It' strange that we are supposed to face the Northeast from the US. I would think it was Southeast if you lived in the north in the US. I figure with the earth being round and all, eventually one would reach Mecca...even taking the long way there. LOL.

Jordanian leaders have always amazed me with their ability to reach out to eveyone....whether or not they agree with their agenda or their means of obtaining their goals. I think they need to bring these bitter enemies to the table and hold discussions...and well they need to start opening the lines of communications. Alienating everyone just means more innocent lives lost and families torn apart. Let's hope His Majesty and his leaders are able to make some major breakthroughs.

I got an RFE for my DS230 Wednesday I found out about it on the IVR. IVR says it was mailed to me...I can't be bothered to wait for them to mail it and me to receive it. So I spoke with operator to find out what it was. Then express mailed it Thursday. The IVR is "slow" this week...I think a day off. It didn't update until late in the day Wednesday and I didn't make it to the post office in time. *(#(*#$#(* But I express mailed the document and it is 1/2 way to Portsmouth as we speak...should be there by 10 am Friday morning. Hopefully I will have case complete by end of next week!

I just binder clipped all the papers together with barcoded sheet on top. Put them directly into a priority mail mailer at the post office and mailed it off! Works like a charm!! Keep it simple!

JJ, keep calling to get the IIN. Another VJ talked to 30, yes THIRTY, operators and several supervisors before finally reaching an operator and gettting it. Call at 10pm EDT. Night operators ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!

Also the 4-6, 2-4, 6-8 week lines are BS.....let it come in one ear and other the other. Keep calling and get that IIN!!!

Call and speak with an operator. THe IVR is SO delayed now and the information on it is old by the time it is even updated. Find out what is going on with your 130.

Still don't understand why you are worred about the 129 if you won't pursue it. The interviews you wanted in different places anyways so scheduling teh Casa interview won't help if you are going to schedule the CR1 in Spain. Or will you use it as a back up and he will interview for both? Faster one?

I would suggest emailing casa tonight/now. They will shut for teh weekend and don't forget it's labor day weekend. The consulate in AMM is closed the last working day of the month, so they will also close on Sunday....so you might not get an answer until Tuesday at the earliest.

I don't know much about Casa on how they schedule K3 interview dates....when you return Packet 3 or when they send it out they assign interview date.

If the K3 is there then the consulate will contact your husband and send out the packet....to your or him I don't know. Jordan sends K3 to the US based spouse. Your best bet is to contact the embassy and see how they process it or as the fine MENA ladies that went through Casa. Sorry to pass the buck but I don't want to give you incorrect information.

Are you pursing the K3 now? Or are you still wanting the CR1. Cause for you these will be in different consulates from what I read you were doing.

I made photocopies of all the tickets my friends at work got for stuff like no seatbelt, speeding, weaving, etc. and showed them to Ahmed. I think that made him realize the seriousness of it.

I'm lucky I didn't actually have a single issue with Ammar on this-- he got it when i just told him... but... I did bother to tell him that we get tickets for things and he believed me. Your approach is what i was talking about. I think sometimes maybe they don't think things are enforced-- just like at home.

I admittedly drove a few times in jordan and it didn't bother me... but... I only drove once on the highway and then the other times were short drives in Irbed. I tried to avoid driving not for any other reason than it's an imprisionable offence without your Jordanian or valid international DL.

You can drive rental cars with US License. I don't think they allow you to drive private cars without a jordanian license. And I could never pass the drivers exam in Jordan. I might use my wasta to get a license this year. LOL.

My 864 was entered into their system on 8/18 and the 230 on 8/22. Hope the AVR system has some good news for me in a few hours!

Speak to an operator on the 129F. See what happened to it. Maybe they sent that letter to you by mistake?

What I do is buy it, then put it in the freezer..take it out just before I head to the airport. It should be ok for atleast 15 hours. :-) That stuff is very expensive there...the prices here are outragous as well...8oz for $2.49! There it's like $4 for 4 oz.

Eggs also need to be refridgerated...when was the last time you saw that in the ME? They leave the eggs in the sunlight...LOL Another reason I don't eat eggs in Jordan!

I you eat mayonaise, then take that with you. A plastic jar! I get requests for that along with: Twizzlers, cream chesse ( i once made a cheese cake there and i bought everythign from safeway...ws around $40 worth of ingredients), chocolates, hot cheeto's . I take crystal light powdered packets with me and granola bars.
