  1. All of you have to register, so you fill out this form: http://www.cfo.gov.ph/pdf/downloadable%20forms/registrationform.pdf

Here is the link to the supporting documents and other requirements for registration: http://www.cfo.gov.ph/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=297&Itemid=77#Second

Your 13 year old is required to attend Peer Counseling Sessions, that is separate from PDOS. They are conducted at CFO, and held every day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon: http://www.cfo.gov.ph/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=297&Itemid=77#Second

Both your kids are under 14, so they do not have to attend the PDOS. However they both need CFO stickers, Php 400 each. (Php 1,200 for the 3 of you).

CFO head office is on Quirino Avenue, and NAIA is much further away, in Pasay, near the PAGCOR Casino...which is more important to you...to be close to the airport or to be close to CFO?

You also have to attend a Guidance Counseling session, Php 250. Here's a separate link to those requirements: http://www.cfo.gov.ph/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=329&Itemid=78

Thank you very much for your response. It's just for my kids since I am already a 10 yr. gc holder and will just go there to pick my kids up and bring them here.

  2. I have been trying to read and find out, but I can not find anything on this. When my fiance comes here, of course we will be married and have to have it recorded. Once it is done, and all is legal, how long before we need to file a I-130 and I-485. She does want to work, and with all the reading here, I lost it all... ( maybe too much information) haha. She has been approved and has packet of instructions from Manila in the Philippines. Just once she is here, I got lost.. I did all our paperwork and it all was cool, took sometime and all is approved. Just once she is here, how much time do we have once we get married? Getting her here, money might be a little tight for 1010 and 355.. (smile) and might have to wait a few months.

Your questions are a bit confusing. If you are asking how much time you need to file the I-485 so she can get a permit to work is as soon as possible after your wedding. If there is money issue she can file for a work permit first for her to be legally able to work while waiting for her adjustment of status to be filed.

  3. Do u really have to go there pesonally? Coz i just renewed my passport by mail.

That was last May of 2009. I have two Pinay friends who just renewed their passport 2 months ago and did it by mail too. People said personal appearance but i had my personal appearance here in Atlanta didnt have to go to Washington D.C.

It is still best for u to call the consulate office for clarification.

  4. I will be renewing my passport soon and I wanted to inquire about a walking distance hotel going to the Chicago Philippines consulate. We plan on purchasing a plane ticket rather than driving for 16 hours and we could save more if we purchase a plane ticket. Any ideas on the hotels?

  5. Hello to everybody!

I am a green card holder married with an US citizen. I have a 13 years old daughter from previous marriage who is living with her father in Romania. How can I bring her in the USA? How long does it take to have her here with me?

    Thank you for yours answers.

You can or your husband can file an I-130 for your daughter. Only takes 6 months or possibly more.

  6. Thanks! I'm quite relieved, coz am thinking it will cause me problems when its time for interview..its still a long way but i want to cover all necessary docs and everything.

Proof of financial support from your fiancee is not a good thing to prove the relationship.Moneygram receipts or whatever receipts proving your fiance's financial support on you is not advisable on a k1 application unless the guy sending money is already your husband.

These are not really required and it is better not to present the receipts unless it is asked. Emails, pictures, letters ,chat logs and whatever forms of communication you have is the best proof.

  7. Hello all,

I have question because my daughter and son going to their interview on Aug.6,2010 in US Embassy Manila. Anyone who know what is the Form need and documents to bring on their interview? They both underage 14 years old my daughter and 12 years old my son. What are the requirements need to bring?

    This is all i know

    1. Appointment letter

    2. Passport

    3. medical report from S. Luke's

    4. Pictures

    5. Form DS 230 part II

What else do you think that i can add the required documents? Please help !!!

ASide from those you mentioned i sent my kids copies of ALL the documents i submitted to NVC just in case.

Also dont forget to have ur kids bring photos of them with you kasi hihingan sila ng consul. That was the biggest mistake I had,I forgot to tell my mother to bring some photos.. good thing she used her common sense and brought some photos of me with my kids during the interview. Also when my kids had their interview.. my mom was not asked not even a single question.. my 12 yr. old daughter was the one asked of all the questions not my 8 yr. old son even. It is best your kids knows a lil bit of everything about u and the petitioner. Good Luck.

  8. I already left my husband last night. I can no longer take him me being abused and keeps on aggravating my 5 yrs old daughter. My problem is she just got back here two months ago and i'm a conditional cardholder. We have no place to go tonight. No money. What should i do? what steps i need to take?

So sorry to hear about ur situation. Call 911 and report the incident or call the women's shelter. I will pray for you.

If we will decide that my two minor kids will be travelling by themselves with the airlines personnel assistance..would this be safe or okay for an 8 yr. old and 12 yr. old kids?

I would appreciate if anyone here can give me info about this.

What about the CFo seminar.Does my kids needs to have the CFO seminar?what office and where? Thank you very much.

