Guys, do I really need to take an English proficiency test like TOEFL or IELTS before getting a job there?
They say that if you are a foreigner and is applying for a job in the US, chances are, the employers would let you take an English Proficiency Test.
Is this true or just a case-to-case situation?
Please advise...
for getting a job, they dont really care, as long as you have the license and if you can take well to them during the interview i dont think they would even bother to ask for any english certificate...all they care about is the license...
Hi sis, you dont need to take the TOEFL or IELTS,ang hinihingi lang nila ay ang RN license mo.
My sister is now in CA,and nag take siya ng NCLEX last June 2008, and hindi naman siya ni require ng English test.
Goodluck.
March or April din ako mag eexam, I have my ATT na.
Ang TOEFL and CGFNS ay for visa screen only. Some states nag re require talaga ng TOEFL AT CGFNS Certificate
Goodluck and Godbless

My interview was last January 16, Consul gave white paper and Blue paper
requesting additional documents for sufficient income.I submitted the documents today Janaury 20.
They ask for my passport but did not pay the delbros. They just tell me to wait,
My question is why they did not ask me to pay the delbros?
How can they return my passport without paying the visa delivery? I submitted all the needed documents today.
It was 29 pages from his employer(contract, 2008-2009 military basic salary)assets, and bank statements.
If they will grant me the visa, how long is the waiting time for issuance?
thank you

i have a co-sponsor too because im still lookin for a job... i believe that it is allowed as long as that person has enough income to support you... just pray my friend.. there's no harm in tryin..
Some consuls dont accept co - sponsor
-
Do you have pay stubs to support the commanding officer's letter??
yes I have
-
There is the problem. The consul is saying that with his child support payments, he is effectively only making $15,000 a year and that is not enough to support another person.
Oh yeah! I met the 125% of the poverty guideline but the consul said after child support you will only have $12,000 and that is not enough for my fiance and me.
Does he have any other kind of assets to make up for the difference needed? Like a stocks/ house / etc .... I think even 401k's can be used as a asset.
If not enough evidence can be shown that the income is sufficient .... the only option I really see is you two get married in the RP and go from there ...
We will pray for you .... god bless and hope it works out for you two.
Ooooopss.... just read a few posts above mine that said the same thing I just said hehe ... sorry
Thank you

Here are the things that I will submit
1. evidence that the present income is $39,000 ( letter from the Commanding officer)
2.proof of child support
3.written explanation that kids are partially dependent
any supporting documents needed,
Thank you
Sounds like you have it covered. The employment letter from his commander should help.
Good luck.
The $39,000 is his present annual income, the commanding officer is helping us, what other requirements should i include in support of sufficient income?
Thank you
Does he have any assets, investments, real estate? Do you have letters from any bank accounts showing his current balance and deposit history? That is all I can think of. The proof of child support, does that show the amounts he pays and how often?
yes, but he cannot provide it because he is in combat.

Hi , I will submit the required documents on Monday at USEM
The Consular officer is requiring me to submit the evidence that the petitioner has sufficient income of $31,000
And below that there are 3 options on what to do next:
1.Your next appointment
2. wait until you hear from us.
3.submission of required documents at window 17-20 M-Thursday 1 - 2 pm
The Consular officer only the number 3 options.I think its a good sign that they are only requiring me to submit the needed documents and not AP or requiring me for another interview.
Hope things goes well.

My fiance called USEM this morning to ask status of our case because as I said to your post earlier we Use Co-sponsor but the Consul did not accept it,Since my fiance cant look for a new job because he is still in pain in his surgery., so we ask the help of the congressman, and we found out this morning that our case is under review, I hope that we have some good news for next coming week, I had my Interview last Nov 3,2008 and still waiting,. and also my fiance ask the lady that he spoke on the phone and ask about co-sponsor thing and the lady said that Usually USEM don't allowed Co-sponsor but its still on the CO who will Interview to you the decision if they will accept it or not,. what window you had an Interviewed. Just have faith as you said Everything happen for a reason..
I would not expect anything within a week or weeks when your case is under review. Think months, because once under review most people wait a very long time. The good thing is that your petition wasn't denied so at least you are still in the game.
I received letter from my fiance employer indicating his annual income and also a letter from my fiance that his 3 kids are partially dependents to him, he pays child support for them.
And also in support he, provides supporting documents and just in case they will make an inquiry i have co- sponsor , in case they will ask for it.

hi, How can I locate the senator/congressman in TN?
Thank you
-
when the consul returned back your passport, is that a sign of visa denial?
What else did they tell you? Do you need to provide additional documentation?
Consul gave said that she needs some documents"that the petitioner has sufficient income to support 5 person" and i need to submit it before thursday.
She said that they dont accept co sponsor, but there is no harm in trying. My question is
1. Can we use co- sponsor? what papers do we need ? 1-134 for co sponsor? do we need co sponsor income tax return?
2.What others documents we need to submit in support of sufficient income?
Pls help me, Thank you, Godbless
No It's not denial, my passport given back to me also during my Interview and same as yours my fiance income is not sufficient also, and the consul who Interviewed to me did not accept our co-sponsor. what we do is we ask a help of the Congressman, and now our case is under review, just wondring why they only give until thursday to submit the required documents, because on my case we have a 1 year to provide it, and why you are 5 people did you have kids for petition, well i wish you good luck
My fiance has 3 kids. How can be locate congressman/senator in TN? tnx

Thank you for all the replies.
I Know that God has reasons for this.
My fiance and I had some misunderstanding. Its not my fault,I know that he is upset, but he needs to control his temper.
if we cannot overcome this problem, its God's will.

My interview is done an hour ago, but the consul returned my passport, and she gave me a paper that I shoyld returned back to the embassy on Monday - Thursday to submit the papers.
Consul said that the income tax is not enough for 5 dependents, 2007 income tax shows that the income is only $15,000 and they need $31,000 for 5 dependents. What should I do now.Pls i really really need your advice on what to do in this matter.
Thank you very Much.I am really confused at this time.
I'm always confused as to why come to the US if the petitioner is not in country. It is a lot less expensive to support a beneficiary in the RP than it is in the US so best stay in the RP for now.
Isn't there some way to keep the K1 active while waiting? I know the visa, once issued, is good for a year, but I'm not aware of any hold/pause period that can be applied.
I know it is a sad time for you - very sorry for the unhappiness that you must be feeling. I hope it works out for you in the end. If you aren't worried that your fiance might change his mind, if you are secure emotionally, unless he has family that is willing to take good care of you and the other dependents, you are likely better off in the RP for now. Living in the US is no walk in the park, that is for sure.
Yes, it is not a good day for me.I just need peace of mind.My fiance keep on telling me that I dont understand him, his kids are not totally dependent to him, they live with their mother, and he pays child support. He lives alone, so he dont have custody of the children.
My family is in the US, and I dont want to tell them what happened today.
I need space today, and peace of mind

Consul gave me 3 papers.it stated that'Petitoner should present sufficient income of $31,000 for 5 dependents.
In his 1-134 affidavit of support its $30,000.but the consul said that she needs income tax. My fiance is a US Army but she said that it is not 100% above poverty but it should be 125% above poverty level.
Confused on what to do,My fiance is in Iraq.
