  1. thxn for the website..

as per their definition, tax return and tax return transcripts are the same thing..

    Definitions:

A tax return transcript shows most line items from your tax return (Form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ) as it was originally filed, including any accompanying forms and schedules. It does not reflect any changes you, your representative or the IRS made after the return was filed. In many cases, a return transcript will meet the requirements of lending institutions such as those offering mortgages and for applying for student loans.

A tax account transcript shows any later adjustments either you or the IRS made after the tax return was filed. This transcript shows basic data, including marital status, type of return filed, adjusted gross income and taxable income.

  2. thanx for the replies..

what are their working hours..and what time zone are they so i can call them

    hello all:

we 've received our NOA2 on Apr 13,2009 and currently waiting for NVC#.

Is there any phone # that we can call up and get our NVC case #.I 'm sure it will be mailed to us these days, but wanna expedite the process....

    thnx.

Your case was approved back in April and you have not contacted NVC yet?? You need to call them and speek to an operator. they will ask for your email address and a email address for your spouse. They do not send things by snail mail anymore it is all done by email.

our case was not approved on april..we just got approved a week ago...

  3. Couple of things... Get your resume out on Dice.Com... And make sure your resume says Authorized to Work In USA, And apply for Perm, Temp and Contract positions. If you are flexible the opportunities will present themselves.

    Good Luck,

thnx for the post.....I just do't understand as to why I have to put "Authorized to Work In USA" in my resume..I 've heard the same comment on other posts as well ,still not quiete sure...

If I'm applying for a job and living in US,then I'm suppused to be "legal and Authorized to Work In USA" anyway right...

I feel like I would confuse them more by specifiying it....

The reason being, there are lots of people in US on work visa and many different types of visa. I don't understand the details fully but some of these visa requires action on employer side (ex. provide sponsorship) which costs employer money. Lately, employers have been only looking at candidates that does not require any visa processing stuff (ex. avoid any extra expense). So like others have said, it is important to mention that you're authorized to work in US in your resume. This will definitely void getting you eliminated too soon in the interview selection process.

    that makes sense..thanks

  4. Maybe my comments are not relevant since they're not based health/administrative related industries..

One thing you can try is contacting staffing agencies. My husband is in software development field. We contacted about 22 recruiting/staffing agencies, by phone or in-person. We both spent about 2-3 hours every morning looking at job sites like monster/careerbuilder as well as following up with recruiters. They had 3-4 phone interviews lined up in a period of 2 to 3 weeks. The one big problem we kept hitting is not having "US experience" or "X industry experience" (replace X with finance, mortgage, etc). He finally landed a job through craiglist ad last week at a small company and started a job this week.

Also, don't be surprised if you've to take up a job with lil less pay or lower designation. Tons of qualified people out there who are willing to take jobs that they're too qualified for.

I'm facing the same problem, I have 8 years of experience and I worked with a US companies and been a consultant for few other and still "YOU DON'T HAVE US EXP"

I've been looking for 3 months now :crying:

volunteering,internship,co-op programs may work to get a US experience.I know it does not pay the bills ,but it will open up some doors, believe me!..good luck......

These type activities help new-hire type candidates. For people with couple years of exeprience, the chances of getting internship or co-op are slim to none. These people do specifically asks for IT experience... Do you know where can we go for volunteering in IT field work?

I'm aware of the fact that they specifically ask for IT experience.I'm in IT with couple of years of experience..It worked for me..It's up to you if you'd like to try it or not...U just need to do lots of search on the internet...

  5. I came here in the US using K1 visa, got married January 2009, applied for AOS last February 2009. Right now, my AOS application is still pending and Im 24 weeks pregnant.

After much thought, my husband and I have decided that I will give birth in my home country, the Philippines. I am anticipating that I won't get my AOS application approved anytime this year. I already have my EAD and AP and I plan to travel with my son (who also has AP) using the AP documents. My question is, how long are we allowed to be outside US? Im planning to travel on October, give birth on first week of December then come back last week of December. So that will be 75 days total. My husband will follow and be there for the birth of our child. We will apply for CRBA for the baby and come back here in the US all together. How does our plan sound? Are we missing anything here?

Again, thanks everyone for all the help all these times...

my apologies asking a question that is out of the topic, but I'm really curious..so u will be flying back to your home country when you are nine months preg. and come back when the baby is 3 weeks old? as fas as I know the air lines don't take nine months preg. woman...and travelling with a new born...i really wish you the best,,,,,..i read soe where that it's best not to travel with a new born befofre two months....

  6. I travel all the time with my GC in my married name and my passport in my former name. It's never caused a problem yet. Both are still your legal names. Like the previous poster says.... just as long as your tickets match your passport name, you're good to go.

    Have a great trip, Mozplay!

I thought they issue a GC based on your passport.how did u end up having a different name on ur GC & passport..

  7. I had mine done shortly before the interview (I had my old one with my maiden name for the medical) and it was fine, my visa was issued in the name in my passport. You don't HAVE to change it, it all depends on your prefernces.

It only really matters at the interview that your passport has a validity of 6+ months. The name in the passport throughout this process is unimportant as USCIS knows it takes time for women to change their name in all their documents. I wanted my GC in my married name, which is why I changed passport.

    Good luck.

    thnx!
