  1. Hello fellow members,

Just wanna ask a few questions and I would truly appreciate all your answers. My 2 minor kids will have their interview this coming June 11 at USEm, Manila.

    My concerns are:

    1. Do they have to have CFO seminar (when they get their visas) or things they have to do before they fly?

Just wanna make sure since we live 8 hrs .away from Manila and would have to stay in the hotel so i wanna use the oppurtunity while kids are in Manila to get things done if they could.

    2. My mom can understand and speak english but not fluently..can she request for a tagalog interview or an interpreter just in case? Mom is the kid's legal guardian?

    3. Am worried about kids being asked questions that are not easy for them to answer especially dates of events..my kids are only 12 and 8.

4.My kids completed their medical exam and they both passed, some said the interview is just a formality..is this really true?

Thanks again and God bless us all in our journey.

  2. hi, verna! provided she can prove very well that she has reasons to go back, there's a very good chance your mom will be granted a tourist visa, and add as a reason your preference for an accompanying adult to travel w/your kids (esp if your kids are minors). :)

Thank you ladies ,,i appreciate it.

US Embassy Manilla - B1/B2 Visas

Read up at this link to the US Embassy in Manilla.

You cannot get your mom a tourist visa - your mom needs to get her own tourist visa.

Thanks .yes that's what i mean she needs to apply for her a tourist visa.

  3. Hello Fellow Members,

I would like to ask those who knows the procedure or have been through this journey.

I was thinking of getting my mom a tourist visa so she can fly my kids here.

    My questions are:

1- Is it possible or you think my mom will be granted a tourist visa just for the reason of accompanying my 2 minor kids to come here?

2- If so how long does it take to apply for a tourist visa and where should i start the process??

I would appreciate if someone can give me a link about this. Thank u all so much.

  4. Hello Fellow Vj members,

How are u all? Hope you'll are in great shape. My kids just completed their medical at St. Lukes Manila.

    Kids are 12 and 8.

Their scheduled interview at US embassy will be June 11 at 830 am.

Any tips who have been through the same boat?

1- what could be the questions for the kids?

    2. Are the kids be asked questions or its just my mom who is the legal guardian?

    any tips wud be appreciated.

  5. Everything that was submitted to NVC is forwarded to the US Embassy so you shouldn't need additional copies.

That said, we did make sure Anna had Originals of everything just in case but nothing was asked for.

I'm assuming that the kid's Visas are CR/IR-2 Category, in that case the Affidavit of Support was handled at NVC. Unless income has changed and/or it's been a long time since NVC processing it should not be necessary.

Doesn't matter even if he has never met the kids, he already proved the relationship which gives them immigration status when the petition filed. That relationship is his marriage to their biological mother. With the petition he filed their birth certificate & a copy of his marriage license/contract with you.

    Thank you so much.

  6. Hello fellow members,

My kids will have their interview this June 11 at US Embassy Manila. Am a bit nervous, my concerns are:

    1. We submitted all certified copies of documents to NVC,, does my mom needs to have certified copies of documents to bring with her during the kid's interview? (mom is the guardian). Or she can just bring photocopies?

2 Do we need to send mom copies of out tax records, Affidavit of support, bank statements etc. etc for her to bring or no since NVC will forward all the documents to the embassy?

    3. Do we need to submit to embassy proof of relationship of my kids to my husband(petitioner)? If so what proofs? When hubby went to visit me in 2006 my family was in the province (Mindanao)and we only stayed in Manila so hubby didnt meet my family in person. is this gonna be a problem? The only proof we can get are money receipts that we sent my family every month? wud this receipt help? We don't call my kids coz we chat online. What can u suggest as evidence?

Please please i need u r inputs as i am worried for their upcoming interview. Thank you in advance.

  7. Hotel Soriente. Only P1,499.00 per night. It's the only hotel nearest to St. Luke's, with only just a few steps away.

    Address: 545 Flores Street, Ermita

    Phone #: (632) 525 7304 / (632) 523-9480

Thank you all. We found an inexpensive hotel called ISEYA hotel for 1,450 per nyt family room. Also close to US embassy and St. Lukes.

  8. Hi folks, some of you know my fiance is heading for US tonight POE LAX tomorrow evening. We were talking last night and she popped up with this nickname she said she wants to start calling me when she gets here...we normally call each other baby....but she used the words last night... "bb dunot" and said it means "bb love." I looked up dunot in several online cebuano/visayan dictionaries and dunot keeps giving a definition of "rotten, spoiled, decay." Is there a hidden meaning or slang meaning to this word?? Or is she calling me rotten baby?? :o

I am bisaya too. "Dunot" means rotten unless she has her own meaning for it.

  9. Hello Vj Members..

Just wanna ask if how much is the payment to order the CRBA and US passport?..because I am going to apply for my son. i want to order it before his father come, baka kasi mahal, anyway im from cagayan de Oro..

For those u have been with the experience please share po..

    salamat!

Hey am from Cdo as well. I did my son's CRBA in 2008. Just make sure you have all the documents you need before you even fill up the application forms. If the fee did not increase i think i only paid like 7K pesos. The payment already includes the passport.

