i dunno y immigration always denying ages 20-30 yrs old. when i apply my tourist visa too bfore they deny me cause i was single that time. /no kids/ i owned 2 businesses. and they said that still not proving i am coming back in philippines -.-.

but do they give it back, when she got passport they took one do they keep it or are they suppose to return it, cant keep passing these things out like flyers.....

About sending the greencard abroad, I was talking about having someone (a friend) bring it with them (pick it up from my parents) to Costa Rica when they come down to fish with us. My wording probably wasn't the greatest. We're still keeping the same address in the U.S. This Costa Rica trip is a job on a U.S. sportfisher going to Costa Rica for just several month's. Our home is still in MD.

My travel confusion is because of the contradicting instructions given by the embassy and the POE. I'm thinking the lady at the embassy was talking more of problems the airline attendent might have if my wife doesn't have an actual "green card", though her visa specifies otherwise. She was quite adament about my wife having problems and told her to wait for her green card. Maybe it was just her tone. At the POE the officer was pleasent and said she would have no problem being alowed in. That's where my confusion lies.

lol . buy ticket now and come here in USA . just present the yellow envelop and passport in ur peo immigration and they gonna stamp u. once u arrive here sleep and enjoy ur time first with ur husband/wife .. wait ur welcome note and green card in mail. while waiting go to SS admin and apply ur SSNumber it takes 3- 10 days .. thats it .. dont worry about ur visa lol i thou ur here already in u.s.

Had some lunch and then went back and got the sticker.

Arrived there at about 6:30AM and was finished by about 3:00PM

Was much less stressful than going to the other site there in Manila...

What exactly is the 551 stamp! My wife arrived here in the U.S. in mid october. She still has not recieved anything (green card, ss#). The lady at the embassy said for her not to travel until she recieves the green card. Upon arrival the immigration officer said she can travel.

I hear alot about a 551 stamp in the passport to allow permission but I'm not sure exactly what that is. She has nothing that says 551! Just a regular entrance stamp which is partly on her visa but mostly on the corresponding page in her passport. Instead of a date written in they wrote in CR1. Is this what they mean by the 551 stamp to allow travel or is that something else.

Looks like I picked up a ride in Costa Rica for the next several month's and need to be leaving next week. I don't want her to have any problems when we return.

On a similar note, has anyone had someone deliver their green card to them in another country so it could be used on arrival?

if u want to get SSn go to SSadmin and fill up form just bring ur passport SSn will not send to u if u not apply for it .. just wait to ur welcoem note after that green card will comes to u..

I am a nurse and is currently working at a hospital. During my internship i dealt with patients with communicable diseases. Being in a medical profession, there is a higher chance encountering a patient with TB.. so how will u answer the question during the interview if asked if i had contact with people who are infected with Tuberculosis. What is the best way of answering this as to not jeopardize my interview and papers as well.

I called our local registry and they said i need to go in a court process and it will take 3 months or more...so i'm afraid my K1 will expired at that time..

correcting BC takes only 2 weeks ... go to quezon city office sa east ata un pag correcting BC. theres notary public there too.. bring ur baptismal or any documents saying ur correct name or wat ever wrong to ur BC. and then u can ask them double time process but assual extra pay ...

btw k1 visa needs original birth certificate..

He most likely meant CR1. There is no loophole.

I meant CR-1 in that case. I've never really understood the difference. We did not exploit any loophole that I am aware of.

well she can get her ssnumber immediately .. go apply for it in ss admin processing takes 3- 10 days (i got mine 3 days and then card after 2 days) . welcome notes take 2-3 weeks and then after few days green card..

but little advicew give her a break first, adopt the environtment , little adjust in weather and maybe in food also and few weeks go work ....

Well, beforewe started the process i told my wife to get a new id and passport in bolivia with her married name. The people there let you pick in which way you want the married name to look like, but we did not know that. So the just gave my wife and id and passport in this order "first name" "middle name" father's last name" mother's last name" "husband's last name". That order looks way to long for me. Now her im at the IV bill part of the nvc process. They are using the name on her past port which has her first, middle name, plus he parents last name and my last name at the end.

Is there a way to change without delaying the process? my wife can easly ge this corrected and get a new id and passport with her my last name only. That way the visa is issued the way it should be, so we would not have to spend money here fixing all this. what can i do?

just let know nvc her real name it h appens to me thou. call nvc and they gonna tell u wat u gonna do

You shouldnt need the I-94. the stamp in your passport should be good enough. They would have needed the I-94 for your green card.
