure!! I know how nervous you must feel right now, just try to take a deep breath and lower your shoulders some :D You guys have made it so far and I'm sure everyone here will send you lots of warm thoughts and wishes for your interview

@ Marie; So glad to hear from you again, you sound happy and positive (F) I too can't wait to be with Wade, this process really turns us into love-sick puppies huh!? I'll be spending my Christmas without him, but like you said - it's the last one and for that I am happy. It's the best gift I could have asked for (m)

  15. Ohh good. I happen to know where his parents are born :D I think we can mail our app in if we are out of state as well.. I wonder if I can convince him to sign things without telling him what it is? ;) How was your jetlag lykkea, maybe that might help me estimate my chances with him. ;)

Her jetlag was BAD, so hit him as soon as he's off the plane with your application

  16. Hi guys, how's everyone doing?

Busy with preps for Christmas, medicals, interviews, booking flights, planning weddings etc? :D It's so nice to log on here and see how more and more people are getting closer to the day we all can be together with our honeys! I'm still thinking of the few of you who are still waiting for the NOA2, I just thought for sure we'd all have it by now. Such a cruel waiting time :/ Hang in there though, all the wait and frustration will eventually pay off!!

So happy to hear you got your visa, Zahid, and I'm also super excited for Nancy and Neil! (L)

Jules, regarding the marriage license I learned through Grays Harbor County, where we're getting married, that no birth certificates, blood tests, or other documentation is necessary to apply for a marriage license. I assume this also includes the SSN seeing how it says "or other" documentation :)

Ohhh and yeah! I make one mean wedding crasher

Only worried about revenge though.. can we make sure Jewel has her wedding before we do? :D

  17. Go ahead and vent. I'm sure everything will be fine.

Hi Steve, how are you and Marina holding up with the drawn out wait for your NOA2? I see you only have a week left before you hit the 5 month mark, any plans for further action should it not show up by then? It must feel so frustrated although I'm sure you'll receive some good news soon, that would be some Christmas gift!

  18. Roughsweet- Just one more day!!! Congrats!

I hope everyone else is in good spirits! We're happily going through our pre-wed planning. Katia is still pinching herself, she keeps asking me if its all real :) The grocery store and shopping mall were overwhelming, it was fun to watch her try to pick a shampoo from an isle of hundreds; "at home I only had to choose from 5 or 6! Oh its too much, I don't know what I want!" :)

More importantly she has enjoyed making the house her own, meeting the family and working with them to arrange various things related to our wedding.

Lastly, discussing the Visa process and Embassy are a "no-no" in the house. We've vowed not to discuss it until we have to go through the next phase after our wedding. All that stress was enough for awhile, we want to just be happy now :)

Yay Travis, I am so happy for you guys (F) It must be so cool to discover the US all over again through Katia's eyes, and I'm glad you're taking the time to share it with us. You know we're all dying to get to the stage where you're guys are at! It seems as if she's settling in very nice to her new home  I agree with you regarding the visa process, I told Jules today how Wade and I will take a break from all of this for a month or so after I get there. I just want to spend some weeks settling in and planning our wedding, no more immigration stress - at least not for a little while :D Good luck with your wedding, I bet it will be wonderful!

  19. Thank you for thinking of us, Resha, that's so sweet. We are so excited, I cannot believe he's going to be home for good tomorrow! :wow:

You will have my prayers and very best wishes on your interview day. I know it will be a very tough interview at that consulate, but just remember- they cannot prove it's fraudulent if it is not. And they cannot say it isn't real love, because it is! Be honest and straightforward and the truth shall set you free. I believe that with all my heart. :)

Oh WOW Nancy, one day left! I bet you're super excited :D All your hard work is finally paying off and tomorrow your baby is coming home for good, what an awesome day. Talk about getting in a good mood before Christmas! I hope Neil's immigration will be smooth without long lines and delays - we've had our fair share of waiting already

Btw, love your new ticker! That must be the best count down ever (L)

  20. Glad you made it home safely, Jules. Hug your babies tight to make up for your arms missing him. :( And you're right, last one!

Personally, if it were me, and they had given me the interview date, I wouldn't say a word at this point, I'd just take the corrected form with me. They approved your P3 stuff enough to give you an interview, right? And they didn't say anything then. I'd be afraid if I emailed them now they may say to send it or some ridiculous thing that could hold things up - you never know with them.

I would think the worst that will happen is they will tell you at the interview that you need a corrected one. IF they ask for it, give it to them right then. But I sure wouldn't bring their attention to something they may have missed.

That's my two cents. I'll be cheering for you at that interview.

I'll have to agree with you, Nancy. As I just told Jules, I had an error with one of my own applications but I corrected it at the consulate during the interview. Even if they should want a new I-134, I think they would approve the interview while pending a request for it. Good thing is she discovered it in time and Damo can present it when he's there.

You guys are so close, Jules, just hang tight and it'll soon be over! I wish you didn't have to worry about this right before the interview - the entire process is all about waiting and worrying but it will be worth it in the end when you go to meet Damo at the airport to finally bring him HOME (F)

  21. Ohh and one more thing, I know Wade will be lurking around the thread here sooner or later; so HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABE! So sorry we can't spend it together, but we will from now on - no more holidays or even regular days apart, I say! (L)

...and no business trips for the first year of marriage. That is something I wish I could demand of mine anyways!!

Hear, hear! I say you put it in the vows!

  22. Stars Fiance is also on AP :(

Aww really? After all the time she waited for her NOA2.. <_< Hopefully both of you guys will cruise through AP really fast!

No more delays, give us visas now! :bonk:

Ohh and one more thing, I know Wade will be lurking around the thread here sooner or later; so HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABE! So sorry we can't spend it together, but we will from now on - no more holidays or even regular days apart, I say! (L)

  23. I think itz because i am from Kashmir and my name is not Joe types:(

Unfortunately, I think you might be right, although from what I hear there can be several reasons for a case to go through AP. However, it doesn't mean it WILL take two months, so hopefully it will not be too bad and you'll soon be good to go! I know it's tough to go through all of this, especially when all you want is to be with the one you love but hang in there, Zahid! There IS light at the other side of the tunnel, even though it might seem a bit dim from time to time.

Btw, did we ever hear anything about Star's interview? Did I miss it???

Also, it would be nice to see the remaining NOA2s get approved - come on CSC!

Aaaand a big, big hug to Jules who's on her way home from Australia - hang in there, hun!
