  2. Our wedding day (during "Blizzard 09")

    wedding-day.jpg

    Hope everyone is doing well!

I can only agree with everyone else, that is a wonderful photo of you guys! I love the snow (L) So nice to hear everything's going well for you and good luck with her drivers license too :D

I love coming on here reading about everyone's progress, so keep posting guys ;D As for Wade and I, we're busy getting the final details for our wedding done, after that we're going to tackle AOS. Can't say I am looking forward to it much but at least we'll be together for that part of the process!

Oh and Steve, if you have not yet sent the P3 back, you don't have to attach a photo to the paperwork quite yet. You can bring one and they will attach it during her interview. Good luck with everything, you're almost there!

  3. Just wanted to let everyone know that my fiance will be here on the 26th of this month.. He will be coming through at JFK and we are soooooooooo ready to be together!! I cant wait to see our daughter with him once again!!!:dance::dance::dance::yes::yes:(L)(L)(L):dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing:

Wonderful news!! I am so happy for all three of you - I know what it's like for the little ones not to have their dads with them. I am sure you'll have a great reunion. Here's for a safe flight for him and speedy days ahead until you meet again (L)

    No more goodbye's, that's so awesome :D

  4. I think our packet made it to Frankfurt today. It seems like we are the last of the July filers still waiting for an interview date. I know it will be a short wait from here on.

Great news! It probably means you will get an interview date pretty soon, it must be such a relief to you guys (F) I know you have been waiting for such a long time, but it will be soon forgotten once you're finally with Marina and can start your new lives together, you know. Let us know as soon as you hear something back from Frankfurt.. remember you can often call them up and get the interview date before the beneficiary even receives the P3 letter - at least we did ;)

  5. i went on kayak and that airline was the cheapest by far.. im flying out of april the 7th with them and the best thing is they fly to iceland first so i dont have to worry about time taken when i enter to get through etc...

The airport in Iceland is small, so it's easy to navigate from one plane to the other - which was great. I can do nothing but recommend them, both due to price and overall experience with them :D

So how's everyone doing?? It seem quiet in here - we had a huge computer crash and had to reformat so we've been out of the loop for a few. My boy had his first day at school today and even though he does not speak too much english yet, he had a good time at school. All is well and we're busy planning our wedding, good stuff!! How about everyone else??

  6. Oh thats great star that they extended it for you! Youre in my thoughts and hopes that everything else goes smoothly. You've gotten what they asked so everything should be ok.

The way im saving money on Damos ticket is to buy a direct from Melbourne to LAX, then buying a seperate ticket to Seattle. Plus the straight from melb, lax to seattle didnt have enough time in Lax for his poe incase it took longer than excpected. Im flying down to meet him in LA and to keep him company if his poe goes fast then flying home with him. We were going to stay the weekend there but have a weddding to pay for lol.

Jewel I know its tough, Damo is not coming until the end of March. He wants to be able to enjoy his time he cant work and have a stash of money in the bank lol. He has plenty to keep him busy, we have been writing a childrens book for the last 2 years, so he is going to work hard on that until he is forced back into the corporate advertising world lol.

    Im so happy for everyone!

That is so cute! I am buying a copy of your book for sure when it's done! :D

So how's everyone doing? We're in the middle of the wedding planning.. or should I say, we ought to be in the middle of it.. we've been so happy about being together, it's tough to think about anything but that :innocent:

  7. Speaking of sitting on your bum.. Anyone know of any airline sales? I heard Virgin Atlantic was going on sale but it doesnt seem to have. One awesome thing I've been thinking about is UK to an eastern city like New York and Boston. THEN a $99 one way ticket from NYC or $154 from Boston.. courtesy Jet Blue!! Anyone else have any ideas about getting the tickets for cheap?

I don't know what airport he lives by in the UK, but I would try and see if icelandair will work for you. I just traveled with them and we saved hundreds of dollars using them :D I've never used them before but was refered to them by another VJ member and were very happy with the airline company. I have no clue what airport he needs to arrive at, but they offer quite a few at their webpage. I got a one way trip - Norway-Seattle - for 276 GBP ($443) Don't know if it'll work for you guys, but it's worth checking out! Think they're offering departures from London, Glasgow, Manchester.

