  1. Our petition has left NVC and using the link Chels provided, I was able to find it on DHL's website. Right now it's in Ohio, on it's way to Bangkok.

I am sending my fiancée the I-134 and other documents today.

Wow...Good Luck! I am waiting till Mon to call the NVC again. I just looked at your timeline, maybe I should call today. They are working fast. Thanks for keeping us posted.

  2. Thanks for the info.

I called back tonight and she said that our case was just put in today, and I should call back next friday to see if it has been sent yet. Then she gave me the LND #. I asked her about the case number and she said london would give him all of that. I was hoping for the case number so he could go ahead and get his medical appointment. I heard it would take at least 30 days to get his appointment. Has anyone else got their appointment yet? And if so how long was the wait?

You may want to call back before next friday. NVC also told me to wait 1-2 weeks to call back but I called back

and 2 days later the case had been sent

I am not sure what the average is for medical appointments in London. I know that there is a United Kingdom

Interview Thread on VJ that Laura started.

We were lucky-our wait was quite short for the medical but there does not seem to be many Swedes coming

to the US. In fact the Doctor told my fiance that he performed very few visa medicals.

On fev.24.09 we got the RFE. On fev.28.09 we Sent back to VSC the RFE.On March.03.09 they received the doc.and contact us by e-mail.Since March 03.09 our case got touch MARCH, 03,04,05,06.So I'm so excited ,nervous,and.............yous know all rigth....I don't know what this means....

congratulations for everyone get approved....I still wait for my turns........... :crying::unsure:

    ------------------------------------------------

    Regards,

Impressive turn around on the RFE. From what we have seen here touches are a good thing...Good Luck.

  3. Hi RBAL_TN and app-girl we have received the 2nd NOA on the same date....and all of us going to London for the medical and the interview.

Ruby_mtl I think your NOA is on its way via mail. I am actually praying for it.

For everyone else who's still waiting I want to say that even though we got our approval we still come and check the website hoping that we can rejoice with you guys for the new approvals....as we all know how hard it is to wait...

We will keep praying for you and be here for support. (F)

We are all waiting with you guys. Keep your faith. It will soon be over.

I agree with this statement. The waiting is very hard and at times just plain cruel. This thread has been a wonderful place for both advice, rejoicing, and support during all the phases of the process. I still check several times a day and receive updates. I watching for new approvals everyday...keep them coming:)

  4. Congratulations to all that have been approved this week! I have my fingers and toes crossed for everyone else. We have all been through the difficult period of waiting. There is a lot of snow in the East but I think VSC will finish out strong the next couple of days. Any approvals today?

Well there apparently is a psychic on VJ because there's already an approval for 3/23 lol!

I saw that...I wonder when they will fix it? I called NVC today and they received my case on the 3rd of March! That was so fast. They gave me my new case number and told me to call next Mon or Tues to check the status. The women said they usually only have it a week. I am so excited about how fast this seems to be happening. I emailed the embassy here earlier this week and she replied in 30 mins and she was very nice. I looked into Spirit airlines and we may fly to FLL and then get a Delta flight to Boston. How are you doing? How's Josue?

Spirit is still going to be the cheapest for us, but I would really like him to come back with me via Delta so we'll see. The other day it was almost $800, when I checked yesterday it was down to $400 something, and I have some miles I can cash in for a couple hundred off since I don't have enough for a whole ticket yet. Of course we won't buy it until we have the visa in hand. We're doing good, just counting down! I leave in 5 weeks to go down and be with him and his family for a week before he (hopefully!) comes back with me!!!!!

We have time to make the final decision on the flight. I guess I can wait and see what the price is for Balvino to jump on my flight. Delta said they have space as of now but it would cost me 60,000 sky miles, which will almost wipe me out. Mini our kitten has a reservation but Balvino does not:) I heard today that flights are going down again. I hope the next few weeks go fast...keep us posted.

  5. Thanks for the info.

Called the 603 number won't give me any info until I had the NOA2 letter in my hand. I have only had the email, so I have to wait until I get the official letter.

