  1. good day! i'm confused about my visa category. my visa category was cr1 since we filed it last 2009. but it took so long to process and now my marriage is almost 4 years that supposed to be ir1 already. my interview will be on jan.29 tuesday. my question is do we gonna have a problem when we gonna be there at the us embassy? thanks

No not at all. That is a good thing though coz if u been married 4 yrs to the petitioner u will be given the IR1 visa hopefully.

  2. Hi VJ family!

In my other legal documents such as Diploma, TOR and old identifications, I'd used MA. in my name. But in my birth certificate and my current passport, as well as my new marriage certificate, my name is written MARIA. Would there be any problem should USCIS start to process our visa petition recently posted on 22 January?

Kindly advise. We appreciate all comments.

    Thanks lots and best regards,

    Boy & Bell

TOR and any other school documents are not as important as the Birth certificate and passport. My advise is go with what u have in ur passport especially with what is in ur Birth certificate. When i applied for my citizenship i had a lil issue about my birth certificate reason why it took me 6 months before i was able to be sworn in coz i had to have the name change.

  3. Hi thank you for respond. I received an RFE And now I'm waiting for them to give me an interview date. I am worried if I filed married but separate they will question me about that.

Me and hubby filed our income tax as joint since we got married in 2007. the last 2 years we filed married but separate income tax I am now a citizen and i had no problem at all. they asked me why and i gave them the truth the real reason why.

  4. My mom and dad went for an interview last January 7th, 2013. My dad got a 221g for he had a no criminal records on file written on the nbi clearance. Are there anyone out there on the same boat like us? Its been almost 3 weeks and still haven't heard back from the USEM.

Just pray about it don't worry to much.It happened to me. i was given a 221g but they did not ask for anymore additional documents. it was only checked "wait till u hear from us" .That is a good thing that u are not asked for more documents.

I was worried and waited and the next thing i know my visa was delivered. as long as u was not given the yellow paper then that is a good sign and if the embassy kept ur dad's passport then that is a good sign. Good luck and let us know.

  5. While reading the very long thread about age differences I started thinking about this subject. When my wife Jena and I started seriously chatting online about our future together the subject of children came up fairly early. I was in my early 40's and had never had children. She was in her early 20's and definitely wanted children. Not know whether or not I could have kids I told her God willing we would have children of our own but I could not promise her that it would happen. Giving her my word that we would try was enough for Jena. Thankfully God blessed us with a happy healthy boy 10 months ago.

We wouldn't be together today if I hadn't wanted a family. I wouldn't have pursued the relationship knowing how she felt.

That being said, have you had a heartfelt discussion on the subject?

When hubby and I started chatting online in 2003, we already agreed that we will have no more kids since he already had 2 and i had 2 from past relationship.

To make the story short we were blessed with a now 4 yr. old boy(the only in his family). Kids are always god's best gift.

  6. Hello y'all fellow members,

  7. hello people been a while since i was here i just wanna know if can i apply for a job without ead?but will get my SSN soon?

    thank you

Be patient. DO NOT work unless you have your EAD. If you work without proper documentation that means u are working illegally which will cause you trouble in the future.

  8. Hello fellow members,

I had my N-400 interview scheduled last June 7 and eventhough i received a cancellation letter few weeks before that day..i still went to the USCIS Atlanta office on the day of my interview( june 7th).

There were no government employees there except for the security guards telling the applicants who came there for their interview that it was cancelled.

Today i called the USCIS customer service center about my interview being cancelled and i was told the same thing to just wait for the rescheduling letter.

    My questions are:

    1. With the interview being cancelled would it cause any problems in the future?

2.Would it affect my eligibility for citizenship?

    3. What should i do now? Should i just wait for that reschedulling letter they told me to come in the mail?

I am just worried about this ,anybody had gone through this same interview being cancelled?

    4. How long before we will have our interview again? any ideas?

    Thanks.

  9. Ok i went to my scheduled N-400 interview in Atlanta today but they sent everybody who are scheduled that day for interview home.

I recieved that cancelation letter few weeks earlier but i did not took the risk i went there today anyway.

They told me to just wait for another letter for the rescheduling. Anybody who had experienced the same? How long it's gonna be before you can be reschedule again? Any Idea?

  10. Hello everyone,I have some question about getting the interview canceled not by me but by USCIS.I was suppouse to have it within 10 days and yesterday I got the letter from them saying that my interview is canceled because the unforseen circumstances and that they will let me know when they shedule a new one.I checked it on their official site and nothings is changed .It says like my interview is still on and there is no mention about the canceling.I'm gonna call them as soon as they are open to see what is going on but if anybody knows something about it please feel free to give me some information about it.Sorry for bad english,I'm still learning and thank you all for this site because it helped me a lot.

I have a scheduled interview on June 7th and i also got the same letter. i still would go show up in my interview.

  11. Why don't you just call the 800 number or go online and schedule an info pass? Everybody's situation is different. Something as important as this needs to be addressed directly. It may be that they over scheduled for that date but you won't know unless you speak with them. I wish you all the best.

Ive read some posts whose scheduled interview were cancelled not just N-400. I will still go ahead and attend my interview as scheduled . Just dont wanna take the risk.