  8. wooohoooooo!!!!! just got back from the interview. i passed... 4.5 hours of sitting on my bum for the sake of 2 minutes of questions but who cares :-)

what a journey this has been! good luck to all the rest of you and happy new year!

Congrats!! I am so happy for you guys, sorry to hear about the waiting but it's all worth it in the end! :D

Real soon you'll be on the way to the US as well, I hope you'll have a smooth journey over.. it'll be slightly longer than 4.5 hours of sitting on your bum though

  9. So the interview was at 10 a.m. in London. I woke up at 6:45 my time and still hadn't heard anything even though it was 1:45 there. Dave's phone goes straight to voicemail. The night before he had told me the battery was low. I start freaking out.

So I called DOS and they couldn't tell me much. Couldn't say that the visa was issued. They were only able to say that the interview went well. I'm thinking AP or a missing document might be the case.. ask for the consulates phone number. The lady starts thinking I'm crazy and asks if I've spoken to him. I explain that his cell phone battery is dead and my internet at home isn't working.

I then sent a text to Marie even though it's not even 6 a.m. in California about my freaking out. I jump in the shower and when I get out he's tried to call and when I didn't answer he sent a text saying, 'Done ;-)'.

Everything is great and the visa should be here in 3-5 days. Right now he is in a 'wee irish bar' by the train station having a Guinness. God I love that man. :D

Awww, I am so happy for you guys! This is great news and you must feel so relieved!

I believe we all go a bit crazy over this process, at one stage or the other, lol. Oh well, at least you're almost done with this part - now on to the moving to the US part, YAY! What a great start of the new week :D

  10. Thanks guys! Everything's been really great and we're starting to feel somewhat rested after the trip over. I can't believe it's New Years and we're together, someone should pinch me to make sure I'm not dreaming! :D

So nice to read about everyone else who are getting their plans and lives put together, we all have been waiting for and wanting it so badly - there's no doubt about that! Good luck to everyone who's getting ready to deal with the last parts of the process before getting together, and to everyone's who has already gotten together! May your New Year really be a blessed one - 2010 really is our year (L)

And yes, Jules! We should get together soon now that I finally got my butt over here :D

Let's just get the rest of the holidays over with and we'll make some arrangements!

  11. Hi guys,

we finally made it here :D

The trip was as good as it can be when traveling with little kids, immigration in Seattle was only about 15 mins and a few questions asked. Everyone's doing great and we're just so happy about finally being together! (L) I'm still thinking of all of you who are waiting to get together, it won't be too long now!! Congrats to Marie who's finally got her guy over, YAY! It feels so good being with the one you love! So far we have just been wanting to spend every moment together.

I'll come by again soon to see how everyone's doing!

    take care and big hugs!!

  12. Just wanting to make sure I have everything I need on hand before my POE, I'd hate for any document needed to be locked away in a suitcase somewhere.

I got the following documents on hand:

    - 2 x Passports for me and my K2 son

    - 2 x Brown envelopes from the consulate for me and K2 son

    - X-ray CD

    - Traveling documents (e-tickets)

Anything else that I will need to carry in my backpack besides this?? Just double checking that I got everything I need for the big day. Any reply would be much appreciated

  13. You are so close now. I hope you have a safe flight that is the beginning to a long and happy life in America.

Receiving the email that our NOA2 was sent out on the 24th made it a great Christmas for us.

Steve! I am so excited for you - congratulations on the NOA2!! We celebrate Christmas on the 24th over here, so it's really a special day to receive your approval. I am sure the rest of the process will be much speedier for you now, and Marina will soon be on a plane to the US! (L) And thanks for the kind words regarding my flight, I can't help feeling a bit nervous :innocent:

  14. Yay! We made it through Christmas! Now there's not much time left for those of us still waiting to be reunited. Almost done!

Only one week left now, Jewel! It'll soon be Jan 4th, and Dave will have his Visa on the way I am sure :D

I'm still packing, can't believe I'm not 100% ready to leave yet, lol.

Aaand I hope everyone had a great Christmas, even though most of us couldn't spend it with our other half (F)

  15. I cant wait for him to be here already with our daughter!! She misses him terribly!! This morning when we woke up she looked at the pictures of him on our wall, cried and pointed and said babaaa(father in arabic)...... It is soo sad :cry::cry::cry::cry:

So sorry to hear this, my boy's been crying for his dad too even though I keep telling him we will soon go be with him. It's hard enough for us adults to deal with it, and even tougher when hearing the little ones cry :( Just hang in there, soon he'll have his visa and be on his way home to be with you both. Nothing will be able to keep your daughter away from her dad after that!

