Hello fellow member,
Hope everybody is doing great. I filed my N-400 on February 18 and will have my biometric appointment on April 5, 2012.
As soon as i get my citizenship i am planning to go back to school. I am interested in any medical field having been employed in one of the hospital here in GA.
My question is i wanna further my college degree by going back to school specifically to be a Radtech.
I don't know where and how to start the process?
ANy suggestions or links u can share for me to get some ideas? I had a Bachelor's Degree in the Philippines but is working as CNA in a hospital here.
I would appreciate any help. Thank y'all.

Hey guys I really need your help on this. My fiance K-1 Visa will be sent to her address within 5-10 days. Now, She's 2 months pregnant and she wants to come to the US before March 23 but I told her it would be convenient to fly her here on a third week of April just to get everything ready before anything else. She kept insisting that she needs to come a little early before she become 6 months pregnant based on what the Consular Officer told her? Is this a fact??? I just need some suggestion from you guys. Because all I know is that for K-1 Visa holder beyond 7 months pregnant coming to the US is not acceptable at all to travel?? I don't know yet just kind of curious. Everyone please help me on this I'm confused..
i travelled to the Philippine when i was 7 months pregnant. Airlines would ask for doctor's authorization to travel.

Got it, thanks so much!
My son is exactly the same: positive skin test but negative on xray.
May I know, what did you send in the AOS as proof that she was undergoing medical treatment with the health department?
Maybe asking for documented proof from health department and giving this info to Civil Surgeon would help?
I don't know the answer to ur question, sorry. My 2 kids came here on an IR2 visa(they were granted 10 yrs.green card) so they did not have to adjust status or remove condition.
But am sure after ur child completed the 9 months medication she/he will be given the certification of completion of medication as proof.
I came here on a K1 visa and my USC husband petitioned my 2 kids through I-130..so when they came here they just got their 10 yr. green card a week after they arrived here.

Thanks for the reply! We will definitely visit our nearest health department and take it from there.
According to the remarks on his medical report, it says not started on LTBI treatment, so I guess that's what the follow up medical is about.
We haven't received any letter from the health department in our area. I screen all our mails and I'm sure I didn't miss it.
Is this 9month medication for free at the health department?
sorry forgot what LTBI stands for. Like i said my daughter had positive skin test but negative on xray. she did not have TB but she has to do medication for 9 months(she's done with it) here in our county's health department.
Yes it is free and no cost the only thing u have to do is go to ur health dept once u are set up every month (once a month) with the child and u are good for 9 months. Of course gas costs but its worth it.

Hi everyone!
We are now in the US on K1 visa with my son (K2).
The pre-departure medical gave me a copy of my son's medical report and it says that he needs to do medical follow up within 1 month upon arrival in the US.
My question is: where do we need to have his follow up medical exam taken? Does it need to be with civil surgeon too?
Another thing is we're past the one month stage, we're here for 1 1/2 months now (my fault). Will that affect anything?
I hope someone with the same experience could shed us some light.
Thank you!
What medical for ur son are u talking about? Is it for his TB medications ? U should have received a letter from the Health Department in your area so ur son can start his medication for free. My daughter did that and we got a letter from the health dept. a few weeks from the time my kids arrived here. Maybe u got the letter in the mail and throw it thinking it was junk mail.
If i were u go to ur nearest health dept and ask together with ur son's medical records.
DOn't take this for granted coz this is very important and the health dept or US immigration is very strict when it comes to situation (health) like this.
My daughter completed her 9 months medication and was given a certificate which is also very important for future legal documents.

You can check it here
thank you all.

I hope ur sister will not have any issues after coming here on a tourist visa and marrying an LPR. Tourist visa is not for marriage purposes.

Hello Fellow Members,
It's been a long time since i've done checking case status online (ROC time).
10 days ago i sent my N-400 application and i already received an email, text and letter in the mail from the USCIS telling me that my application is in process.
Now my questions are:
1. How would i check the status of my case online? Is it too early to check?
2. What is the best way to study for the citizenship test? anybody can share?
Thanks for all ur support.

Hello again VJer's!
I do thank all for forum advice on my topics and other postings! I am question and I am trying to figure out the best way to handle it! For the past 6 months while waiting for the NOA2, my fiance's 2 kids came down with TB. They have been undergoing treatment with antibotics for 6 months. They recent had their x-ray and exam. One child's x ray was clear and just has to take antibotics and vitamins to the end of Feburary. The doctor said the other child needs meds for a 1-2 more months. Her doctor will give them their medical history of treating the boys for the medical at ST. Luke's. I don't want to send them medical exam if their is a strong possiblity of failing the TB test. USEM is very clear when it comes to TB and visas. What is the best advice because I don't want to send them to the medical exam if they could be denied clearance and cost more money? Also, is the vaccination included in the medical exam fee or is that extra?
CFO seminar. Can the CFO seminar be done before visa interview or is it normal done afterwards?
Thanks,
Just let ur fiance's kids complete the medication in Pinas so they willbe cleared and granted a visa.
My 2 kids got their visa..my daughter had positive skin test but negative on xray so they were able to get their visas and my daughter had to complete her medication for 9 months for free here in the dept. of health in GA.
The kids won't be scheduled for interview and medical unless they are clear of any medical issues.
Better to wait and fix it first.

I planned to do that when my two kids ages 12 and 8 got their visas 2 years ago. I decided and was more at ease if i travel with them since it's their first time to get on a plane.
U can ask for airlines assistance and there will be a few bucks charges i think it was around $100 and they will make sure the minors will get to their final destination safe.
What i did was i just decided to go home and travel with my kids(did that for just a week). There was one 12 yr. old boy who was a passenger of the same flight we had and he was travelling alone escorted by the airline personnel.

