    Hello All,

    So I am getting ready to send in my I-751 form for my wife and I have a question. My packet is pretty much assembled and I am ready to mail it to California. While reviewing the instruction sheet, it explains how a sworn affidavit by 2 people that personally know my wife and I can be used as proof of marriage. Is this a requirement? Or is it a general guideline of what can be used? I feel like I have lots of supporting documentation of our marriage. Thanks in advance for your input!

    Gather your documents ASAP. Write a cover letter mentioning the cause of delay be apologetic, your reason must be very good.

    Also mention the list of the documents in the cover letter. Make copies of documents for yourself (in case they need it again, otherwise you can use it for N400).

    Lastly never be late with USCIS doucments and also read them with Eagle Eyes

    I-751 should be applied 90 days prior to expiration of 2 Yr temporary GC. N400 eligibility is 90 days prior to 3 year continuous residency

    based on marriage. You can apply for N400 either if I-751 is approved and you are in your 3rd Anniversary of GC not marriage

    or If I-751 processing takes more than 1 Year and now you are in your 3rd year of residency so e.g resident since 04-01-07

    so for N400 window to apply starts 01-01-10.

    The theory about them approving on Mondays and Tuesdays might just be correct. I guess I will start paying closer attention on those days.

    Processing Time

    We sent in the packet on April 7th and received the NOA in May. My husband tried checking online with his case #, but could not. When he called he was told that his file information was entered wrong and online status unavaible. He has done his biometrics, in late May. Since then we have heard nothing.

    VSC current process times say Feb. 1st 2009, however I am seeing March filers getting GC approved.

    Should be we be concerned or just wait a while longer until the website shows VSC is processing April filers?

    Hi Abril01,

    Like Len said use the receipt number on the biometric to check status and if you can see the case status then create online account online on USCIS website for email update on your case. Register as customer and then login as customer.

    Add your case to your profile.

    Don't worry about not hearing anything. Just wait out till 6 months then comes the time to call Senator or Congressperson but that might not happen as you will be approved way before that.

    Average VSC time is 3.5- 4.5 months. I was approved after 5 months and 1 week of filing. So hang in there.

    Hi, Guys

    I am so upset but I knew the letter for second bio was going to come!! :angry:

    They delayed my original date but I walked in for earlier bio, BUT I have retake it!!!

    I dont know what to do anymore because I put cream on my hands and tried not to wash my hands too much last time I took it.

    No worries. It's just part of the process. Once you will get the approval and the card you will say to your it was worth it and these things wont matter to you at that time. Try to think of that time.

    I don't about your ASC, the officer at my ASC made sure all my finger prints were correct and for those which he was not sure and the machine beeped, he cleaned my fingers

    and took them again and again until he was satisfied and they passed.

    I just sent back my I-797 RFE, how long before I get a response?

    I recently sent back my I-797RFE a little over a week ago. I'm told that it was a bit wierd that there was no specifi evidence asked for, I guess that they just wanted to see additional evidence, so I sent in updated auto & homeowners insurance, a bunch of bills that were seperate in name, but showed our joint home address, and a bunch of property information to evidence the fact that we own a home, and have owned a home for the past 3 years.

    My question is, what can we expect now? How long will it take to receive a response, and what can we expect? I guess, I will either get a green card, but if not, then what? Will they deny me, or bring us back for another interview (we had one 3 years ago)? I'm afraid of losing my work authorization, as we are currently struggling financially due to the economy. Our package is at the California Service center, if that helps.

    Can you please add your timeline in your signature or in your timeline section, so that others can see where you stand. See mine for an example.

    Now to your question. If they ask for regular I-751 RFE, it means that they want to see more proof and are not satisfied with your documents. Normally for RFE, they give you a list or a hint of what kind of documents they are looking for, otherwise it's better to overload them with documents.

    But since you already sent the RFE. Now either expect an approval or an interview. If you get interview try to get as much documents for proof as possible. Can you tell us what kind of documents you sent them initially?

    Also it take a week to a month or so for them to get back to you. For waivers (divorce case it's worse and they normally put those at the end of the queue).

    We obviously don't want to miss the window for this so has anyone found a way to keep track on when its time to remove conditions. Obviously year calenders won't work and my constant need to have the next flashy piece of electronic gadgetry means I rarely keep a phone or blackberry for more then 12 or 13 months.

    I-751 is a very serious form you file with USCIS and I do understand that with busy lives one tend to forget such thing but it's very important that you remember it. I will repeat what other folks said and add few of my suggestions.

    Calculate the 90 days window for your I-751

    use this http://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadd.html

    to calculate 90 days by subtracting from 2 years add to your GC card. e.g. resident since 04-01-08 and expires 03-31-10 etc.

    Now you can print out calender for 2010 from online for that month and mark it on start of 90 day window "File I-751".

    Add a reminder on gmail calender on the start of 90 day to send you an email 1 day before.

    Add a reminder on the fridge on paper.

    Add an alarm or event on your or your wife's cell phone with description "file i-751

    or

    lastly use this

    i-751 returned to local office

    Need your help on that matter please.

    i have filed my i-751 2008 august.

    it has been almost a year since the case was transferred to different service centers.

    I have called my congressmans office. the lady who was helping me told me that they have forwarded my case to local office.?/

    any idea what is the next step is.? what would happen. ?

    Wish you good luck. Other folks have given you good info. Gather the evidence as much as you can, even make photocopies just in case if they want to keep one set.

    Hello Folks,

    Came from work and saw a white envelope in the mail box with From St. Alban, VT. Had a feeling it was for sure GC. Opened it and yes there it was 10 Yr GC.

    Everything was correct, it even came with a little pouch to keep it.

    I am done for the moment with USCIS. See you guys at the naturalization board.

    Thank God for this and after waitng, it finally came.

    Trust me it will came just have a little patience and it will come when you least expect it to come. If think like I started to think, wait for 6 months then

    start to worry then your waiting time will go smoothly.
