  1. Hi All,

Just joining the thread. I am already developing an obsession with checking my case status online even though I know there is no way in hell its changed this early on in the piece....lol

    Timeline below....

hahaha.. i do the exact same thing.. check it everyday hoping that MAYBE, just MAYBE, something will change.. of course it doesn't.. but it's a mind game..

    you are not alone...

  2. just make him understand that visa processing in the states takes a millenium to finish. Before we even got engaged, i told my then-boyfriend that visa processing is going to take a while. Didn't try to paint a pretty picture for him or anything and he understood. Right now we are mulling over whether to ahead with CR1 instead of K3, due to more waiting with AOS when he arrives here. He said that he doesn't want to be a bum, lounging around the house when he gets here
  3. Found something: MANILA EMBASSY WAITING PERIODS FOR VISA INTERVIEWS

*When the Embassy receives an approved petition from the State Department’s National Visa Center, the beneficiary has to be queued for a visa interview. The Embassy will send the beneficiary an information packet, which will include the medical and visa interview appointments.

The following are average waiting times for the various immigrant visa categories before an applicant is interviewed, once the Embassy receives the approved petition:*

    Immediate relatives : 70-80 days

    Conditional relatives (CR1) : 70-80 days

    Fiance (K1) : 70-80 days

    Spouse (K3) : 70-80 days

so it looks like they are all about within the same time frame, where interview times are concerned. from other spreadsheets, it looks like about 80-90 days between NOA1 to NOA2 with CSC CR1 cases. tough call...

  4. i paid only $355..

may 14 was the only date in the system, but my notice date was may 13. so i guess that means it was touched. tnx choochoo..

i do want him here the fastest but at the same time thinking about all the hassle of adjusting his status, etc, when he gets here. i have to research trends from the manila embassy. k3 from CSC is just flying? wow.. that's good to know. but then according to their processing times in their website, k1/k3/cr1 are all the same dates.. NOV 17.

    decisions.. decisions..

  5. i'm a citizen, my bro isn't. but i advised him to file anyway so that ma-process na. so he got a lawyer, and the lawyer said the same thing, i guess. file now and adjust it when he becomes a citizen (hopefully next year). there's a number your husband can call to update them on his status as soon as he becomes a citizen: 1-800-375-5283. i got this number from my NOA1..

don't know if my bro included a coverletter..

  6. hi all.. newbie here..

i know i still have a long ways to go before his interview (just basing it on my timeline), but it wouldn't hurt if i join him there, will it? i'm kind of neurotic and must need to be there to make sure he has all the correct paperworks..

he will have to fly to manila from iloilo..

  7. Wow way more information than i even thought i needed lol. Thank you, however how do i just continue down the CR-1 and is there an advantage in timelines?
Just stick to the I-130 and not file I-129F will do CR-1.

    Timelines:

    http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list...co&dfile=No (k-3)

    http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list...co&dfile=No (CR-1)

Look at the total days column.

i'm in the same boat as Rajaa.. debating on whether to file for the K3..

  8. ASSEMBLING FORM I-130 CHECKLIST

Does all the checklist for Form I-130 are the same??? Or it depends on what visa you will apply??? Do my husband need to to include cover letter???

I'm confused about the checklist... some don't need to send cover letter while others have to provide...

My husband is a lawful permanent resident of USA.

i included a cover letter/checklist with mine. just a guide for them on what i have sent. doesn't hurt to do that..

is he going to be a citizen soon? cuz all that I-130 is going to do is kinda sit until he becomes a citizen, when it will be processed faster.. (correct me if i'm wrong, for those who understand this way more than i do!)

my bro is a LPR but he filed the I-130 cuz he will be applying for citizenship before the end of this year. according to his lawyer, he will just have to adjust his status with them from permanent resident to citizenship..

  9. hi all! quite new here.. i'm just going to add myself this list. I sent the I-130 April 30, but wasn't received till May 8 in Chicago. Since then, i have checked online to see if my check has been cashed. Sure enough, on May 15, check cashed. But i still haven't received my NOA1. So i waited and waited. Finally, May 19, i got it in the mail.. Said that the Received date was May 8, Notice date was May 13. It took 5 days to get to me? CSC is in southern california, where i'm from.. sheeesh.. I then signed up online on the USCIS website. Said there that my petition was updated May 14. That means "touched," right? i'm so clueless..

now i'm deliberating on whether to go ahead and file for a K3 or stick with this CR1.. don't understand too much of the CSC timeline and the Manila consular office.. any advise out there pls? thanks...