If you are low on cash, get your kids a passport card only. It's $30 and serves as proof of citizenship if needed. Once you have more money get them a passport book and use the card as backup, just in case.
I just read about passport card and it should be above 16 to get one. My kids are only 15 and 10.

Really? what is that passport card? That's the first time i heard about it? IS it still some kind of legal proof of citizenship ?
I will do that for sure if it's only $30 .
Thanks for the suggestions.

Nothing to worry are freak out over, just pay the $63.00 you owe with a check of some sorts. Then make sure you keep a record of that, should it be needed at the time of the N-400 interview.
Thank you so much. I will go ahead and do it tomorrow.

Hello fellow members,
How are y'all. Please bear with me as i am confused right now with some issues.
I just sent my N-400 application and the check was already encashed.
Here are m y concerns.
1. what does it realy mean if m y check was encashed? does it mean they are processing my N-400 application?
2. If i will get my US citizenship, do i really need to get right there and then a US passport for me and my 2 kids?
3. We do not have plans of going out of the country anytime soon so i don't see a ned to get the passports right away. would this be okay?
4. I have the money saved for the passports but it is not really a priority right now..bills are my priority for sure.
5. What is the importance of getting the US passports right away after getting ur citizenship.
6. As soon as i get my citizenship do we have to get the passports right away or can we do it later when we need it?
Thanks a lot

I really don't think your in trouble, I think your worrying to much about it, however take care if it.
I would suggest: Do Not write a Money Order, do Not send a personal Check. Go to your Bank and Send a Cashiers Check. You have a reciept and a Bank record.
Save the letters of Confusion. (about the owed balance)
I think you will fine.
They already recieved my N-400 application and it was our joint account personal check. They already cleared or encashed the check. What should i do now? Should i go ahead and pay the balance of $63.00.
Sorry i just starteing to worry since i got the letter yesterday. Thanks

Hello fellow Vj members,
Have a great Sunday y'all. Okay i had submitted my N-400 application last week and i already received a text messge and an email from USCIS that they had received my application.
Now am freaking out coz in the form there was i think a question that asked if u owed any or some kind of tax that are overdue from the state or some kind of that thing.
Yesterday i received a letter in the mail telling me that i dont have any state tax refund cox they took out the tax i owed ( in the amount of $163 and still owe them $63). I did not know about owing them since we thought they already took this out of our income tax last year.
Now am freaking out coz it turned out we still owe $63.00 that i just learned yesterday. Am i gonna be in trouble for this?
Am really so worried if it will affect my N-400 application.
Please help. thanks so much.

Hello VJ community,
My pinay fiance who hails from Barangay Tablon on Mindanao (outside Cagayan de Oro city) in Misamis Oriental will shortly be arriving in the United States via Seattle, Washington. I/we'll now reside in Whatcom County and we're looking for anyone that resides in either Whatcom or Skagit counties that we can communicate with. Like many others, this will be the first time their loved-one has been outside of the Philippines and so I'm looking for avenues of support and/or friends that might be able to assist in her transition.
Perhaps we'll hear from some of you?
Thanks,
Daniel
Is she from Tablon? Coz i am from Bugo, Cagayan De oro city which is about 5 mins. to tablon. Tablon is not outside Cagayan de oro.
Make sure she can eat filipino food and has filipino channel . I never experienced the what they called "culture shock" and homesick".

I'll definitely be praying for her, I hope she makes a full and speedy recovery.
thank u guys,, the family is just hoping for a miracle right now..it's been 16 days and there was no sign of improvement. it is so heartbreaking.

Ok i already sent my N-400 Application last Friday. Now am freaking out if i missed anything.
Please help me.
Here are my questions:
1. In the cover letter do i need my husband's signature ? coz i only signed it "Me being the Applicant"?
2. In the N-400 I signed and dated it (Just me) and i did all the paper work by myself. Does my husband needs to sign the form as well?
3 .These are the following documents i submitted with my application. do u think it's enough or am i missing something?
1. Copy of my green card(front and back)
2. Our marriage certificate
3. Husband's Birth certificate and US passport( he was born in GA)
4. Husband's Divorce Decree
5. Copy of my passport pages
6. 3 yrs joint tax return transcripts for 08,09,and 2010
7.Copy of CRBA of our Son
8. Joint bank Statements for the last 3 yrs we were married
9. Joint utility bills in both our names with same addresses
10. House deed
Am i missing something? Please i am kinda nervous right now. I would appreciate any help. thnx

Do you want to have your name spelled differently? Do you want to change your name so it sounds more like an American name? Do you want to get a middle name? Do you want to get different name instead of the name you were given when you were born?
Thanks a lot, i appreciate it.
CRBA and Passport for baby

Answers:
1. 6 months from the date the visa is issued.
2.I did my CRBA in 2008 and only took me 10 days from the time of CRBA application to getting my son his US citizenship certificate and US passport.
3.I did had my Authenticated Birth Certficate from NSO in diffrent ways and it all worked for me. It depends on where u live and how far u live from the NSO office.
I did get mine by going personally to the NSO office (but had to travel for hours by bus). I did get my kids through a travel agency which it was for me more comfortable coz it was quiker and hassle free from travelling for hours back and fourth plus the expenses and time( which for me was better to get thru a travel agency).
4. Inquire at the US embassy about visa extension and they will give u depends on how valid the reason is.
