ok, for the bad news.. NVC SUCKS!!!! maybe it's just my hormones or what but i've been so irritated with them.. the retarded RFE finally arrived a week after they sent it.. it says that there was a gap in the residency record. huh? and i need a police clearance.. then at the bottom: PHILIPPINES: NBI clearance is equivalent to the police clearance.. DUH!!!

so i spoke with an operator.. she said that there was something wrong with item number 2,3, 20, and 22. i was like, you're kidding, right? the letter that i have in my hands here only mentions item 20. then i told her that item 2 only requires the word NONE and item 3 is N/A. item 20 is filled out just fine.. he has lived in iloilo city since age 16.. and i already sent in the NBI!!!!! and i don't understand what was wrong with item 22.. it's not his fault he has had 1 job.. what did i do wrong there now? i was very close to yelling but i kinda held myself.. so she then said i have to re-do the entire part 1 of the ds-230, complete with his signature, and send it in again.

she then said that for item 20, i have to state in there the year when he turned 16, state where the heck he was living and continue until the present time... WHAT THE HECK???? ok fine!

just venting.. and venting some more.. first of all, i have been having really bad preggy symptoms.. i can't eat or sleep.. then NVC is getting on my nerves.. AND I NEED MY HUSBAND HERE!!!!

so forget OCT interviews or NOVEMBER for that matter.. we'll be lucky if we even get a DEC interview!

then why would NVC require him to have a police clearance? they already have the NBI. he hasn't lived anywhere else but Iloilo since 16..

i hope they know what they are doing over there..

anybody has had this happened to them? I'm petitioning my husband and we got his NBI clearance last month.. sent it in with the DS-230 and i made sure everything was in order, etc.. then the other day, i spoke with an operator at NVC, asking what info was missing from the DS-230 and she said I HAVE NO POLICE CLEARANCE!!

ano ba yan??? dba yung NBI and POLICE CLEARANCE are the same thing?? so needless to say, she got an earful from me although it wasn't her fault.. so i dont' know what to do now.. so frustrated.. had my husband get a police clearance in case they won't accept the NBI..

so dumb!

so, after i got back i went to work right away.. then around friday, 8/29, the AVR said they found info missing or incomplete and that they mailed the letter on aug 29.. WHAT THE HECK??? well of course i had to work over the weekend, then the holiday came.. then i had to work after the holiday.. :angry:

OH YES WE DOOOOO!!!!!! IT'S GREEN. IT'S HALF A PAGE. IT'S CALLED AN NBI CLEARANCE IN THE PHILIPPINES. WHO THE HECK IS WORKING ON MY CASE?? HOW CAN THEY NOT KNOW THAT?? THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF FILIPINOS HAVE SENT IN PETITIONS TO NVC WITH ONLY AN NBI CLEARANCE BECAUSE IT IS THE SAME THING AS THE POLICE CLEARANCE HAD THEIR CASES COMPLETED JUST FINE.. AND NOW THIS??!!!

sad to say on my part, i just lost my cool. because that is stupidity on their part.. so the operator said she will have them review it again.. JEEEEZZZZ!!

and of course i still don't have that retarded RFE that they sent.. hello... i live in the united states... letters don't take that long to arrive here..

so they were both sent in to NVC together, right? i don't think it will hurt if you send in the hard copy now.. or maybe wait til friday. you don't need to send it in express.. there's no point. i said friday because they might not have generated it yet.. but i don't think it will harm it if you send it in..

but don't listen to me.. just thinking out loud! haha..

i called NVC earlier this morning. they said that the IV bill is showing as paid but that the DS-230 is still under review.. it's been a week already.. hurry up! hehehe.. just kidding..

so that letter was because i paid the IV bill online on the same day they sent the letter. or something like that. false RFE.

i'm kinda hoping for an october interview too, KAHM. october or september will be ok. that gives me time to accrue PTO from work so that i can go to the interview with him.. i already told him to start packing his things..

but Rajaa doesn't want the K3, she wants the CR1...

so are you telling me that your CR1 is LOST SOMEWHERE?? it can't be.. just wait for it to arrive at NVC. then go with LOTO's shortcuts. you can't mail the DS-3032 yet as your file hasn't reached NVC.

as for the K3, if they have given you the K3 interview date already, try to reschedule if you can at a later date to give the CR1 time to finish at NVC..

hi VJ FAMILY! just got home.. miss you guys! i'm soo tired and i might end up sleeping in a few minutes, we'll see..

