When y'all sent the photos with the 230, how did you present them? Did you write the names on the backs? Anything else? Did you put them in little baggies attached to sheets of paper, like we did the the G325a?

I am almost ready to send mine. Just a couple of items to fill in and copies to be made, then I am ready....

IV shows as paid!! Was able to get photos made from files sweetie sent. This weekend we'll get all our ducks in a row, photocopies of everything made and FedEx will get some more of my money Monday morning

Today or tomorrow I will try and get them processed and then see if I can't FedEx my 230's on Monday. She has also mailed photos, so there is a back-up plan.

Okay, payment went through on my stepson. I notice that the MakePayment.aspx page hands off to the Confirmation.aspx page, so I feel fairly confident that I wasn't paying twice (but I will watch the checking account just to be sure), so I submitted my wife's again and it went through. Now I wait again...

I got my email. I went to pay, submitted the ACH payment and the .Net app bombed. Grrrrrrr. Now, I will have to see where in the process it choked. Fricking useless.... Well, I have time, since I noticed my wife never sent photos, so there will be at least a week or so before I can do anything (more, because she won't go until the weekend I am sure... why, oh why, didn't you do what I said and get them while we were there.... water under the bridge, I guess.

Another thing... Has anyone received any snail mail from NVC? I have seen neither hide nor hair (or I guess it should be "neither envelope nor stamp") of any correspondence from them...

Website showing 400 IV bill "NOT PAID" on both cases. No email. AVR not updated. Customer service at NVC states system not updated showing invoiced yet. She (customer service rep) advised me to wait a couple of days. Grrrr.

What's the general consensus on the DS-230 questions 43a and b regarding having SSA assign a number? Is it best to do this at the embassy or to not have it done at that stage and take care of it once my family is here (my local SSA office is within walking distance of my apartment)?

You sent your payment in without getting the invoice in the email, right? I made that same mistake on Sat. Maybe that's what's going on-except I thought it was usually backwards and the bank would show the payment going thru and the NVC wouldn't...give it a couple of more days.

In my defense, I was comparing service provided by American public entities, not comparing immigration agencies with other countries' immigration agencies. But not trying to make a big deal out of anything.... just venting a tad....

And yes he does! He really didn't get that it was MY mistake. ha! I tried to explain but he thinks the system is screwy. Whew!

Well, and he would be right. Think about it. And think about the reactions you get from anyone you tell your experience to. This system is screwed up. The refrain that keeps going through my mind is "You really think that your agency's actions are okay, considering the hardships you are placing on the family of an American citizen? Really?". But then the government agencies I have worked for always had as one of our highest priorities taking into consideration the hardship of citizens (and residents, legal or otherwise, for that matter). Too bad DHS and DOS don't have similar mandates (apparently).

Today AVR states that 3032 rec'd but to allow 4 to 6 weeks for processing. What does this mean with respect to what you guys report? Where am I in relation to others on this thread? What can I reasonably expect (since 4 to 6 weeks seems unreasonable to me)?

My new passport has been approved. I got my original documents back which was a relief. I am sooo excited about having everything in my married name now. Woo hoo.

Just got off the phone with NVC to check on any updates. They have received the I-864 already but does not have any updates for the DS-3032. The lady who took my call said "it was in the building" already. Could it be that it is being reviewed already?

Hi Macy-how were you able to send your IV packet out so quickly?

There was no mention of the IV packet, Finn. Only things mentioned are I-864 (AOS) and DS-3032 (change of agent).