  10. Hello fellow members,

Forgive me if this is in the wrong forum. I would just like to hear your opinion regarding this matter.

Due to work reasons and financial reasons.we are planning to have my two minor kids travel by themselves with of course the airlines personnel assisting them.(this would be our last opion though.

My kids are 8 and 13.. would this be okay if they will travel by themselves ?? what are tha paper works that i need to prepare for them to be allowed to fly?

    Thanks for your reply.

  11. Hi!

After almost a week, I called again the NVC hotline to check for any update regarding our case. Though actually at the back of my mind, I'm expecting to hear the same lines that our case was completed June 2, 2010 and wait for 8weeks for any further instruction. I was so shocked to hear a different status: You're case was completed last June 2, 2010 and was forwarded to the US Embassy in Manila last June 28, 2010.

To make sure and clarify what I heard, I called again to talk to an operator (and I waited for 15mins since there is quite a number of callers I guess). Jenny - the operator I spoke to, who is not that much accommodating with all my questions, confirmed what the AVR told me. Then I asked if I am to expect an interview schedule anytime soon. She said, I should now call the embassy in Manila for any further inquiry. She is also not sure how the embassy in USEM Manila with contact me - whether it would be through email, phone call or snail mail.

I tried tracking our case at DHL website to check if it was already received by the USEM Manila. (I learned this through the LingChe NVC Shortcut in our wiki:D) It seems that it is expected to reach Manila later so delivery would probably on Monday (since it is already Saturday here)

Is there anybody here who experienced the same thing? If yes, did you contact USEM Manila or just waited for them to contact you? I'm actually hoping I would be given an interview schedule soon.

One thing more, I did actually write to NVC requesting for our case to be expedited, not because of an emergency but because (just as I stated in my letter) I miss my husband and it also breaks my heart seeing our 1yr old daughter looking for her dad :crying:) Do you think, this could also be a reason why our case was sent to the USEM Manila?

I'm just bothered since I know it has to be the NVC who will schedule our interview. But with what the operator told me, I have to contact Manila for any further inquiry.

Wishing, praying and hoping someone could help me. And lastly, thanks for taking the time reading my topic.

I recieved an email from NVC stating where, what and info about the interview schedule. I did not call US embassy Manila coz the email states the date and time of the interview so no need to call them.

My kid's interview was scheduled 3 weeks after i got the email.

  12. Hello. I am posting this message to seek help/assistance from anyone in North Texas (preferably Dallas/Ft. Worth area), who has successfully gone through this K1 process with a Philippine fiancee. As of the end of May, it has been one year since I visited her there in Cebu. If I understand it correctly, that means we have one more year to get an I-129f approved.

We need help on both ends... Over there, she is getting the run-around trying to have an error on her birth certificate corrected (apparently this takes 6 months). And if she can ever get that, I need to know what to tell her to acquire next. It seems everything needs a correct birth certificate there though. Here, I don't think I have ever even seen my Birth Certificate - Hmm, do I need to order one for this process too? Anyway, I need help with the steps I need to tell her, plus maybe some contacts to get that birth certificate error fixed quicker.

On my end, I'm just confused. I had no idea it would require so much time and effort when I proposed - but I want more than anything to go through with this. I plan to submit my I-129f on January 2nd, 2011 and I want to get it right the first time. I think I can figure out all my documents I need to include, but what does she need to send to me to include in the petition? I'm hoping I can find a couple (Philippine + American) who can review my packet a few times through December and make sure I am not missing anything.

Just email me on here if you can help, thanks!

She don't need to fix her Birth Certificate . I had error on my Birth certificate ,The middle name was wrong but all i had to do is get an affidavit from the lawyer.Alsoto get a Philippine Passport only takes a couple of weeks not months.Identification cards or any documents like Voter's Id, school Id, government id If wud help. Like i said i had the same issue but i sent copies of my different Id's with the correct name on it ad i was approved with no Problem.

  13. hello fellas, ive got a question for a friend, shes in the u.s now and shes pregnant.she wants to go home to PI and deliver the baby there, and after the delivery she will go back to the states.what are the documents or requirements needed so she can take the baby with her back to the states.your inputs will be gladly appreciated.

I went home to Philippines when i was 7 months pregnant to deliver the baby since we did not have insurance that time.

If one of the parent is a US citizen all you have to do is apply for a CRBA to US embassy in Manila as soon as the baby is born. I got my baby's US passport and US Citizenship certificate 10 days from the day the application was filed. Good luck.

  14. I checked my case status OMG..I received RFE... I am asking everyone here how long its takes if we received RFE? then if I forwarded all the documents that they needed..what is going to do next? My husband is really upset to hear that and he got so depressed..

Guys pls..help us and advice me alot..

    Thank alot

    Baille

RFE's usually don't take that long as long as you will send them what they need right away. I got 2 Rfe's the whole time we are dealing with my kid's I-130 and in a week it's all taken cared off. Just give them what they want and follow the instructions .

