  1. I posted something similar on the embassy forum but got no response, so I thought I would ask here.

NVC finally answered my congressman's aide's email about our interview (CC on May 11 and no date yet). They say they have 166 cases waiting for Jordan! That sounds sooo bad!

Anyone know about how many cases get interviews each month?

I am getting so depressed with all this waiting!

  2. I need all the information I can get regarding interview scheduling.

We had CC on May 11 and are still waiting. I contacted my congressman's office and NVC finally emailed the aide back and told her 166 cases are waiting and July is full.

From the dates on here, I know an April CC interviewed last week. I hope this means we are near the top of the list... but I am so down about all this.

Any idea how many interviews are held each month?

    Any info is appreciated!

  3. Is that the same one I sent you a message on? I'm sorry, I guess I miscounted. I thought it was 4 months. *looks for emote toshow groveling* Think I will back out of giving time references, other than Montreal. I didn't mean to add to your stress level.

The info NVC gave my congressman's aid sounds so bad, too. I have no idea how many they interview in a month but with 166 cases waiting.... will it even happen THIS YEAR???

  4. Ally (hope you don't mind if I shorten your name)- I hope you don't have to wait 4 months and then the dreaded AP! Have you been able to go visit him since you started this process?

Yes I have. I lived there October and most of November. Then went back for 3 weeks in Feb and returned to USA on March 6. But that feels like so long ago. But we expect AP because he is from a MENA country.

I just looked at the Jordan embassy info and it says 2 months til interview date from CC. I pray this is right!

  5. Hello! I have been hanging around these NVC threads since February. They do help - the people here give you encouragement and moral support! Hang in there. Remember what you are doing all this for. It's worth it!

Quick note - once you do get your LIF/SIF, it will depend on how backed up your embassy is. Dominican Republic was backed up a couple of months, Montreal is backed up three or so (a bit past three months at last check), and Jordan is 4+ (Hang in there Ally). So don't get too down if it takes a bit of time to get your interview date. We are (or have been) in the same boat! Good luck!

OMG 4 months! Can I ask where you got this info? There was a CC in April who just interviewed on Thursday (June 24). Even my congressman's office didn't tell me it was that bad!

I will be on the phone with them again tomorrow! :bonk:

  6. I'm sorry that they are not more responsive.I really hope you will get an interview date soon; you've been waiting for a long time for this...

    Thanks.

If I had known it was going to take this long, I would have planned my last trip to see him a little different. March 6 was the last time we were together and it feels like FOREVER!

  7. Do you think about the date of the interview? Date depends on what the crowd at your embassy where you will have an interview.

They usually say for a month will be an interview when the case is CC! Or you can call the embassy and moved earlier date if they have free term . I will do it :)

If they won't answer my congressman's office requesting our date, I KNOW they won't answer me if I ask for earlier!

  8. I just discovered this sight and it has already been extremely helpful understanding the Visa process! Here is my question...I am a US citizen and recently married my husband while I was visiting him in Cyprus. We got married in a Mosque in Lemosos, Cyprus. Because we got married in Cyprus does my husband have to do the interview, etc at the Consulant in Cyprus? He is Jordanian and we would like to submit paperwork through the Consulant in Jordan as he and I will be meeting there to meet his family and travel, etc...any information would be very much appreciated!

    Are you talking about DCF?

You have to live in Jordan at least 6 months (once I even read maybe a year) to file thru the embassy. Otherwise you go thru USCIS to file CR1.

And be prepared to wait as Jordan is backed up and busy. We have been waiting since May 11 for an interview date!

  9. Waiting is the worst and it NEVER ends!

We spent 5 months at USCIS when most went thru in 3.

Then it took them 2 weeks to open my DS230 packet at NVC after it arrived. Then an RFE for something that it wasn't even clear they needed to begin with.

And now, CC since May 11.

My congressman's office is involved now and NVC and the embassy won't even respond to THEIR email requesting our date!

  10. Aww man ally and moh. I hope NVC decides to be nice to you and give you a date next week! Too bad that your embassy is backed up. I hope after all of the waiting that they don't put you in AP, that would terrible! Waiting sucks but at least we have a place to release some stress and anger without being ridiculed for feeling mad.

Considering the fact that he is a MENA man, we expect to get AP. We are hoping and praying we don't after all we have been thru already, but we are expecting it.

As for our date, if the embassy and NVC won't even respond to my congressman's office, I don't know when to expect a date. I will note though, that a lot of Jordan people HAVE gotten dates at the end of the month instead of the 2nd week. I hope this happens for us.

  11. - Which country is your MENA Spouse from? Or, if you are the MENA spouse, which country are you from?

    - Is the MENA spouse male or female?

    - If you are the USC spouse, are you originally MENA? Or, if you are the MENA spouse, is your USC spouse originally MENA?

    SHARE!! :)

N.B: I couldn't start the thread in a Poll format since the first question has more than '12' possible choices, and you can only have 12 choices for each question.
