  1. If the beneficiary's vaccinations were COMPLETED as part of the visa process, IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO INCLUDE FORM I-693 IN THE AOS SUBMISSION. All your medical information is enclosed in the brown envelope which was handed in at the POE. The envelope is then forwarded on to USCIS where it will be consolidated with the I-485 submission, once received. If you received a copy of the Vaccination Documentation Worksheet (Form DS-3025) from your Panel Physician, you may include a copy of that form in your AOS submission in place of Form I-693.

ABOVE IS listed on VJ--- DS3025 ???

HELP! Someone lead me into understanding the procedure...

  2. Thanks Payxiba!

But I'm still confused. Do we fill out the entire FORM of I693 for the purpose of just completing the vaccination supplement part?

Because, fiance is coming on a K1 Visa, he completed his medical in April, 2009. Should be good for 1 year..... and medical will go directly to the USCIS.... so question is do we still need to complete the I-693 FORM for our AOS ?

He is still missing 1 shot from the list of vaccination which he will complete end of this month; therefore....--> his current medical packet will state that he need ONE additional SHOT...

  3. ON THE USCIS WEBSITE:

If you filed a Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, on July 30, 2007, or after, then no fee is required to file a request for employment authorization on Form I-765. You may file the I-765 concurrently with your I-485, or you may submit the I-765 at a later date. If you file Form I-765 separately, you must also submit a copy of your Form I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt as evidence of the filing of an I-485.

You may be eligible to file this form electronically. Please see the related link "Introduction to Electronic Filing" for more information.

When i file for I485 AOS for my fiance after our marriage takes place, and we also fill out the form for I-765 for EAD, WE DON'T HAVE TO SUBMIT THE FEE OF $340--- BUT if we decide to submit the I-765 after the initial submission of I-485, we must include the receipt ... do we still pay? or the fee is still waived ?

  4. Does the translation of the birth certificate have to be translated professionally?

What kind of translation are they looking for?

Because when fiance had his interview in Korea, he translated the Birth Certificate himself and the Korean embassy accepted his own translation. My questions is when we submit documents for the AOS do we need a more professional translation service done?

  5. I think the most common K 1 Interview Questions are:

    - Where, When & How did you met ?

    - Why do you two decide to get married?

    - How many times have you two seen eachother since your first meeting?

    - When do you plan to get married?

    - What does your fiancee/fiance do for a living?

These are basic... almost certain that these questions will be asked.

  6. I suppose you could receive your NOA 1 , which is exactly what many VJ friends had mentioned, its just a receipt that your case has been received by the USCIS~ nothing else and now you have a receipt # to refer to your case to. As for NOA2, the actual approval, there has been cases that it was approved within 2 month.... ( i'm very thankful and lucky to have our petition approved within 30 days of NOA1 ). But that is definitely not the normal time frame. I think realistically, NOA 1 to NOA 2 takes around 3-5 month on average.

After that it goes to NVC, that could possibly take another month... then reaching it to the embassy, depending on their workload, it can drag it out for a lot longer. Fortunately for me there is not a lot of cases from S. Korea, Embassy is not backed up... therefore, it was easy to obtain an interview date. But i believe for certain countries, it can take up to 3 months for an interview date that is after submission of packet # 4.

  7. Dragon-Fish,

When i received my NOA 2 it stated that your petition is now forwarded to the listed consulate & when I called USCIS they also told me that your file was going to the embassy . NopE! They are totally wrong. k1 visa DOES go through the national visa center, although its not as closely looked at as CR1's but it basically transfers from the USCIS to the NVC and then NVC issues a local embassy case #. Then your case is then forwarded by DHL to your local embassy, In your case, I believe its the AIT.

Anyhow, i know how difficult it is with the waiting process. The true story is there is nothing you can do before the petition hits the 6 month mark.

    Wish you the best =)

  8. I think the most difficult part of the journey is really being apart from your loved ones... the separation and long distance relationship is a lot more difficult than I have imagined. Taking this step to go through with the k1 visa processing takes courage... as one party probably never lived in US before. Its all a learning process ... and once he comes here, there we are with the AOS process... but at least by then, we are together everyday.

  9. In a way, i kind of wish the medical was true so he will be forced to come to U.S. sooner -) hehehe... he's got a lot of planning & organizing to do in Korea... so, i just have to wait patiently. But i think you guys are right, Medical only applies to the interview date and not POE -)

Thanks for all the help !:blush::blush:

  10. I am extremely excited and happy right now... earlier fiance and i couldn't hold it but burst into tears over the phone. He's approved. It was a quick interview at the Seoul Embassy, here is what happened.

Interview was scheduled at 8:30 AM, he arrived infront of the embassy around 8:00 AM and by 8:30 AM they started calling him to submit documents through one window.. then he waits.. then he finger prints... then... he waits for the actual interview. Interview was a total of 3-5 mins long.

Officier asked him: where did you meet your fiance, he brought along his magazine to show that we had met through a work related function & he actually wrote about that event in his magazine with my picture in it. Then, officer asked when we plan to get married, answer was, register at the county clerk office and then plan a reception date thereafter... Then officer asked, do you speak Chinese? he said, no.. we communicate using english. Then officer said, OK... and STAMPED on the paper. I think my fiance was so happy that he jumped up and said THANK YOU (really loudly)... then he walked out and said to the officier, have a nice day !

ahhhh.. then he called me... i was of course nervously holding my cell phone for the past hour and 1/2 ....

Our journey has been a successful one and we are so thankful...... thankful of VJ and friends on VJ for the guidance.

I can't wait to share this news with all of you! <3 ...
