Two sworn affirmation by U.S. citizen friends, attesting to our relationship and marriage.
Copy of our taxes for 2012 and 2013
Copies of statements from our joint checking account
Copy of savings account showing a joint account.
Document from my company of the designation of her life insurance to my husband
Copies mortgage statements of our home, showing joint ownership.
Copy of the sewer bill of our home, showing joint ownership
Copy of our health insurance cards showing a joint policy.
Copies of envelopes of mail we have received as a couple, Christmas, anniversary, birthday and thank you cards
Pictures of us, along with family members, including our friends who completed the aforementioned affirmations
Thoughts?

Why are you posting again? You want a pat on the back for succeeding? You want everyone to bow down and apologise for offering you advice on how to overcome your lack of evidence of relationship? For telling you how USCIS might look at it and how you need as much as possible? You are exceedingly ungrateful.
How about a pat on the back for US helping you? How about a "thanks for being hard on me and telling me about USCIS's ways because I was super prepared and succeeded at my interview because of it". But of course not. Of course we didn't help you, or advise you in ANY way. All we did was insult and deride you... oh wait no, that was you to our opinions and advice.
Congratulations to VJ for helping yet another person successfully pass their interview!!

She admits her employer made up an SSN for her and she admits to working illegally. If the employer put US citizen on her I-9, she's in a LOT of trouble.

You can file both of those forms, unless you want to file for your EAD and AP, then you have to file those forms along with them.
It's important to understand the guides because this is mostly a do it yourself forum, so if the process really confuses you, you should reach out to an attorney. The people on here are very helpful with questions that need answering on particular issues, but definitely utilize the guides

Why would the house be a total loss?

This is incorrect. There are a ton of people who don't even reside in the US that own property here-and several people gave links confirming this.

I can't imagine your immigration status would be disqualifying for a VA loan, but I've never dealt with a VA-backed loan. I think you should definitely explain that although you are in the U.S. as a non-permanent legal resident in the L-1 category, you are adjusting status to lawful permanent resident.
It's possible the mortgage consultant just doesn't understand the difference between lawful permanent resident and a non-permanent resident who is here lawfully.
