  1. So nothing new and exciting has happened since the bunch of emailed approval notices this morning right? That got me so hyped up! I'm hoping we will get some more good news this afternoon! For the first time in my life since I was in middle school and only saw my "boyfriend" during the week I am actually dreading the weekend...because that means no new approvals :crying:

    Have you all seen the Filipina who is has two bf's from the US petitioning her? Grrrr that makes me so :angry: because it's people like her that make this process so difficult!!!!!

    Nice distraction...Thanks.

  2. Hi.....i need your advice friends in here.... or im about curious about the K-1 visa

    ok heres the situation, i have a bf from USA....he been filed as a being petitioner since august 2008 till now yet havent heard from approval from his side and im waiting too.... and now i found a new man which they both same country but different state .....then who is also willing to petition as same petition with my old bf.... but the question that really bothered me is that, is it okay two petitioner do petition on me? though both sides on them havent know the real situation and i dont have plan to tell to them coz its very complicated and i dont want to hurt one of them.....does the NVC or USAID or USCIS, wont trace up for my side? that i have a two petitioner?

    some friends told me it wont trace up my side coz it just trace up for there own each profile of the men, is it true?

    please help me .........or do send me a private message

  3. Congrats Carmen! :dance::star:

    I just opened up my email and we got our approval also!!! :dance: :dance: :dance:

    It was dated Feb 11 too and I believe we are 180 on Igors.

    Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!

    Congrats!! This is exciting. :wub: Happy Valentines Day!! :wub::P

    So you guys are getting the notices in the mail? No emails? I am in Nicaragua and my family is on a ski trip for 10 days I hope I get an email....that is if I get approval this week. Just being hopeful. Wow! I am so excited for everyone. Keep them coming. Are all treads this vocal?

    Looks like they did get an email but you can still logon to www.uscis.gov website and logon and see if they don't send you an email for some reason. I have seen some, though, that do not get emails and online it still says "Case received and pending" but they get the NOA2 in the snail mail.

    I am excited too! :dance: Just waiting for my day :)

    OK good. Thanks! I check my status everyday. This process is so bad for my OCD. I am going to check right now.

  4. The documents I am collecting also are phone logs, used envelopes and any other proof of ongoing relationship. She has already gotten the certificate that confirms she is single (needed for Thailand), and she is preparing to get the police certificate and medical.

    Our intention is to have nearly everything ready for Packet 3, so when it arrives from the Consulate, we can send back immediately. On average it's a month from then till the interview, and we really wish to have the visa by May.

    I have a feeling we'll only see a couple of petitions approved today. Perhaps next week the pace shall pick up.

    Well we don't get a packet 3 in Guatemala so we just have to wait for packet 4 which will include the interview date and everything, so I guess I need to get to working on the paperwork. I don't know if I should go ahead and ask my boss for the letter to go with the I-134 (I think that's the number?!?) or wait. It may take him a week or two to get it to me. What do you guys think? Also, I guess I need to read up on the guides and stuff for that form because I have made above poverty line definitely for 2007 and 2008 but I started working this job August 2006 and before that I was a FT student working PT so I don't remember how much I made. Is there a 3 year minimum for making 125% of poverty line or is it just proving a stable job, etc? Because I don't have a lot in savings, but I suppose I could include bank statements showing how much was deposited last year and all that jazz. Ideas?

    Congrats Carmen! :dance::star:

    Gracias!!!!!! :thumbs:

    Do you know if they will want to see 2008 taxes? I plan on filing mine when I return to the states at the end of March. I am fine for 06. 07 , 08 but I resigned from teaching in NYC last Jan 08 and have taken a few months off to travel. My co-sponsor is a partner at Venture Capitalist firm and he does not have the traditional 1040s and W-2s. So I am a little confused about what documents he can submit. I will be working for my friends Foundation when I return...so I am planning to get a letter from her about employment. Is it true that our SO can work on the K-1 visa? All this movement is making me excited and worried. I almost don't feel ready but I think getting the paperwork in order now is not a bad idea. I would love to hear what other people are doing. Good Luck today. Looks like they opened box #7 yesterday.

  7. I have been keeping up with all the post and it does look like things are improving. Today is Balvino's birthday and when I asked him what he wanted he said 'My visa'. Me too!! We have friends that married here in Nicaragua and the process went so quickly I think it made him worry a little. A great distraction enter out lives on Tuesday. When I opened the front door to go to Spanish class a little kitten came rolling in. He named him 'Mini' which is Miskito (Balvino's native language) for cat. The first place he decided to take a nap was on top of all our visa documents and evidence. Now I have to figure out how to get the kitty to the states with us.

  8. I just tried to call USCIS and I keep getting bumped out of the call loop. The recording kept telling me to call back between the hours of 8-6 Mon-Fri. It is 10:15 on a Tuesday morning. Anyone else having problems?

    Whenever I call, what a true delight!, I always hit the * and then 1. This gets me to a human, I think, and then explain what you need....

    Wow very interesting information. At what point in the loop do you do this. Immediately? I am going to try it today.

  9. Hey Sarah,

    I feel like the the interview is some what of a formality. Not that you should not worry or be prepared...but it sounds like you are on your game. I would follow your instincts about the papers. You say that the second set confused you and may confuse them as well. Present what you have and take along the extra set and anything additional just in case the ###### does it the fan.

    But do not forget that you love Yadar and it is pretty clear to anyone that views your profile. Go in confident and prepared and do not let some little man or woman in a suit with the official stamp cause you to panic :wacko: .

    I think that the Embassy here in Managua has a good rep so do not worry. I went once with Balvino to ask a few questions through the bullet proof glass and I did not like the way the women was looking at Balvino :angry: . So I talked and charmed a bit and she lightened up :) . So be yourself...you seem very sincere and the rest will happen.

    Good Luck.....but I don't think you need it.

    Wow does VJ censor? All I said was ######.

  10. I spoke with USCIS last month about my petition because a week after I submitted my packet I decided to come down to Nicaragua to be with my SO. The man on the phone told me that I could send in any additional information about our relationship whenever I wanted. Just send a photocopy of your NOA1 and a cover letter with your information. I am having a friend take back the evidence this week to mail it in when she gets to the states. I would just send in the stuff now and not wait for the RFE...but who knows. Do what you feel is right. Good Luck!

  11. Why wait? Go for it. Making a little noise is only going to (possibly) help everyone. I am waiting till the end of next week to see if there is any change and then I am starting in on the office again. Last I spoke to them they told me 6 months and an additional 220 days that is INSANE. The fact that they have not updated their processing times is a bit of a red flag and a point to make to our Congressman and women.
