    Fiancee Visa Question(California),Need help from Nurses

    Hi! Good evening to visajourney members.. I'm an American citizen residing here in California working as a RN.. I was born here in USA but then my parents decided to go back to Philippines when I was 4 y/o.. Then after I finished my college,I went back here in USA last 2007 and I've been a RN for almost 2 years.. I just have a question regarding the Fiancee visa.. I decided to arrange the papers of my Fiancee who is currently living in the Philippines right now thru Fiancee Visa(I first met her when I was 12 y/o and we've been in a relationship for 4 years). She graduated from nursing school last May,2009 and I just want to find out..Before she's going to be here in California, does she still need to take her local board exam in Philippines before she can practice to be a RN here in California? Is the local board exam required before you could take the NCLEX? What other test does she need to pass before being eligible to be RN here in California?

    I know the other things she need just in case she only needs to pass the NCLEX exam (like SSN, working permit and being married when she will be here in USA).. I would really appreciate all your help.. Godbless to all!

    NCLEX lang,hindi ko nagamit ang PI Nurse license ko, kasi hindi naman magagamit yan dito sa US.

    Please tell your fiancee to apply to BON(California and have her ATT)

    Thanks saunders! Tagad2 ka rin b California and did you also apply for NCLEX without your PI nurse license? Sorry dahil marami aq tanong bcoz I want to make sure before I arrange my fiancee's papers.. I'm gonna wait for your reply.. Thanks and Godbless!

    My younger brother did not able to take the local board exam in PI because malapit na siyang mag turn 21, so kailangan niyang makasunod agad sa mga parents ko.He did not take the PI local exam and nag apply siya sa BON California,and thanks nakapasa siya last May 7 lang.

    So tell your fiancee no need to take the local exam, advice her na e gather na lahat ng papers and mga requirements sa NCLEX

    like diploma, TOR and ung sa NBI(biometrics)hard card ata yon,goodluck

    my parents were petitioned last 2007 and got the Immigrant Visa Application Processing Fee Bill date December 31, 2007.

    they are stuck in that step since then due to events.

    can they still pay for that bill now? does this have expiration or grace period of some sort?

    i hope someone can help me with this :)

    2007 or 2008?

    who is the petitioner?

    my parents before was petition by my grandparents and they are late also in paying the Visa fee bill.

    We went to do Biometrics today and they let us do it. Our apptointment was scheduled for May 30th but we will be in Florida so I took my travel paperwork and the lady let us through. Hubby was finished in 15 mins.

    I find it funny that NCLEX review in PI is months and in US It's a few days.

    FYI: in the united states they have the kaplan complete course which also takes months! and maybe the 4 days you were referring to for the US is only the sit class class that they have with live lectures which is a part of the complete course of kaplan. if you want to gamble your options and just attend the 30 hours / 4 days class and not do anything else at kaplan then it really is "funny" because i dont think anyone would just pass after sutdying for 30 hours / 4 days... :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs: i took the whoe course includin the few days live lecture! i really enjoyed the whole review.it costs, around 500 USD only and i didnt know if the kaplan makati offers the live lecture only, either you enroll for th whole course with the few dys live lecture or the whole course only.

    JEFF AND MADZ: what were you scoring on your q bank and question trainers? im only getting like 50% - 76% on my q bank and on question trainers i got 66%, 60%, 57%, 63% on question trainer 1,2,3,4...saving 5,6,7, near my exam date...the kaplan q bank questions are hard man!

    i didn't use the Q bank coz its quite expesive hre in the PI.the kaplan questions were really difficut, before i signed up for the review i got a 45%, thet was the diagnostic exam, hahaha! i had 63's several i think then went above 65%, got 67%'s,and 74%'s..around those scores.cant remember my scores, i threw already the graphs that kaplan makes to give your score and its breakdown to the last exam which we didnt even got to find out the answers.i got 84% topped the clss:goofy: yeeyyy!!! just aim to be always over 65% and you'll do fine. the questions in the Question Trainer were almost similar to the NCLEX, i mean, the approach. another tip from kaplan is that after reading the question, do not think about the answer right away. go to the options. and use the strategies, ABC's, prioritizations...etc

    by the way, don't forget the normal values!wink! it'll help!hmm..what else..i had a question about anemia, sulpfonylureas..hmm...ill try to tecall the others hheheheh!

    took the xam at 9am and got out of the exam venue at around 10. stopped ta 75. i have 2 other friends who took the kaplan whole course and the computer stopped at 75.they also passed. my other classmate who reviewd in another review center finished the exam at 3pm! and got 265 quesiton..he passed too! yeeyy!

    just practice, practice and practice. and relax esp the day before the exam. i really made the right decision to take kaplan. heheh!

    hhaha! i had to rescheduled several times, almost took the exam in london, but i feel more comfortable at home, in PI so i waited till almos the expiration of ATT and glad Princess let me have an early vacation. if there is anything i can do to help, just pm me!GOD BLESS!!!!!

    My ATT expires July 18, and until now hindi pa rin ako nagpapaschedule, is that ok that I take the exam 2 or 3 days before the expiry date?

    good day, i am getting the documents for adjustment of status, but I do not know, what address should i use?

    My husband is deployed right now,and before he leave the US, we have both decided that I will be staying at my parents house in NJ.

    what address should I use? my husband address in TX, or my current address here in NJ?

    Use the best address that you will be able to receive mail at.

    We used my wife's (USC) parent's address for mailing (on all USCIS Forms except the G-325A). If you and your husband are able to pick up mail at his Texas address quickly then it's fine.

    But I'm guessing you're the beneficiary and will need to have quick access to the documentation sent out by USCIS... to bring to biometrics appointment etc.

    Mailing address doesn't really matter as long as a you have quick access to USCIS correspondence and you can explain your address situation at the AOS interview.

    He wants to file AOS as soon as possible, and he wants me to be with him on August because his new assignement will be in Italy.

    what paperworks do we need in support of AOS application for military spouse.

    1.payment of $1010

    2.cover letter

    3.Form 1-485

    4.copy of my passport

    5.copy of K1 visa

    6.NOa2 (Notice of action)

    7.copy of 1-94

    8. My birth certificate

    9. marriage certificate

    10.passport -type photos(2)

    11.G-325A

    12.1-693 Medical exam

    13.1-864 affidavit of support

    14.1-765 application of EAD

    15.1-131 application for travel document

    Do get some kind of deployment paperwork - orders - make sure you put USC deployed/deploying - that's the info I received for our ROC from the military help line.

    Once you have your GC and your husband is deployed to Italy file for expedited naturalization based on 319 (B) if the deployment is 12 months or more.

    hey evebody I have a question .My husband is deploying right now and he will be back just in june.we filled all the paperwork fot the AOS.and is ready to sent to Chicago ,but I was the one who did the front cover letter for all the documents that we are sending .Do you guys think that I'm able to sign for him ,since he is not here .I even have a power of attoney .Does anybody know anything?Should I sent a copy of his order saying that his deployng now ..or not ??Thanks ]

    As AOS is basically YOUR application, you should sign it. Your husband signs the I-864 form.

    You need 2 more photos for the EAD and 2 more i think for the AP (travel document).

    As a Military Spouse... I think you have the option of expedite your case... I dont really know how.. but you can call the USCIS line for military members and ask.