my case is still stuck over at NVC. they sent a checklist, stating that they are waiting for my IV fee just have to call NVC in the morning and explain that i paid online, i suppose. maybe i will hear the magic words of "CASE COMPLETE" tomorrow.. it's been a week since i sent my DS-230..

as soon as i got the IIN, on the website it immediately says AOS fee "NOT PAID." that means it has been invoiced.. the stupid AVR kept saying "NVC received your petition on blah blah blah.. case number assigned is blah blah blah.." never changed until i paid the AOS bill online. then it changed to "the NVC has received your AOS fee bill on.. " as soon as the AOS bill was invoiced, i emailed NVC.

i don't recommend emailing right now. takes forever for NVC to receive it.. better for you to just generate your own DS-3032 using James' Shorcut for generating your own barcode then send it in via snail mail.. after a billion failed attempts at emailing (i couldn't get an auto response,) i finally succeeded making a new account for my husband with GMAIL. well, that took 12 days for NVC to receive.

for all CR1 vs K3 or both questions, pls direct them to STEVE, our resident expert in the field..

even if he can't fly here until febuary, Rajaa, doesn't the visa have a 6 month validity? go for CR1. much better in the long run. same to you, cmnb. try to schedule your K3 interview like 2 - 3 months after approval so that you can pursue CR1.

most of the time, both will be approved at the same time. then both will go to NVC but K3 will then be sent to the embassy right away while the CR1 will stay and stew for a while at NVC.

well, you could do just the emailing thing but it seems like normal mailing it is faster.. you are going to pursue the CR1, right? as soon as he gets the K3 interview, try to delay it, like Steve did..

we have to send our husband's birth certificate again, i think. well, it won't hurt anyway. i'm waiting for the IV fee bill to clear then when i get back from my mini vacation (within my vacation. hehe) will fedex the DS-230

yup, AOS is $70 and IV fee is $400. has your stuff arrived at NVC yet? once it has, just go ahead and email the DS-3032.

well, at least there will be a bunch of happy news here in the coming months.. any news from shiri yet?

ok... so I got through NVC they haven't recieved our case yet.. I figured it out with the automated system lol... little slow but I learned hehe

Rajaa, dear.. NVC is a little slow sometimes with receiving stuff from USCIS.. ask LuLu! but just keep calling.. as soon as they got it, call at night, maybe 1030 EST, 0730 PST, and ask for the IIN. just tell them you need it for your records.. as soon as that happens, sign in to the online payment and pay the AOS. if you have the hard copy of the DS-3032 ready, go ahead and mail it. you don't really have to express mail it.. i don't see the point. it will be a while for the bank to clear the AOS fee anyways. i suggest snail mail simply because it took my email 13 days to be received by NVC. had no choice really. didn't have the signed ds-3032 ready. i was about to mail it the other day, but when i called NVC again, they already received the choice of agent.

just paid my IV fee bill online. gonna wait a couple of days for that to clear then i'm gonna send the DS-230. i'm having a great time here with my hubby. we came back to where he proposed to me 1 year 5 months ago. will send in the paperworks once we get back monday..

His receipt said "PAID," correct? i hope he included that with the package. A receipt is a receipt.

Try to get your IIN (invoice identification number) from a NIGHT SHIFT operator at NVC. Call around 10 or 11 PM EST. DOn't tell them you want to pay online. Just say something like you want it just for your records. But night shift operators will give you the IIN anyway even if you don't tell them your reason.

once you get your IIN, immediately go to the state website for AOS online payment. If the AOS fee bill status says "NOT PAID," that means your AOS and your DS-3032 has been generated already. You can pay the AOS fee bill there and then if you want using your checking account OR you can wait until you received the hard copy in the mail. If you decide to pay, as soon as you are done entering your info, the status should change to IN PROCESS. Wait a couple of days for this to change to PAID. Once it has turned to PAID, print out the barcode cover sheet and express mail it to the address on the cover sheet.

You may then email your DS-3032 at this time. I suggest using a GMAIL or HOTMAIL or any other account other than YAHOO. You should receive and automated reply from NVC. NVC might take a while to receive this one. I'm not sure since they haven't received mine yet.

AVR: mine never said "Your AOS fee bill and DS-3032 has been generated." After i paid the AOS online, it just changed to "NVC received the AOS fee bill on ____." So now, i am waiting for it to say that they have accepted the DS-3032 so that i can pay my IV fee bill..