  12. Hello fellow Vj'ers,

  13. 1722 is the transcript

More than 1 bill/statement per year. One per quarter on the bank statements, etc.

Another question,,we filed our income tax since 2007 till 2011..and i only have the past 3 yr tax transcript frpm 2008 -2010. coz that time i requested the trasncript we havent filed our 2011 income tax yet.do i need to get the 2007 and 2011? I am filing based on a 3 yr. marriage to a USC.

Thank you so much for your answer..i really appreciate it.

  14. Hello fellow Members,

Hope y'all are doing great. Ok I have a quick question regarding my N-400 Application.

I did my biometric on April 5 and i just got my appointment letter for my Citizenship Test and Interview on June 7th.

In the letter or checklist of documents that i need to bring, one of this says i need to bring the IRS 1722 letter for the past 3 years.

We filed our income tax joint yearly since we got married in 2007. This year we filed married but separated for hubby's back child support reasons.

I already have my INcome tax since 2007 till 2011 and also have my last 3 years Tax Transcript.

    Here is my question:

    1. what is this letter from IRS 1722 ? Is it needed eventhough i have complete Income Tax yearly and Tax Transcript from 2007 till 2011?

2.How about the proof of marital union evidence,,do i have to provide the whole 3 yrs of utility bills, bank accounts, etc or one bill each year would do?

I would appreciate your help. thanks.

Also i forgot to ask.. Is IRS Letter 1722 the same as tax transcript? if yes do i have to get the 5 yrs coz i only have 3 yrs. tax trasncript ( based on Marriage to USC). I only have the 2008, 2009 and 2010..do i need to get from the year we got married (2007 up to 2011?)

Please help as i am confused. thanks

  16. Hello fellow VJ Members,

If u all remembered my post about 2 months ago asking for ur prayers for my friend's daughter. Praise God ! after 80 days in Eggleston Hospital in Atlanta,,our lil Angel is finally home.

She is home finally and still recuperating although we are still praying for her kidney as she is a candidate for a Kidney transplant.

Thank you all so much for your prayers. There is definetely nothing impossible with God.

  17. Hi everyone. I am a Filipina, a mother of a 10 yr old boy and married to a US citizen 6 months ago. I came in the US with a K1 Fiance Visa. I am aware that having a K1 visa, I am priviledge to bring my son with me coming to the states but we didnt apply a visa for him at the same due to some financial issues. Me and my husband decided to apply another petition for him when my paperworks are done. According to my research I need to wait for my permanent residence visa(green card) and it will take 2 years to show up on the mail plus another one year of process for my son's visa. Over all its 3 years of waiting and as a mother it's a torture! Is there anybody who can give me an information about other types of visa that we could use for my son that i dont have to wait 2 years before i can start filing for him? Is it possible that my husband will be his sponsor coming here in the US? If so, what type of visa? Thank you very much...

    RCK

IS ur son on a K1 follow to join? if so u can go ahead and get him if u applied for him as follow to join. If not there is another quickest way to get ur son here. I had two kids that came here in 2010.Have ur USC husband file for an I130 for ur son . the process will take about 6 months.

  18. Thank you guys for all your inputs. I really appreciate it...for now i will try to find under the table jobs with my bike... i am communicating with his family about this but I dont want to wait and sit and do nothing...

any more ideas i will surely appreciate

    poods

DO NOT work without legal authorization. Do not put yourself in trouble. U can not work under the table unless there is a work permit. I f u have to sell some stuff of your husband so u can come up with AOS money that would help i think. Or call the consulate ,ask for help and explain to them ur situation.

Do something about ur situation but do it the right way.

Do not take any chances or risk that wud cause u trouble in the future.

  19. My son is 5 yrs old and and was approved for US Citizenship and will be receiving his US Passport in about 2 weeks. He already has his Philippine Passport. I was told he will need a Travel Clearance from DSWD in order to fly out of the Country. This will be his first time to travel out of the Philippines.

Now here is the problem i have. I went to DSWD to inquire since im still waiting for my son's passport to arrive and they told me he does not need a Travel Clearance since he has a US passport and that's what i will present upon exit at the airport imigration. I did inform them that my son is an iligitamate child since me and his mom is not married. But they insisted that no Travel Clearance is needed. BUT according to the DSWD website all iligitamate children traveling with the father requires a Travel clearance from DSWD.

SO WHO DO I BELIVE? The DSWD website or the DSWD People who work there? Which is correct of the two?

I dont want to be leaving with my son and run into a problem with the airport immigration at the last minute and miss our flight to the US, that would be very costly becuse the tickets i have can not be changed to a different date anymore. Its eaither we fly at that moment or i buy 2 more tickets again If somthing goes wrong and we miss our flight and thats unexceptable.

So who should i speak to regarding this contradiction?

If anyone has any answers to this please help or any numbers i can call to get the right answers.

    Thank you.

If your child is exiting the Philippines with just US passport (he has no Phil. passport) then you have to have an exit clearance for him. I travelled with my 2 month old son that time and he only had US passport so i had to get him the exit clearance.