  15. Do you know if there is a provision that states that "If borrower is more than ____ late in making any payment, Lender may declare the entire balance as due immediately" (or something to that effect)?

If there is such a provision and indeed there was a delay in payment, then the Lender can demand immediate payment even if the one year contract is not up.

There could also be other provisions that could have put the Borrower in default that would result in the principal being due immediately. You need to read the contract thoroughly.

Thank you . Will let her know this.As far as I know there was no formal contract it was just a piece of paper with the amount of money owned and payable for 1 year. it was not stated how much should be paid each month to pay the whole amount for 1 year. The rest is verbal lang.

  16. Hi All!

I really need help. I am from Seattle WA and been here in the US for a year and a month by CR1 visa. Housewife. My country of origin is Philippines.

I don't know where to start... I'm married to an alcoholic. We've been married for 3 years now and have a two year old daughter together. He goes to the bar every after work, every night, this includes weekends. When he gets home, he drinks more (he always has a full bottle of alcohol in our pantry to get him covered). He's so alcoholic that he wouldn't even remember that we talked or agreed about something or that we slept together (which only happened 3 times since I got here in the US) the other night. This is embarrassing but it's true. I have no issue with him bringing home the bacon because he keeps a good paying job. I am a low maintenance wife, I don't shop clothes, when I need to get my jacket for winter, I got it from walmart and for it for sale. My family in the Philippines are also not asking money from me so basically, we don't have any problem on that part. The problem started on his Alcohol and later on his refusing to sleep with me since August of last year. I was ok with it though it was really hurting my pride but I was ok to stick with the marriage for the sake of our daughter.

Just a month ago, he was out of the country (work related). He asked me to call the bank to put money on our other account which I did but the bank people told me that I could set up an account online under the same account we shared, and I can do this stuff without calling them. So, I did that. And last week, 2 days before he got home from abroad, I checked our account for just some reason, and I found out that he was subscribing to this friendfinder account which charged him almost 30 dollars every month. And I checked the history of the bank statement (which only limit me to check from January of this year), that it's been there for a while, a recurring charge every month. I still was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. So I gave him a warm welcome when he came home because it was his birthday. Two days after that, I asked him about the charge and he said he didn't know anything about it. I asked him to call the bank if he wasn't aware of it so he could cancel any incorrect charges and joked that he could give me the money every month so I could get myself a nice clothes, but he didn't call the bank. I started to get really offended and he admitted to me that he was a subscriber. I called the friendfinder and cancelled the account. He refused to cancel it himself. I don't know his password so calling the customer service with credit info helped.

Right now, I'm really hurt. He's gone again to the bar right at this moment. I want to divorce him but I'm so scared. I don't have money in my hands. How can I hire a lawyer? We share the same account but if I take money from there, he would know for sure because he checks the account regularly I suppose. I don't know if my daughter and I will survive. I don't have friends here since I don't go out ( I don't drive but takes a bus) and if I do, I don't mingle because of my family issues. I am insecure. I am scared. Most of all, I'm confused.

I know my post is long but I hope you give me a chance and read this story and give me any insight on what to do.

Hi there..i feel so sorry for you. Get some help to try to save the marriage for your child's sake. If he is not willing to do something for you and your child then he is not worth it.

Try to save the marriage and talk to him .If things don't work out then prepare yourself for the worst scenario. My filipina friend was in the same situation like you.. she prepared for it,,learned how to drive. got a job now she is happilly divorced and she has the custody of their 3 yr. old daughter. Sad but it is better to be alone than be in an abusive relationship. Lastly Pray, pray coz prayers can move mountains. Good luck and God bless you.

  17. i have another problem..i currently have a old green passport which will expire on sept 2012..my dilemna now is in DS230 they're asking for the photocopy of my passport..can i still use it?or should i have to get the new machine readable passport?

You can still use the old green passport as long as it is still valid. My kids has that old green passport issued in 2006 and they just got their visa stamped in that green old passport and no problem at all.

  18. Why can't your friend pay the woman. The woman lend them the money.

When your friend signed the co-borrower, she accepted the fact that she also owes money to that woman.

If your friend pays the woman, then this issue is over. IT IS THE WOMAN'S RIGHT TO GET BACK HER MONEY!

My friend was willing to pay. The amount borrowed was in installment basis .. they borrowed $1000 for 1 year and the lender(friend) wants my friend to pay the whole amount back in just one payment that is why

my friend did not agree and can not pay at once.

Is it acceptable that u borrowed a certain amount for one year in installment basis and then wants u to pay her back one time?

  19. This is not correct. If he has been living in the PI for six months or more, he can file the petition directly at the Consulate in Manila. G325a address information is to be complete for the most recent 5 years, regardless of how long at a given address but certainly not all addresses for more than six months.

Later, the foreign spouse will provide a visa application that indicates all cities, States (if applicable) and Countries lived in for more than six months since age 16 but that is a separate issue.

    Thanks for d correction .
