    I did an address change on Friday evening and got touched today. Probably just them updating my file, *HOPEFULLY* with the new (and correct) address.. :wacko:

    Thanks Emancipation. I hope you get yours soon. Good Luck (:thumbs:). Hang in there. I know it's tough but we have to.

    Honestly I learned this If you tell your month you will get it after 6 months or why bother it's not even 6 months yet. Then the waiting time goes smoothly otherwise one can be a nervous wreck.

    But honestly, I also used to think I got 1 year extension but everything is legit so why bother, worse i will have to wait for 6 months or 1 year or worse they will send me either RFE or an interview.

    That's great news! I have seen you on this site waiting very patiently while others were approved before you, and I am very pleased that you finally have a result. :dance::dance::dance:

    Thanks for the kind words. I tried my best to be patient but was getting impatient after the timeline hit the 5 months mark. But indeed patience is virtue and it pays off :).

    BTW didn't get the approval in the mail, waiting for that as well as the GC.

    Thanks tapskap, seldommseene and HappyNathy. Yes it is indeed a relief. I do believe the delay is related to background check and I think VSC is approving 751 close to 6 months.

    BTW didn't get the approval letter. Waiting for it as well as the GC in the mail.

    Change of Address confirmation?

    Dear All,

    Hope you all are doing great. I filed my change of address on the 9th of July online, and printed out the confirmation page you get at the end, confirming the change of address. I do not have a pending application right now. My question is do we get a further confirmation in the postal box from USCIS regarding the change of address. if yes how long does it take to get it? And is there somewhere i can call to confirm it has been changed. The online screen at the end confirmed it has been changed. Also are USCIS open on saturdays to call? Thank you in advance for your kind replies

    Just wanted to make clear that I do NOT have a pending application rite now. Should I still get the confirmation for address change via postal mail?. Thanks again for your kindness.

    If you have CR1 or got GC via marriage to USC spouse then you will also have to printed out and fill out form I-865, USC spouse change of address.

    The AR-11 online you filed gives you the confirmation for the permanent resident's change of address and not of spouse. For USC (US Citizen) spouse you have to file separately. There's no confirmation from USCIS regarding change of address. Normally if send this with a new application (I mean both AR-11 confirmation page) and I-865 with new application then only they send you Notice of Action or acceptance receipt.

    My GC will expire Oct 11, 2009. Sent my papers July 8, 4 days before the 90 days expiration. Just today got my papers back saying I sent it too early. Only 4 days to go huh?

    Hi andrew&evelyn,

    Thats USCIS for you. If you do something too soon it's bad if it's too late it's worse. For I-751 and I think for N400 they have a rule if you send it too early they will send it back saying you send it too soon.

    Even if you had sent it on the 90th day before GC expiration they would have sent it back. They normally except 89th days or later but before GC expiration.

    Nothing too worry about. Just send the application packet back next week around Tuesday or Wednesday via USPS Express mail. I would say just make copies of the packet if you haven't done so. You can use in case they send you RFE or interview which are rare or you can use for N400 (Naturalization) next year.

    Does it go through the background checks for I-751?

    I know I got stuck for a long time during my I-485.

    I think it does. My AOS took long time too. So I guess it must be the background check thing.

    I zipped through AOS, so not normal for me.. I think we have a newbie for a reviewer personally.. :(

    I think it's the name/background check thing. Even if we had newbie, they would work more efficiently to have good impression on their supervisors etc just my thought.

    am ready to mail the pack, i have 2 last question

    affidavit my ex wife wrote it, and we have like 5 people ready to sign it, do we have to notary it? or just normal sign is enough with there information?

    what is the best mailing carrier to send the pack, i want to send it as fast and possible, and with all kind of confirm sign and code

    The affidavits should be from friends, family or folks you know. I don't think getting affidavit from Ex-wife is a good Idea.

    Use the format and modify it according to your needs. Have the person who is giving you affidavit notarize and sign it.