    More waiting I guess.

That is strange. All they asked me was for my name, DOB and Balvino's full name and DOB and the case number. Then they gave me my new case number and the update. I pushed # 2 in the call loop.

  7. I haven't heard anything yet. We haven't contacted NVC but I'm probably just going to wait until packet 3 turns up on my doorstep. I am going to delay sending it back anyway as I have a trip to the US in April. Because we are having a few issues we aren't rushing anything.

While you are waiting for the Approval it feels like us against the world. Once you have progress something changes. Balvino and I feel it. He is away for a few days which I think is a good thing. This is hard and I think it will be harder once we are in the states but we love each other. Good Luck.

  8. WOO HOO! Our begging worked! We just got an email from the embassy with packet 4 attached AND an interview date of April 13th at 8am (if you read my earlier posts they were saying May or June)!!! That means we can hopefully return together on the 19th!!!!! Just thought I'd update you guys!!!!

Wow Chelsea! This is great how did you make this happen so fast? I have been in Managua so I missed a few updates. I did write the Embassy here to introduce myself and they wrote back in 30 mins. A very good sign. They can't do much until they have the packet. Maybe I will do a little calling today just to see. It has only been a few days but I really want Balvino to come back with me on the 30th. It may be possible. I am so happy for you!

  9. WE GOT APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance::wow:

With no touchs at all. Checked yesterday several times but nothing.

Received email this morning and then checked status.

The last processing action taken on your case

    Now the fun part starts!

Congrats!!!    What a great feeling. Take it easy today and enjoy.

  10. Also, there is a way to semi-track your package on DHL by reference number once you know it has been shipped out.

How can i track the package?

    It is kind-of a guesstimation.

Read post #2 on this link: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...l+track+package

I followed the directions there for "reference number tracking" ~ you may have to play around with the ship pickup dates.

I dont think nvc gives out this info.

I am quoting this post although it's a little old because I just spend the last 20 minutes looking for it, and I thought it might be helpful for those who recently have gotten their NOA2s and will be calling NVC soon to get their reference numbers and the date it was forwarded. Since my package left on the 25th, if I did the formula thing right, it looks like there was a package delivered on the 27th and signed by O ALBENO at 10:14am!!!! My fiance and I emailed them on Saturday so hopefully they will respond to us today since it appears they already have the package!!!!

Amazing research!! Thanks... you are wonderful. I still feel like I want to throw up.

  15. I see that October has reached 50%. That was fast but now I am going bonkers. I am excited and the edge of my seat waiting. Who knows?! Good Luck today everyone! It sounds like there are a lot of teachers here. I miss my students in New York. I am looking forward to getting back to the Art Room once I am finished with this journey.

Where are you in the meantime? Are you in Nicaragua???

And yes, it did reach 50% pretty fast! Hopefully they won't start with too many Novembers til they get through most of October!

Yes, I am in Nicaragua teaching English and studying Spanish. I wanted to spend some time with my man before he came to the States. I figured being around me 24/7 would be one last thing he would have to adjust to once he was in the states. If we hear soon we may be able to get through the process and he could return with me at the end of March. If not I will return and hopefully come back to do the interview and fly back with him. I do not want him to be alone. I was thinking we would hear soon but now I have this feeling that it may be longer. Either way we are in it for the long haul and we will take it as it comes. I sure hope you hear soon. It must be so hard to focus on work. Do your students know what your dealing with? Mine where always so nosy. 'Hey Miss you look tired'...'Hey Miss something wrong?'...'Hey Miss you got a man?'

I am sending you NOA2 vibes...

LOL, oh yeah they're nosey. They are always asking "Is Josue here yet?" haha, they know nothing about the visa process and don't understand why he's not here yet. Shoot, what can I say? Before embarking on this process I didn't know anything about the visa process either and even now that I do I still don't understand why it takes so long lol...

