because of the way you are thats why i said that...you as a wife has to submit yourself to your husband...you are not ready to do that.
what you were talking was such an immature thing...talking about not brushing the teeth and about your dog...etc etc.. i mean if you are matured enough and ready to be a wife...you wont talk something like that against your husband...if you think you dont love your husband anymore then file for divorce...you dont need to elaborate all the things that he does..my gosh...if your not a housewife type then just be his wife.
SUBMIT??? What century are you from???

Hi, everyone!
My fiancee will be leaving Cambodia in 4 days and her POE will be Atlanta Georgia. This is her first time on a plane, much less, international travel ,and, going through being scrutinized by immigration. She is curious about what happens from the time she enters the immigration area, until she leaves her POE for her final destination. Any tips, hints, or experiences, especially at this particular POE would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hi there
I came in through Atlanta last july, i found the officers very nice. after going through the main immigration desk they send you to customs, to check the brown envelope, I waited there about an hour. But all in all a very good poe. You can also read the poe reviews, you can click this link to take you there. http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/poereviews.php
I wish you a happy renunion and congratulations.
Hey, thank you so much for your advise. I will for sure go to the Atlanta airport website. Great idea!!

I only visted my Cambodian fiancee 1 time and for only a week before starting the K-1 Petition. It's been approved. I am sure Cambodia is a high risk visa country. Although, before sending anything, I spent a lot of time reading forums on VJ and asking questions. We managed to amass a large amount of "proof" during my visit and in the times we were apart. Preparation is EVERYTHING!
-
Kind of interesting...I guess it depends on what country you are coming from. My fiancee was able to get a one way ticket from Cambodia to the US, cheaper than one with a return trip.

well...how do you preserve the whole convo?? it seems that you can only print that little part of the combo that u did the print screen for, right???
Ohh I dont think they care about what you talked about and dont need to see the entire conversation... but the logs will show a time, date and by selecting several to print it will show that your contact has been consistant...
Thank is correct. I had about 6 months of conversations on Yahoo and I could only print the first page of each. This seemed to work fine and at least showed that we chatted almost everyday.

I have seen that most people have "touch" with a date listed on their K-1 application timeline. I assume that they get this info from the online USCIS status at the USCIS website. However, for me it only says "Current Status: Case received and pending." I mailed my K-1 application in on December 2, 2008 and received the NOA1 letter on December 9, 2008. So they have had my application for about 2 months and 3 weeks.
Am I looking in the wrong place for the "touch" info or have they just not looked at my file? Should I worry about this?
Thank you.
Don't worry about the "touched" part. I never had a "touch" during the whole process, at least not one that they updated on my USCIS page. Our visa was approved 2 weeks ago. Everything will be fine!

t she said see has no intimate feelings for me and I should not be so attached to her and we can just live as roomates (while I pay for everything and reform her mother's home and pay for her daughters school and housing).
Sounds that she is using you for a green card. That is not a loving statement a wife should make IMHO.
If you are unhappy with the marriage, and she is not meeting you halfway, then divorce may be the only option.
Jesus!! Why does every immigrant who stops loving their USC spouse has to be in it for the green card. Quick to judge, eh?
And if they adjusted status, the USC cannot "ship her back". SHE is a person, you know? VJ sheesh.
Either way, no matter what, when this happens, it usually seems kind of "fishy". Why go though all this to be together and then just change your mind?? Interesting. I tend to agree, possibly just wanted a visa.

I was reading the guides on VJ and it was showing the petitioner/beneficiary address on top with the USCIS address. Should this be the case even on my fiancee's letter of intent?? I know I will put my address on my letter of intent to marry, but should she put her address on the top or should she put mine??? I was thinking she should put hers on her letter of intent, but now im a bit confused after seeing the example. Any help?
Put her current information as she is not yet in the US with you yet.

Sorry , kind of off the subject, but can someone please tell me what "IGOR's list" is?? I see this term frequently and I always feel....
Thanks!
igor's list is a compilation of vj members and their progress.
http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?cfl=
here's the link. to find it in the future...look at the top blue bar of vj and you'll see 'immigration timelines.' click that and you'll find 'igor's list.' good luck!
Hey thanks!! And sorry to the OP for pirating their post

If you loved him enough to endure all the visa procedures and to come all the way to the US, then you can get past this! Jealousy is a very destructive emotion and you really should take control of it. He loved you enough to bring you here to be with him and YOU are with him now, NOT her. Don't take too much stock in her and just forget it and as you said, focus on your upcoming marriage. Possibly he really had no idea that she would be there. Trust in his love for you and everything will be fine!