  10. Hello People of VJ,

Hello to all of you. My kid's case was completed at NVC on MAy 7 2010. They are schedule to have their interview at US embassy Manila on June 11. Am a lil bit nervous since i wont be there becoz of work reasons.

    Here are my questions:

    1. Anybody can recommend me an inexpensive hotel, pensionn house that are close to St. Lukes and US Embassy? family is from the province so they need to stay in the hotel.

2.Are my kids who are the benefeciary(12 and 8) be interviewed or ask by the consul or its just mom who is the legal guardian.

3.I need an exact amount in Philippine peso how much is the medical fee for kids below 15.

    4. Is there any other fees we have to pay( for visa fee )at the embassy? or the $400 that we paid here for visa is already the payment for visa?

    5. How much is the visa delivery fee?

Thank you so much in advance and please pray for our journey as well.

  11. Hello fellow Vj Members,

My husband filed 2 separate I-130 petition for my 2 minor kids in the Philippines. We just had our case completed on May 7. My questions are:

    1. If my kids will be granted a visa ,what kind of visa would it be? Is it IR1 and would they have 10 years green card once the kids are here?

    2. Is it possible that I can make early medical appointment at St. Lukes even if my case was not forwarded by NVC to the Philippines yet?

    3. Or is it NVC who will make the schedule for the medical and interview? since it's not a K1 visa application?

    4. How long does it take from the time NVC forwards the papers to the Manila US Embassy before we will get the appointment letter for medical and interview?

5.Do i have to gather again certified copies of documents we submitted to NVC for my mom to bring during the interview of my kids? (mom is the legal guardian). Or is it okay if mom will just have photocopies of all the documents we sent to NVC since NVC got all our certified documents?

Please I would appreciate all your help. Thank you so very much in advance.

  12. Hi Guys,

To all the guys who files CR1 in Manila....i just have some question...my wife got interview on June 2 and she got her medical passed and the St. Lukes took her passport and send it together with the result to the US Embassy manila...i just want to ask if she can have her passport with the visa on it on June 2 for im going to buy her ticket for June 10...i am just a little worry maybe June 10 is so close for her interview and dont have her visa on that day....thanks

Not a good idea. It would be best to buy her a ticket once she has her visa on hand.

  13. Hello fellow VJ Members,

I read somewhere that children below 15 yrs. old dont have to have x-ray but only TB skin test. My kids are 12 and 8.

I woul appreciate if someone can share their experience on this ff . questions:

    1. WHere or what bank should the Medical fee be paid for?How much in Philippine PEsos?

    2. How much is the visa delivery fee?

    3. Is there a way we can just go to SLEC to have the kids medical done in advance? They dont have the appointment letter yet? If so what do we have topresent to the guard at SLEC?

    Thanks a lot in advance.

  14. Is it me?, or can I not find the answer to this question?

I'm sending in my I-129F package tomorrow. I'm going to use a personal check for the $455 fee so I can track it, but do I "Pay to the order of" USCIS? I'm almost positive this correct but I cannot find a confirmation on this site. Much thanks to anyone you can calm my thoughts.

    B

We always use personal check in dealing with USCIS fees. Just write to U.S Department of Homeland Security as the payee.

  17. St. Luke's Medical Center

There are two facilities called, "St. Luke's": one in Quezon City and one in Ermita, Manila. You must go to the one in Ermita, Manila. All K1 K3 and K2 visa applicants must complete a medical examination at St. Luke's Extension Clinic. These fees are also payable in Philippine pesos.

St. Luke's Extension Clinic is located at 1177 J. Bocobo St., Ermita, Manila, Telephone Numbers 521-0020 and 521-8647. It is open for business Monday through Friday (except on Philippine holidays), from 7:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. When you go to SLMCEC for medical examination, you must bring your passport and one photo (size: 2" x 2"). http://www.stluke.com.ph

It is important that you must have completed your medical examination when you come to the Embassy for your visa interview. Otherwise, your visa application will be refused or you may be asked to return for another appointment. The medical examination results are delivered directly to the Embassy.

    First-Come, First-Served

Applicants are examined on a first-come, first-served basis. Medical examinations may take more than one day to complete. Female applicants may request a female doctor to perform the examination. Unless it is necessary, do not bring companions due to space limitation at the clinic.

    Fees

The medical examination fee is US$213.35 for adults (15 years of age or older) and US$185.35 for children (14 years of age or younger). Repeat X-rays will cost US$7 each. Fees must be paid only in Philippine pesos at the prevailing exchange rate.

    Thanks a lot sjr09.What about IR1 ? My kids were filed I-130 so it's not K visas??

  18. Hello fellow members,

Due to RFE's we have our I -130 journey delayed. Now the case for my 2 kids is complete as of May 7, 2010. My questions are:

    1. When do my kids have their schedule for their medical exam in St. Lukes? Should we wait for their schedule? or we can set an appointment for their medical?

    2. If we want their medical done ahead what do we need to present to St. Lukes?

    3. How much is the Medical fee for 16 yrs old below? my kids are 12 and 8?

Thank you very much for your help.
