  1. Hello everyone. Just got back into town yesterday...I feel like I haven't slept in 4 weeks....it's true I haven't. I got to the airport 6 minutes before they closed the flight and prior to that we had a very busy week including the interview. My wife and I put about 2000 miles on the car in a few weeks...yep all in Jordan. Craziness I tell ya! I would say that's like driving 5000 miles in the US over the same period of time. We went all over Jordan sightseeing and to the medical and enterview appointments it was a 1.5 hour drive one way.

I would like to thank all those who sent their well wishes to us. I just read the threads and posts but I don't think it would be a good idea to pull up the old threads and respond individually. I sincerely appreciate everyone's prayers and positive words. Thank you SO much!

I will post a detailed description of what took place in the next few days at the medical exam and the consulate. I was fortunate to be at both and I hope that my first had experiences help others going through Amman in the future (or at least until they change the procedures...which I hope they don't do as they are much more effiecient then a few years ago. Hopefully the consulate in Iraq will open soon and take some of the burden off AMM). I am still trying to get back into things and the jet lag is killing me. I returned to a flat tire on my truck that I had to get repaired yesterday (took them 4 hours of me waiting for them to pull in my car into the garage). I have a 140 mile drive ahead of me today to get home and I will be leaving for that trek shortly. Also I have work tomorrow :o .

Short story on the visa...we were approved after a very very short interview. I would say it was less than 5 minutes. Only one question, about how we met. The passport has not been returned to us yet, but I expect it soon and ISA today.

My trip overall was great. The wedding reception was a blast! And R and I rented a flat for the weeks after the wedding and spent some quality time together.

I had the privledge and absolute pleasure of meeting JJ's husband while I was there. He's an extremely likable gentleman who is very kind and just an all around great person. You both are very lucky to have one another! Alhamdulilah. Hopefully JJ, R and I will visit you and I in Chicago in the near future. Inshallah ya rub.

Also, to 0, from K & O, were you on Delta flight DL023 from Amman yesterday/Friday night? I thought that was you holding the brown evelope in the immigration line at JFK....but wasn't certain...white and black/blue zippered sweathsirt? Appologies for not coming up to you and introducing myself...but i was already in the US citizen line. I just wasn't too sure it was you and felt a little awkward just coming up to you and saying I know you! LOL. I am actually VERY shy in person. I hope you made it through without any problems...the officers seemed ok for it being 6am. I just read now you were hoping to travel on Nov. 8 so now I'm like 90% sure it was you...so sorry again. Anyways, welcome to the United States and I wish you and K all the very best and a great life together.

Congrats to all those who have gotten approvals and visa's over the past several weeks.

  2. LOL. You gals are too cute. JJ my bags are full already...got a call for candy and chocolates today. Would love to take you with me though! Yalla, meet me at JFK next Thursday! Rosalinda, you'll have to wait for the visa, but you know I would do it in a hearbeat...but then what?!?!?! We all do it the right way and reap the rewards later. A.G. Thank you!

Everyone else, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I will be there in less then 11 days!

  3. I have the same predicament...even contacted congressman for help. No help there…and told to wait until they schedule an interview. My consulate is like 3-4 months behind on scheduling the CR1 interviews.

It's only a matter of sending the (*#&$(*#@& I130 paperwork. It's that simple!?!?! We get no help. I wish they would have told me that before I paid the $470 at NVC!

Looks like they are reverting back to using the K3 for what it was intended…the foreign spouse coming to the US to wait for the I130 processing…OR we dish out the $1010 to adjust in the US.

    Good luck to you.

  4. it's bridezilla in my case ;) maskeen Ibrahim...

I will leave the US on Oct. 9...12 more days.:dance::dance:

Wish you could come along. maybe in the future we'll have an Irbid VJ meetup!! LOL

If I don't talk to you before then..Eid Mubarak. Kol am wa intee bekhair. And to all my brotha's and sista's around the globe kol am wa into bekhair to you and yours.

  5. lulu....if I email Jordan, willl they tell me the interview date? I am so anxious to know! It couldn't hurt right, to email them? Or should I wait til they send it to him? How did you learn of your wife's date?

email them in a week or so. short and sweet. I emailed them.

I emailed twice, jumped the gun totally and now I have to wait it out. :D The interview will be in Nov or December so I am just in 'sit back and chill' mode now.

Wow, after approval there is a flurry of activity, then nothing again. And to think after Ibrahim gets here I have to do aos/ead ...oh joy. While I have everything out and in order, I should get that packet prepared ahead of time.

    lulu-------sup?

whassup sista? Nothing much here...working way too hard and buying gifts for my wife. And ramadan is taking a toll on me. I don't get up for sahoor and go workout from 5 to 630 prior to breakfast. Been kinda out of it and anti social lately...haven't talked to my wife since Sunday...i am beefing with her but she doesn't know it. LOL.

  6. I pay 180 to 200 US $ per sheep in Jordan.....for a nice sized Balad sheep (local). I like going around to deliver the meat myself along with tea, sugar, and rice. My very own United Way. ;)

The zakat in Jordan I think is usually 8 JD per family member...usually we just have my grandpa give it to some poor neighbors.

Mosques in the US also collect zakat before the Eid prayer.

  7. I got both of mine done last week as a surprise wedding gift for my wife. I am wearing 1/2 C. studs in them now. I think the wife will be more upset that I didn't buy her a pair, then with getting my ears pierced. J/K I would get run out of Jordan if I got them pierced...even though I always wanted to get my eyebrow pierced.

Seriously, go for it Nawal. I didn't think she could get any cuter, but with earing...Oh MY!

  8. I am POed as He!!. I hate you know who and you know who else. (*@(*$&@#^$@*$_#*%_(#*($#^*^$*$ Been calling NVC and DOS trying to get someone to talk to someone...no one wants to help. It's just an email or phone call that I need. NO one is helping. Just donated $470 to NVC...like they need the extra money. (*@#)(^#@*#@$@()#%*(&(@!^$*($

  9. I have no experience with "co-sponsor"....and I see you filed the 864EZ as well. I think they each fill one out....and if the co-sponsor files taxes jointly with someone else then there are additional requirements...W2 maybe. I think if he is Nov. 7, and he hasn't gotten far out of the starting gate at NVC...he would be hard pressed to get case complete and the file to AMM in time for the Nov. 7 K3 interview. He is probably better off saving the $470 for adjustment stateside. just my opinion.... Nov. 7 is his interview? That is a Friday?

Once you know when it was sent to AMM....get the date. You might get a letter in the mail...but bythe time you get the letter from NVC...the file prob made to Amman and they sent out the packet of information....you have to catch it before they send it out (cause they will mail it to you in the US). The medical cannot be completed without the letter from the embassy....so by the time you get it and mail to Ibrahim...it will most likely be close to the interview time....and that is just too close for comfort.