Hi there,
I have the K1 interview at the beginning of march, and putting all documents together now.
For financial support papers we got just a letter from employer with his income (triple above the poverty line), and 2 years tax returns........ also the I-134 of course.
He just recently got off school and that is why he couldn't get a 3 year tax return transcript.....also no pay stubs yet...cause he started the official work just couple months......
Do you think it will be enough proves that he actually has a great salary for 2 of us???
Please advise
Stop after first pargraph.
Triple the poverty line. You pass. But why no check stubs after 2 months? You need to prove this income with more than JUST a letter. You do not need transcripts at all, ever, where this comes from I do not know. You do not need three years tax returns, where this comes from I do not know. You need ONE year tax retruns with w-2s and/or 1099s OR a transcript which does not require attaching w-2s and/or 1099s.
His salary sounds great but he needs to PROVE it. The employment letter gives an indicagtion that the job is permanent and the income is more or less secure. Check stubs show he really makes the money. You need both. I know in Moldova (and Ukraine) things are different and pay is not so reliable, but here in the USA I cannot imagine a job at which one works and does not receive pay after a "couple of months". Most people are paid weekly, twice a month, or monthly. Get those check stubs!
Triple above the poverty line...great! But when my fiancee talked to the US embassy, they told her that she did NEED 3 year tax transcripts. If all you can get is 2, then 2 is all you will have. The letter from the employer does state how much his salery is and this is good enough. Also the extra proof that you need for income is the official letter from his bank about his previous years deposits. I bank with Bank of America and they knew what I needed and ordered it. Cost about $20. At no time did I ever need to provide any "pay stubs"to the US embassy. Although it would help I am sure. The more proof the better, but it was not requested. Good luck!

Hey, I'm puttin' my 2 cents worth in!!
-
We used the VJ sample and our visa petition and application were approved with no problem. It only needs to be a simple statement about your intent. The other details will have their own time to be presented on later papers. Also , both me an my fiancee needed to sign 2 seperate letters of intent.

Hi.....i need your advice friends in here.... or im about curious about the K-1 visa

please help me .........or do send me a private message
thank you
hope i can hear alots of opinion or advices
clyn
omg get that flag off your profile. how embarrassing!
OMG, this is why filipinas have a bad rep.... don't even think about sending another petition!! withdraw your existing petition so the genuine couples that applied after you can be 1 step closer to being with there fiances...
I'm not saying all filos are like this twisted person, im a filo, but i came to Oz when i was 1 so i consider myself a full aussie... but when I went back to the philippines for a holiday, with my aussie bf at the time, nearly every girl I spoke to would ask where I got the "white guy" from and if i could get them one too.... it was so disrespectful, frustrating and extreamly embarassing....
My fiance now, his mother told him to stay away from filipino girls coz theyre bad... lol
when he told his mum that he wanted to marry me, he had to explain that i grew up in Australia so im not just marrying him to get to the US... lol
its pretty sad how filipino girls are portrayed....
Yes, I do agree with you. Its very sad for ANY culture to be portrayed this way, but the fact is that many of every culture do this and its unfortunate. It makes it much harder for us honest people. My fiancee is not filo, but Cambodian and I have heard of this in other cultures too. I guess as long as there are visas to be had......there will be some dishonest people who will take advantage of things. It's great that we have a forum here at VJ that can see through all the BS and give these types of people a really hard time!

Thanks God he is so good to me. our interview go smooth and the Consul assign to us was nice lady, she approve us without even asking a Co-sponsor, considering that my husband's in come does not meet Poverty income requirements, but the thing is that he is currently & continuously working (I arrange his 2008 pay stubs from Jan to the current date, in separate sheet of paper I did make a breakdown). I guess its a plus factor that my husband is single, no kids plus when the consul ask me whats my job I said I have been through a lot of work before I was once working in an office, become self employed, I also tell that i have a home business. So maybe she think that I can be a potential rather than become a public charge. Lastly, i ask her ''Mam when can I get our visa, She said don't worry everything is fine except to just furnish me with your NBI Clearance in your previous family name (late husband family name i used before) She said once you submit it your visa will fallow. told her '' you know Mam my husband is so lonely waiting for me since we been apart for over 1 yr now, She smile & said Yes I understand your situation but don't worry, smiling at me & my daughter. Alam nu mga guys un pre screener na assign sa booth #25 was so mataray to me. Pero I keep quite nlang. But anyways thanks for everybody wishing me well in my interview.
Good Luck to everybody who are patiently waiting I wish your speedy approval. Your time will come soon.
Hey, congratulations and good job on the interview!!

