Got a letter from USCIS. My interview was rescheduled for November 19.
I wonder why. Oh, well.

If she wants the "brown" one, she just needs to boil a can of ordinary sweetened condensed milk for a couple of hours in a big pot. Doesn't she know this? All women is Russia know this trick. There was no "brown" one in the Soviet Union, you had to boil it. Now you can get anything of course.

I am still registered in my Moscow apartment and I am almost a citizen in US. I renewed my Russian passport through the Houston consulate this year. It wasn't a big deal. They just consider you to be a temporary residing in the US Russian citizen. That's fine with me.

It is exciting to see so many interview notices!

My interview is on November 6. I got the letter on Friday! Very excited.

If I bring my mom over to live with me, what are my health insurance options?
Can I add her to my insurance at work as a dependant? Can she qualify for Medicaid as she is retired? What did other people do in this situation?
Thanks!!!

Hey, Dennis!!!!
Do you remember me? We went throuth the Nebraska office together and had our interviews in Moscow at the same day. I am also in the process of getting my citizenship. I am glad things are good for you guys.
Lena,
Since you are so savvy in this process, can you help me out?
I am thinking about bringing my mom over too. I have a question about the police certificate. My mom lived all over Russia so apparently she will need a certificate from every place she lived. Can she petition them from the central police office in Moscow (and they will request information from all other local offices) or she has to send out inquiries to every place by herself?

Just wondering in case my interview notice gets lost in mail or something...
-
I think it isn't just NSC. It also depends on a local office. Chicago and Minneapolis are super fast. We will see how St. Louis will treat me.
-
Oops, you need one more entry for me. I sent my paperwork on July 17.
Thanks!!!!

Please add me to the list!
My information is in the signature. Thank you!

Has somebody naturalized through St. Louis office? How much time does it actually take?
Thank you, guys!!!!
PS. My NOA1 says 150 days but I know not to trust those.
-
Thank you so much, guys!!!!
-
Just want to know how people prepare for the test.
Are those sample questions in the Naturalization guide enough? Or is there some book I need to study?
-
yes, it is our baby. I will include his birth certificate, thank you!!!!
-
Thank you!!!!

I want to apply for citizenship but Form N-400 doesn't say what supporting documents I need to enclose. The naturalization guide doesn't say it either. Can anybody help me out?
Thank you

Lyuba, congrats..!! Glad to hear the good news...!!!
How is St. Louis? We'll probably drive up there for the memorial weekend.
Thank you so much! I hope you are next in line!
St. Louis is doing good. I am sure you will enjoy it!
Very good news!!!Tracy,
I diidn't congratulate you on your little one. He is so cute! I was so busy that I didn't have time to visit our mommy's thread. Hope all is good for you.

I got an e-mail today stating that my card was ordered on May 2!
Such a nice way to start a week.
It finally happened after more than a year wait in Nebraska. It took California center only a month to approve it.

I got an e-mail today that my case was transferred to California center. Now at least there is hope.

Thanks, Sarah! Yours is a cutie too!!!!
Stina, Mason did really well with shots. He cried a little bit but then calmed down. No fever, no swelling. We have a very good doctor too so it probably played a part.
Good luck with your check-up!!!!

I gained 50 pounds, so far have lost 27. Still a long way to go. My pre-pregnancy clothes seem to belong to somebody else. I am eating really well now so I hope to be back in shape by the summer.
Mason had 2 month appointment and is doing really well.

Sorry, Eveline, I didn't want to rub it in. I hope your next delivery will be easier.
Vernon Family, please don't worry. I am the biggest whinie in the world and I don't tolerate pain well. I did it just fine. In fact contractions are not that bad if you learn to breath through them. Epidurial doesn't hurt and it works magic. Nurses are very skillful and they have seen everything, they will take good care of you.
I don't like onesies that much, I put one under his footie when we go out in cold weather but that's pretty much it. I love footies though, they are great and very comfortable. Get Gerber footies, they are soft and cute, 10 bucks for 3 I think. Carter also makes great stuff. I like those with a zipper - easier to change, especially at night when you do it with your eyes closed. Also easier for hubbies as their fingers turn to be bigger.
Get a good bathtub. One we got as a present was so uncomfortable. Babies don't enjoy baths that muhc until they are about 10 weeks so try to get a good one to minimize an uncomfortable experience.
Sleepsacks didn't work for me as Mason gets too hot in them. Swaddling is better.
A humidifier is a good idea as dry air isn't good for babies, he might get a stuffy nose. Saline drops are great to have too.
N-400 JULY 2008 Filers
in US Citizenship General Discussion
Posted
Moonhunt,
No USCIS officer is allowed to take a vacation until all July filers become citizens.
Now I am at the end of the line.
