It is at the sole discretion of the consular, what he/she requires. Tax return W-2 are really secondary evidence, as your learning,"never assume! Be organized and bring whatever you can to prove your stay."Good Luck.

Ok here's the good news, I was able to find my old passports. I computed my total stay in the US based on the passport stamps and totaling up to almost 7 years. Since they gave me the originals back after the interview and gave me a white sheet with a check marked what evidence I needed to submit, do I need to send them all the originals again aside from my old passport evidence? Once I submitted the RFE, will they delay my child CRBA again by asking for more evidence in another criteria/subject that they may find aside from the 5 year minimum physical presence in the US?
I understand that there are no refunds by law but don't you find it tricky on the application to mark wether you want to apply for a passport or not? I read it somewhere here posted by another member that they refunded her the application for the passport so I assumed that it might work for me as well if I ask.
Follow the instructions given to you (white paper) do not leave anything out, if you don’t provide evidence requested then yes, they delay the child’s CRBA. At this point It’s doubtful but they can ask for more evidence in another criteria/subject. I find nothing tricky on the application, it is a question whether you wish to apply for the child's US passport at the time of the CRBA application. Many reasons why people wish to pass on citizenship only, or only at that time. Focus on your child, and not the 100 bucks. If you wish to front load more evidence that you did not submit before, you can certainly do that, read the link I gave you above for acceptable evidence of your US citizenship requirements

Hello aaron2020,
I was just reading your previous posts about this on the other thread. Thank you for clarifying or making it clear here. I will find my old passports and count the days of my in/outs in the US. I knew for sure that I had a 5 year total stay in the US and I just have to prove it to them.
One thing that really bothers me is that I find it a "rip off" when they can't give you a refund for the passport application in case CRBA gets denied. It's like a pitfall.
So IR1 is the way to go in case things go wrong here.
And so is the CRBA application. I find it hard understanding when people cry and whine, “rip off” when the instructions are very clear what documentation is needed for both DS-2029 (Evidence of parents’ U.S. citizenship) and (AR11) The USEM website, is probably the most comprehensive embassy website out there when it come to spelling out what is needed from start -finish. I’d focus on the DS-2029 first as that’s needed before you’ll ever get a AR11 for the child. The process is simple and straightforward.

We processed our sons USpassport/CRBA in Cebu, recvd it after 1month.
Yes, the consular agency in Cebu offers routine passport, citizenship e.g. CRBA on a walk-in basis from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM daily.
-
I mailed my application to USEM about 2 weeks ago. I got an email from them last week and scheduled for August 7. I didn't think it was gonna be that fast since July/August were already filled up on the site. Don't forget to use a courier so you can track your mail to USEM.
Make sure all your supporting documents are spot-on. Good Luck.

The telephone number for the Consular Agency in Cebu is (63 32) 231-1261. To send the Agency a fax, dial (63 32) 231-0174. To contact the Agency by email, use amconsularcebu@bayandsl.com.
The Embassy also operates a Consular Agency in Cebu city which offers routine passport, citizenship and other services to Americans living in the central and southern Philippines. The Agency is located on the ground floor of the Waterfront Hotel in Lahug, Cebu City and is open on a walk-in basis from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM daily. The ACS section is not open on American and some localholidays as well as Consular Training days (which is every first Wednesday of each month). The American Consular Agency is also closed during holidays.

About dna test look for AABB. They will do you dna test in US and then your daughter here in us embassy manila.but you need to pay the kit in st.lukes it cost 5,000 i think each kit. I dont know how much it will cost the whole process but in hawaii it cost $1,200.
According to the embassy website : P1,500?

I print out all our emails from 2008.my email address last 2006 was deleted long time ago.. do you think do i need to translate everything coz some of our emails i written in kapampangan? And i have western union from dec2005 -2007 do you think they will accept the photocopies or i need to send them the original copy? Because if i send them the original one maybe on my interview they will ask for that. Please i need your advice.
Yes, all documents must be in English. Photocopies are accepted make one copy of each documents as the embassy will charge $1.00 for any photocopied document, as with any interview bring all original documents as the consular have and do request to see original documents.

If all requirements for you and the child are met, yes. It is a straight forward process with the right documents and proof of filiation. Read the link given above.

SSA does not see it as a birth certificate, but rather a formal document certifying the acquisition of U.S. citizenship at birth by a person born abroad to a U.S. citizen parent(s). Under U.S. law (22 U.S.C. 2705) it is proof of U.S. Citizenship in legal terms, it establishes a “prima facie case” of U.S. citizenship. As we all should know one does not need a U.S.or any birth certificate to acquire an SSN.
-
You can apply for a passport when you are in the US. However you will not get a US birth certificate if you don't complete the CRBA process abroad. I would advise completing a CRBA. The Embassy can always issue an emergency passport for your child for immediate travel.
No such thing as a US birth certifcate for a person born abroad, he or she already possess one from his/her country they only receive one FS-240
The FS-240 certifcate, is an official record of U.S. citizenship issued to a person under age 18 who was born abroad to United States citizen parent(s)

Good News
Our friends from Tacloban made it through the typhoon alive! They were able to make it to N. Samar with the help of a relative. She recounted on facebook their harrowing experience in great detail.
The water crashed through the back door of their two story house with such force and speed that the mother and son barely escaped to the second floor with furniture crashing around them. Once on the second floor the water continued to rise forcing them to cut a hole in the ceiling and roof to escape. They were lucky to have plant trimming shears in the upstairs that they were able to locate just in time. They clung to the rafters to keep from being blown away and stayed on the roof for four hours. Some of their neighbors were not as lucky.

Wow, after looking at the map I was pretty worried about your family. We're happy to hear the good outcome for you and your loved ones.
Yeah they are very close toTacloban, only one bridge connects the two islands. I’m sure the mountainous island of Biliran helped some.

Good news one of the wife’s cousins traveled back to Biliran, family and extended family are ok. Some of the homes lost roofs and sustained other damage, no power or cell communications, the hospital lost 50% of it's roof and needs fuel for the back up generators. They are desperately asking for help, food and water is needed as well. One of the sad parts of this out come, what shops that survived are now gouging people.

I read some posts about the town of Navel, about 6 miles north of Biliran. According to the post on FB everyone in the barangay of P.S. Eamiguel, Navel was ok. Hope for the same with your loved ones.
Check this out if you haven't already:
Thanks for the info, yes my wife was aware of the FB link, her family’s barangay is 'Cempongos' near Chamarita Hotel, if you or anyone hear any news please post.

Hey all, I have a question regarding reporting a birth aboard. I have 4, 3 of which was born in my husband's native country. I immigrated to the US when I was young (3) I had legal residence but didn't get my citizenship until 2007 (due to my stupidity and laziness) I've contacted my local US consular office, asking if my children qualify for US citizenship but only got a short and little sarcastic reply ... telling they may or may not qualify and that I should file, pay the fee and wait to see. Well I'm not a rich person, the cost for 3 children is really high just to 'wait and see'. Is there anyway to know without having to pay the fee? If I know they qualify, I'm happy to pay, but not willing to throw $900 out the door for a "no" answer.
Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
The consular office is not giving you a “sarcastic reply” as they can not tell you over the phone if you do or don’t qualify e.g. Documents and such. As for the fees for the CRBA your looking $615 or $705 for the three children not $900
As for qualifying you can read link below and find all the answers it’s simple and straight forward.
