  1. Hi,

I just want to know the requirements and steps I need and my sibling need to take for bringing my sibling to get visitor visa.

I am a US Citizen trying to get my sibling to visit me.

    • Amount of money in your savings account?
    • Assets etc?
    • Length of Job, pay stubs etc.
    • Which one is better B1 or B2.
    • Can i ask the ambassy to issue multiple entry 5 year visa?
    • Other requirements.

Also what are steps and requirement, typically i heard it's better to apply 2-3 months before their intendid departure date.

    Please reply.

    Thanks

  2. Finally I got an approval letter today....My date of approval is 8/10.

The name on the approval letter is my first initial of my first name followed by my last name. Ex: J Doe (for John Doe).

Just want to make sure that everyone who got approved had similar name on the approval letter...

Finally I thank everyone on this forum...I joined this forum just 3 months back....We have so many helpful people here..seldomesene I hope u get approved soon too...Thanks for your kind advice Immgrant2009...

OMG, How could I miss this.

Very happy for you. I told you hang in there and your time will come :).

It's just waiting which is very painful which I can imagine.

I am glad I was able to be of some help. Hopefully your card will come soon in mail. Good Luck for that

    and N400 next year.

As far name on the letter goes. USCIS uses J. Doe Format for biometric and approval leters.

Everyone and myself got it that way. But the card has full and correct info.

    Don't worry about that.

    seldommseene,

Hang in there buddy. Yours is coming soon, i have a feeling. Don't loose hope and as soon you hit the 6 month

mark call the USCIS that you were thinking of talking to your senator since the case was not processed

in 6 months and also request to talk to an immigration officer.

Wait for 2-3 days for some magic otherwise contact your senator and talk to their Immigration Expert.

    Good Luck to everyone.

  3. Hi tapskap,

I would don't. The reason he/she wont know what's going on with your case and might say that they don't have jurisdiction on your case .

I replied to your other post here.

    Don't worry.

    Good Luck.

    Hey guys...

I am seeing that April filers are getting approved.I am afraid that the deadly Name Check may have bitten me again for no reason.

While filing for AOS my case got stuck in FBI Name check for more than a year.Back in 2006/07, people used to get stuck in Name Check for a long time.I believe now (as published in a USCIS memo), Name Check is done within 3 months.

I was lucky that I had a very nice Immigration Officer(IO), who gave me his email address which I used every month to inquire on my status. He would promptly reply me and would also right kind words, like.."Do not worry...etc"...

Will it be a good idea to write him again and inquire about my status?

  4. Hi tapskap,

I know you have been waiting patiently like everyone else and are waiting for approval longer like I had to. But hang in there buddy, it will come soon.

Also you have been trying to help other folks as much as you can. Bravo for that.

Just tell yourself (which I did to myself)

it ain't over 6 months yet or not to worry now. I was in the same predicament as you and others are.

My approval took 5 months 2 weeks approx.

So heres what you should do.

1 - Call USCIS customer service I-800 number (option 1,2,3)

talk to operator give her your NOA and biometric number and just tell her that you are seeing processing times of April and

what to know what's going on with your case.

After she's done babbling, ask her if you can talk to an immigration officer for further details. If she doesn't let you know. Don't worry and wait out for till it's over 6 months.

If you do go through ask the officer about what's going on etc etc.

As soon it over 6 months like in your case after 17th September.

Call the USCIS customer service I-800 number (option 1,2,3) again.

Tell the operator it's over 6 months and you were thinking of talking to a congress person or a senator since by law USCIS has to process cases in 6 months and would like to talk to an immigration officer.

Also at the same time contact your local senator, as they seem to have more powers .Ask for their immigration expert/liason.Tell them about your case and send them privacy/authorization form. and keep checking on them twice or thrice a week if they don't get back to you in a timely manner.

    Good Luck buddy.

Hang in there... Your approval and GC is coming... I'ts just a matter of time now...

Guys...I am seeing VSC has reached April...Making me Nervous!!!
  5. Hi,

    First of Congratulations!!!

I am in TX as well. Same thing happened to me as well.

Nothing to worry, it's normal. Once your case is approved USCIS sends info to your nearest local office and they send you the letter with that sticker.

It's much quicker and convenient for USCIS then to send you the approval.

I received my approval letter on Aug, 1st. I'm from Texas. The strange thing is

the envolope was from VT center but inside letter adress was from Texas Center

and the signature part was covered by a stiker with the center director name

and signature. I check the name of that director is supposed to be from VSC.

Called customer service and since I just got approved there computer system

hasn't updated yet. Anyone had this situation before?

    THANKS!

  6. Hi,

For a complete list of good evidence and documents for I-751 read this:

Assemble your packet and punch 2 holes and use ACCO fasteners to bind them together. You can also use labels like this.

Finally I would suggest using USPS Express mail and using of money order as I got NOA faster. It's not a rule of thumb just my experience.

    Hope it helps.

    Good Luck.

I sent my supporting documents along with I-751

    • Joint account-Savings and Checking account
    • Joint Auto Insurance and Policy
    • A Copy of our vehicles title
    • A Joint Income Tax 2007&2008
    • 12 pictures
    • and cover page with my petitioner's signature

    Hi Vjers,

Please let me know if its enough.

Thank you. I appreciate your advice.

    Jenny