Other than that, I just wanted to say Merry Christmas to all of you! May it be a good one, no matter where in the process you're at right now. 2010 will be a great year for all of us, finally together with our honeys! (L)

  16. It's kinda like this.....

Bride marries arriving groom at Texas airport December 23rd, 2009 @ 6:02am

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) - A woman in a wedding gown surprised her fiance by greeting him at a Texas airport along with a justice of the peace.

Robyn Moore and William Acosta exchanged vows Monday at Corpus Christi International Airport after he got off a plane arriving from Toledo, Ohio.

Photos were taken near a Christmas tree at a security checkpoint.

Acosta, who was wearing jeans and a sweater, says he was speechless and thrilled by the wedding Moore planned.

Moore says she and Acosta "spent half our relationship in airports."

The couple got a marriage license last week and planned to tie the knot this month, at a site to be determined.

Moore and Acosta met in 2008 in Dallas, where she lived and he was on a business trip. They plan to live in Toledo.

Well I think we all can relate to this story - not sure if that's a good thing or not though, LOL :wacko::thumbs:

  17. Yes, there's been some stress and tension because of it for sure. ;)

On another note, I have started calling Dave everyday on my lunch break abuot a month ago. It has become a running joke that no matter when I take my lunch during a 3 hour stretch he is for sure eating dinner. If I call late or early it doesn't matter he will be eating. ;)

Seems to me there's one sort of stress or the other all along this process.. wonder when it will all come to an end? I would say after the wedding, but nooo - got the lovely AOS road ahead of us for that. At least us immigration folks aren't bored, eh? Well, perhaps eating is Dave's way of dealing with stress.. he might just sit there eat 24/7, could explain why you always catch him eating :D

  18. YAY Zahid!! You will get Christmas after all. :D A very jetlagged one! Hope POE is fun for you :D

Getting close Kristin! It wont be much longer!

I know, I know :D I am trying to keep my feet on the ground, but it's getting tougher by the day, lol. You're also getting close, Jewel - only a week and a half before the interview! Are you starting to feel nervous about it yet? (F)

  19. I'm very sorry to hear that happened. The delivery courier warned my K1 not to open the packet. Otherwise she may have and I've heard it's a common error. Unfortunately, I also heard you have to "start over" to some degree. It's too bad the Embassy doesn't include a note warning not to open their package.

    Good luck.

The officer who did my interview here in Norway warned me about it after she had approved my Visa. Twice she told me to make sure I don't ever open the envelope inside. It's also marked, both in english and norwegian, with a warning in caps about not to open it. I assume all envelopes, regardless of what country you live in, come with the same warning on the outside?

  20. So here is the Update. I am making a move tomorow to USA to be with my love.

New Delhi to EWR (15 h 25 m flight) connecting time 3 h 17 mins at EWR airport (enought time to do POE formalities)

    EWR to DEN ( 4 h 42 m flight) connecting time 1 h 30 mins at DEN Airport

DEN to EUG ( 2 h 53 m flight) connecting time with my love forver :)

Total of 30 hr journey. I know i will be super tired but all is wortn it when i will get some nice massage with some good cooked food at home :)

Aww Zahid, I am so happy for you! I thought I had a long journey ahead of me on the 28th (24 hours altogether) but 30 hours! Wow - that's all I can say.. but yes, so worth it when you can be with your sweetheart afterwards! I hope you'll have a smooth POE and a comfortable flight, even thought it's a long one :) Keep us posted as soon as you feel up to it, you know we'd love to hear all about your POE, first days with your girl etc :D

Ohhhh and Marie! I can't believe you skipped AP, that's excellent news! Even though you waited for the NOA2 for so long, it seems as if everything after that has been more speedy - and good for you! It's no fun being without our guys! Soon you'll be with him, january is right around the corner (L)

And as for myself, I am finally starting to get a bit nervous about the flight over to the US. I am not the biggest fan of being on an airplane, but I am trying to be a good sport about it. It's all worth it once I'm with him :)
