I live close to New Rochelle. I did an early walk-in. My appoitment was scheduled for the 2 Sept and I (walk-in) went on 22 August and was in and out within 45 minutes. Although there were quite a lot of people, they moved fast with everyone.
I suggest you give it a try. Just walk with your appoitment letter, a form of ID and your marriage certificate (just in case).
Let me know how it turns out.
Good Luck
Thank you!! I was looking at New Rochelle at the USCIS website and it says something about appointments only so I assumed that walk-ins were not possible. A walk-in would be great! Thanks for your reply!!!

We are going to go to the local office earlier from the biometric appointment schedule. We had the infopass, I prayed so I can get my biometric at the time.
So I didn't tick the box in the notice letter, but I went to USCIS website, the local office. You can read about the info in your local office. There they offer infopass, read them what they offer.
New Rochelle is not even on the USCIS website as one of the local offices. Doesnt seem like people here on VJ have it as an local office either. Maybe it's something tiny.
search for "application support center". thats what the biometric offices are, they aren't local offices. local offices are where you'll go for the interview.
Cool. Thanks!!!!

Hi, Freyja!! I got mine on October 14!! We might try to reschedule it too!! God bless us all here!!
Are you just ticking the box on the appointment notice that says you want to reschedule? I am thinking about sending a short letter with it as well because we're away for some time so I dont want to get a new time that again coinsides with our honeymoon. I'd rather get it sooner than later though... wonder if you can say that in the letter, that prefer before honeymoon rather than in late October/November....?
Hi, Freyja!! I got mine on October 14!! We might try to reschedule it too!! God bless us all here!!BTW so cool we are always one day apart! One day apart on sending the forms, one day apart on them receiving the forms and now one day apart on the biometrics!

Hi all!
I have my biometrics in New Rochelle, NY and was wondering whether anyone has any experience with that office? My appointment is on Oct 15 and we're going on our 2 week honeymoon on Oct 9... So I need to reschedule or try to do an early walk in. Does anyone know whether they do walk-ins? Anyone know how long the biometrics usually take there?
Thanks!!!

Hi guys! Just want to share my good / bad news. I got my biometrics appointment! However it has been scheduled for October 15 and we're going on our two week honeymoon on October 9th... So I will try to reschedule it now. I am surprised how quickly I got the biometrics appointment though!

Case was transferred to the CSC today, fingers crossed that means no interview.
Congrats!!!!! All the timelines I've seen here on VJ with a CSC transfer got approved REALLY quickly!

Ours took around 10 days to arrive & it came in the mail.
Took 10 days for us too. The 3 NOAs arrived today!

Might be a stupid question... but did you guys receive NOA by mail or email? By mail right? Waiting for ours...
Sent 09/09, received 09/10 so hoping for NOA soon.
Happy Friday everyone!

By the way, what state you are? I am here in Joliet, IL.

Awwwww.... I am worried of that too 'coz we gonna be in our post-honeymoon on Oct 8-10, and they received my AOS, Aug 31, and my NOA1 dated Sept 4.
I am really hoping that my biometrics will not fall on that date 'coz we already had our reservations and itinerary done for those dates.
We are in the same situation. All booked and paid for. I really think we should be able to reschedule though if they schedule the appointment when we're away. At least I really hope so!

I wonder how long could it takes for me to have my biometrics appointment.
I'm a little worried about biometrics.. Looking at timelines on VJ, seems a lot of people get to do them about a month after having sent their AOS. We sent ours on Sep 9 and are going on our honeymoon on Oct 10 and will be away for two weeks.... I really hope we're not away when the biometrics appointment comes! Hopefully we'll know before going and will be able to reschedule!

It would be great if I could just do a walk-in. I'll wait until I get my appointment and see. Thanks!!

Hi everyone!
We sent our AOS package yesterday. So the next step now is NOA and then biometrics... which is what we want to ask about. Looking at timelines here at VJ, seems biometrics are often about a month after sending AOS. We are however going on our honeymoon on October 10 and will be away for more than two weeks... Should we worry? Obviously want to show up at the biometrics appointment! If it will be scheduled for the time we are away, is it possible to reschedule? Anyone who's been in the same situation? Is there a way to schedule it yourself so that it doesn't coincide with our honeymoon? Probably nothing to worry about, but just wanted to ask...
Thanks!!

I will concentrate for now on how to get my driver's license. Hahahaha! My husband can't wait to see me driving, and cursing a**hole of the road.
Adiiann - did you have a drivers license in your home country or are you learning on a learners permit now? I don't have a drivers license but need to get one now, however at the DMV it seems I have to have EAD or GC to get a learner's permit! Since K-1 is only valid for 90 days it's too short. Maybe differs between states... but were you able to get a learner's permit without your EAD? What did you have to show at the DMV? Thanks

FYI I was able to go to the SS office with my SSN (in my maiden name), show them the marriage certificate and they change my name. New SSN will be received within 2 weeks! Did not need anything else except for marriage certificate and my passport. Was able to change last name and keep my maiden name as a middle name.

I am really confused now. When we applied for K-1, G325A was 4 pages. But now there is a 2 page version on the USCIS website. Is it OK to just send those 2 pages with your AOS? Has anyone tried and did you get a RFE?? Thanks

That's excellent! I will make sure I tick the more than one trip box! Thank you so much for your help!!!!!!! I really appreciate it!

Thank you Seb! That helps alot!!! One more question though - does it say on your AP how long you are going to be outside the US for? If I apply for 2 weeks but then decide to go for 3 weeks, would that be possible? Or should i just apply for the whole month of December just to be sure?

I just found out someone did a walk-in at the New Rochelle office even though it says on the USCIS website that it's by appointment only. So it seems it is definitely worth to try a walk-in! Worst case if they won't do it then you just stick with your original date or send in the rescheduling request!
