10pm my time...yikes!! Way past my bedtime...LOL...although for the last one...we were up pretty late. If I can't sleep I will be there. I have to work long hours the first couple days of the week to make up the time I will be going to NY to pick up R.
RR, you know I'll be in your corner cheering you both on! 7 months, eh?!?!? It only now seems that time went by quick...remember we were all waiting for the darn NOA2s...and remember also all the complaining we did during the waiting. This is it woman! Your man will do great!! Wishing you all the best!
-
Wow, Rosalinda...I am so sorry to see you are still waiting...hopefully not too much longer. Glad to see you are going there to spend time with him though..should be great. Have you contacted teh DoS in Washington to check the status of the AP? I am curious as to what they are telling you.
OMG...I take so much stuff when I go to Jordan. Last time we were over by 8 or 9 pounds on each bag...ouch on the charges...but all my aunts wanted something.
Good ideas, include: shoes...if you know their sizes. My sister knows all my aunts sizes and we caught a nice sale at JCPenny...$60 shoes marked down to $10 or so! Got 9 pair...yep I have lots of aunts. Also, since it is winter there....I am not sure what they are called...but there are sweaters/coats...that you just basically pull over your head...no zipper and i;ts open from the bottom...I have no idea...but kinda like a pancho..but heavier and longer.
For the men, dress shirts or polos are good. You can catch these on sale here marked down a lot....maybe this time of year you can find the long sleve polos at a bargain!
The lotion suggestion was a definitely a great idea...Lubriderm...Oil of Olay is huge there in Jordan...very expensive and the older ones like it. Nutrogena..sunscreen is good idea.
If you wanted to take something for the kids..I suggest...Twizzlers and candy canes...the candy canes should be very cheap after Christmas.

Congrats!! Are you ready for NVC?!?! Best wishes down the home stretch!

Star, hang in there. ISA soon he will get the call. Stay positive! You are SO close.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MABROOK!!
Yep, they say that so he doesn't call too much.... I say 3-4 weeks TOPS!
-
You're almost there!! Yay! Good luck!

ISA everything will be OK.

the way I read the post..the visa is already placed in the new one. The old passport should no longer be valid (did they cut the corner of it or drill holes or mark it as cancelled/invalid). What exactly are you worried about...the paperwork not matching the new passport number? I don't see a problem as the visa is in the "correct" passport....wouldn't hurt to carry both together when travelling.

Congrats!!! Great Job!

Welcome to the US!

You can file the I130 and then "upgrade" the petition when you get your naturalization certificate. Only citizens can file the I129.

I would look into the life event wording with your insurance company. We are in open enrollment now. We only have 30 days from the life event which I thought was marriage. I am way past that..so I called and spoke with a rep. They advisesd just adding her as a dependent to my policy and when she comes to the US her current coverage will cease and then the life event will take place *her losing coverage* and then I can add her.

GG, here's hoping you see an approval soon! Best wishes.

S and S girl you know i would too...
Tamera, they told me they sent him one too but i hate trusting that to ever show up on time and i do believe this has given me OCD is that possible????
I have no clue how i will be during AP, perhaps i should pick up running again
You can come to my house and eat pizza. That seemed to make you happy!!
At some point you just have to let go, like letting a child fly the nest. And you know those moroccans have no concept of time. He is going to make you nutty when he first gets here. (getting to job interviews on time, mosque on time, you know the drill)
Glad you are so close to the finish line. And do not talk about AP if you are OCD
When a MENA person says "30 minutes" that equates to 300+ minutes in US time. 1 hour = 5 hours, 1 day = 5 days. You get the point dontcha?!?!

Kelly, no visa in hand yet....I left my mobile at home today so I haven't had a chance to talk to her today. Than's maybe a good sign...you know she's trying to reach me to tell me and I am not able to answer...I will catch H3LL for it I know...but SO worth it. ISA she will be here Dec. 1 Not airline ticket yet...but not too many travellers to/from Jordan this time of year.

THANKS SO MUCH EVERYONE!Welcome back.
Can I just say I am a little confused? Your wife or fiance got the visa? Maybe I am reading this wrong, but what it sounds like is that she was your fiance, and she got the K-1, but then you got married while there. Is that correct?
We were already legally married in the Spring. This trip we just had the wedding reception a few weeks before the interview.
Wow, thanks for the clarification! I haven't kept up with your case and I was concerned that your wifes visa was messed up now. What a relief, I can't imagine going through all of that just to have to start again.
Thanks
....fortunately/unfortunately I am pretty well versed in all the small little details and of this whole immigration nightmare (2nd time around for me).
JJ, I will email you
This is for Ib

Lulu just a couple quick questions... how long was the interview? Alot of questions or just a few? Did she need the letter to get in? (ibrahim never got packet 3)
thx. You know we are a bundle of questions these days.
JJ
Our interview was only a few minutes. One guy before us was in the room for 1.25 hours. Everyone else had theirs for about 20-30 minutes. Only 1 question for us. How did you two meet. The others I heard, How did your fiance get his citizenship? How long have you known one another? How did you meet? Where does he live? Where does he work? It's in a semi-private room so you really can't hear much...except for mumbling.
Nope, the letter is not required to get it. His name will be on the list at the guard booth. The appointment letter say 730, but it's first in first out....so if he gets in line at 7 all the better. He goes into the IMMIGRANT VISA LINE, just to the side of the entrance of the embassy. He can park his car in an empty lot near the Abdoun Mall. Tell him to leave his mobile in the car. :-)
I will email you about the medical. Did Ib go to his yet?
I don't mind any questions. I have the first hand experience and I would love to share any knowledge I have. I spoke to Ib the night of our interview and shared with him our experience and gave him some pointers.
I am still out of it and of course working like crazy so I haven't had time to sit down and write down out experiences. Will do that soon, I promise.

Push him to do the medical ASAP. Never know what happens. Ours was ready for pickup the next day, but we were not able to pick it up for another week. There was one couple there, they came back a few days after their medical appointment and it still was not ready. And their interview was the next morning. Not sure what happened to them. Another guy, at his first medical they were rushed and didn't fill the forms out correctly. For some reason he was delayed for several months in order to submit his medical forms to the consulate. DON'T LEAVE FOR TOMORROW WHAT YOU CAN DO TODAY!!! Trust me on that one and especially when it's in your (or your husbands) hands to get it done now. You have to tell him how important it is to leave nothing out of the equation. One piece of paper could come back to haunt you.
-
Hope you hear something soon. Best wishes.

Totally awesome!! Congrats!

Delta to jordan was a nice flight. Go to Delta.com to book it. The prices are not too bad out of JFK. Less than RJ.
In the past I've used I sugguest Skyway International Travel in Michigan. Very good agency and ALWAYS had the best prices you couldn't find cheaper anywhere else. Speak with Layla. ;-) Phone: (248) 559-2800

I agree with the others...but if it makes you feel better prepared....see if you can avoid involving HR as they make things so complex and full of red tape (sorry to all the HR colleagues). My company has a 800 # to verify employment...yeah right like the consulate could even call an 800 #. I got my hands on some company letter head, wrote a letter, just had my boss sign and had the admin notarize it. See if your immediate boss can write you a simple letter or better yet you write it and they just sign it...on company letterhead the better. Very simple they can write: XXX is employed as a xxxx since xxxx with xyz inc. The are a permanent full time employee and their yearly salary is xxx.xx plus benefits.