Thanks for the vibes, and I send them back to you. It would be awesome to be able to bring him home with you, I'm going April 9-19 and I was hoping there was a chance he may be able to return with me, but it doesn't look like that will work out. Spirit Air (www.spiritair.com) flies pretty cheap and goes to Guatemala, might go to Managua if you wanna check it out. But...it only flies to some major cities in the US so it depends, but he'll most likely fly to DC (about 3 hours from me) but a one way ticket midweek is only $210 after taxes...that's for May.

    Chelsea,

Thanks for this info about the flight. I have heard of Spirit and I think they do fly out of Managua. I hear of people flying into Miami. I have enough sky miles with Delta but I could save those for a few domestic flights. I may look into it. So do you think you will get through the process in enough time to go in April and return with your man....I think so. Congratulations again!

  16.:dance::dance::dance::dance: OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG :dance::dance::dance::dance:

    My time to shineeeeeeeee!!!!!

So I was kinda bummed out today, been a week since the last touch, since then no email, no change on the website, no nothing...I opened the mailbox and there is a letter from the Department of Homeland Security - Approval notice!!!!!!!!!!! :dancing:

    WE GOT APPROVEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!

This has been the best support group I could have asked for, except for my fiance of course. Couldn't have found anyone else who understood us this much!!!!! This has been such a long wait and of course there is another step to go but thank you all so much for your support! I'm not going away, don't worry. I hope to be in here for the long run!!!!!!

By the way it was approved on 2/19, the day of the first touch, with no letter of intent from Josue, and forwarded from NVC to Guatemala City 2/25!!

OMG!! I am going to be late for work but I do not care! I am so happy for you!!! I was a bit down today but this makes it better. I will do that shot of Teqila after work. Congrats!!!

  17. Ladies and gentlement, if you could excuse me for but a moment. . I wish to do the happy dance. :dancing:

Though we've yet to receive any confirmation of approval, we did just get a touch in the last couple of hours. Just knowing that my petition has been handled certainly is a good sign. Anyone else receive a touch?

That is exciting. Nothing for me yet...just checked. Did you read the fine print? I love it!

    * Note on "Last Updated" date:

Your case may have a new "Last Updated" date and you may receive an Email Notification of your case being updated, without the status of the case changing. This is due to internal USCIS processing being performed on your Case. This will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date, but may not result in a different status message.

    Oh and Good Luck!

  18. I have told my students about my fiancée and our visa journey. They are quite interested and regularly ask about her. I try to teach them about Thai culture, language, geography, etc. These students have grown up in downtown Baltimore city, so their worldview is radically different from hers. I love sharing the creepy, strange and gross stories the most as I feel they're most memorable.

I taught in the middle school in the South Bronx for 7 years. Inner city living is difficult. Most of my students were from PR or DR. They were very interested in my volunteer work in Nicaragua...that's how I met my Fiance. I miss talking with them about crazy stuff. They were my inspiration to travel and learn Spanish. I keep in touch with a few of them in Myspace. The waiting is getting really hard now but I am trying to keep my chin up. Slow day so far.

  19. Hi Guys,

We just received an email from the USCIS. Is this a standard touch? Or is it a notification our case is being transferred to another service center?

    Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.

The I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) was transferred and is now pending standard processing at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done, counting from when USCIS received it. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. To receive e-mail updates, follow the link below to register.

It sounds like a transfer. Ours still says 'received and pending'. I would post on the main board to see if others have had this.

  20. http://www.uscis.gov/files/nativedocuments...grants_2006.pdf

Go to the chart at the top of page 63.

Nonimmigrants Authorized to Work Incident to Status

Some nonimmigrant categories include individuals who, notwithstanding their nonimmigrant

classification, are likely to remain permanently in the United States. In particular, nonimmigrant

categories that are designed to ease family separations caused by visa wait times are based on

the expectation that the individuals will apply for adjustment of status to permanent resident

once in the United States. Thus, persons in these categories are permitted to work once they

have applied for, and been issued , an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) from USCIS

Thank you so much for posting this!! I was wondering about this. I (L) VJers