What do you think we think? This is the government agency who is responsible for guarding our borders <cough>guarding borders<cough> and processing immigration documents. They can't find the illegals who they are responsible for removing -but I see them all the time hanging out in the Home Depot parking lot looking for work. Hell, we sent them 54 pages of documents, including name, address, address history, work history, birth certificates, telephone, email, for both of us, along with a CHECK, and those idjits couldnt find US in their system for almost 5 months. Citizenship and Immigration. Is there one part of that name that they do a good job on? The FBI has been solving crimes with fragments of fingerprints for decades. My wife bellied up to the machine, freely gave all (10) prints two times, and the quality was so bad they were rejected not once but twice. Cant guard the border. Can't process paperwork. Can't even take a set of fingerprints. Can't manage to even update "processing times" accurately on their website. Your dam skippy they deserve every bit of critical feedback they get. Are you forgetting that even with a different name, this same agency approved Atta's student visa AFTER he t-boned his plane on 09/11? C'mon......the same mid-level civil service drones who were running things then are still running them.More and more lately I am reading posts stating how stupid the USCIS is or how stupid the US government is.
Is this really all necessary? Ok, I will be the first to admit, I hate going to the social security office, the DMV, dealing with the USCIS or any government agency for that matter. BUT, compared to the rampent corruption of some country's governments, is it really that bad here? Can you deal with a few mistakes or the bad attitude of the lady at the SS office? We live in a free country where, yes, you can speak your mind and say what you feel. But again, I ask , given the freedoms that we all have and everyone who has immigrated here now have....is it really necessary? If you make a mistake on your visa petition or get an RFE, if it's your fault, its YOUR fault. Be an adult and correct it. Of the millions of petitions and applications they deal with each year (and growing), are they really that bad? Embrace America and all it's freedoms and most of all , TAKE IT EASY!
Just my thoughts. What do the VJ members think??
And if the great USA is so bad.....how bad do you think some of the 3rd world and impoverished governments are? Something to think about!

Well I would say our government here in the US is just as corrupt as any other government in the world. They cater to big business and pretty much screw the people. Just look at all the bail out money they are giving to the big companies...and it's us the tax payers paying for that and we will probably just get a raise in taxes.
Are you serious??? Yes I agree with what you said about the bailout situation. But the US government being as corrupt as the rest of the world? Bad argument. How about China, Cambodia, and yes even the philippines and many others where the police make rules as they go along, take bribes and "seting up" tourist? Right now as you read this, a section of the Cambodian government is TAKING land from rightful owners and giving it to developers! They have no where to go and nothing they can do! We are talking about countries where money is king and the general attitude is that there are many who will do just about anything to make it expecially their governments! In the US I can safely say that for the most part you can trust the police and similar officials here. We may have our flaws here, but we don't have corruption here like most 3rd world countries! Yes some of our polititions are "on the take", but where they are found out, they are prosecuted, not just ignored with a blind eye. I am not knocking any of these other countries, don't get me wrong, but facts are facts.

Strictly constructive criticism, I do use this board as a medium for thoughts to perfect a letter to my governor, senator or congressman. Comparing this country with others that are worse does not make our country better. What I really need practice on is projecting my feelings in 500 characters or less. Remember the 1st amendment.
I am not knocking your 1st amendment rights. I am only saying that if you make a mistake and its your fault. Take a moment and think of what the next step is instead of thinking that someone else is at fault and ranting and raving about how this world is so unfair and the US government is so bad. Did you notice that it's usually someone who the US government has allowed to come in to this country and practice those said , 1st amendment rights that complains the most? Am I generalizing....maybe, but it sure seem to be true.
So whose fault is it when they make a mistake or give poor service, or even lack of service? If people don't complain, things will not improve. The reason America is so great compared to other countries is because we don't put up with s****. We complain, complain, complain until things change and get better. It's a good thing.
Yes ,of course, complain. No problem with that. But the complaining has to have some action to back it up at some point. Some come here just to throw blame and complain and then do nothing else about it. You do have a valid point though. Thanks for your comments!

Because we are free to bash the Govt all we want. The Govt is not America, we are.
quote of the day
Who elected that government?? Those in government are not US citizens, not Americans? Just a thought...
