I was looking through the "guides" section of VJ and I am getting our I-485 package together. Does anyone know if we have to include the I-693 medical exam form with our I-485 package? In the last part of this guide it say the following:
"Once the Civil Surgeon has has verified that all required vaccinations have been performed, they will complete form I-693 Part 2 (the vaccination section) and Part 5 (the Civil Surgeon's Certification). They will then seal the form in an envelope and return it to you"
Does a Civil Surgeon have to sign papers that you include in your I-485 package at this time or is this for later?
Thanks for any help you guys may provide!

If your visa medical was less than one year ago you do not need to re-submit a full medical..... you only need provide any vaccination information
I do have a copy of her DS-3025 that she received before leaving Cambodia. In secton 2 "results", the box was checked "vaccine history incomplete- applicant may be eligible for blanket waiver because vaccinations not medically appropriate. Basically, she needed 2 more vaccinations after she arrived in the US. I guess I am answering my own questions, but I assume we need to get these last 2 vaccinations from a local civil surgeon and he needs to sign a form I-693? Thanks for your help......sometimes its very confusing! Thank God for VJ!

Its really for now. If you don't include it you might you get an RFE which could slow down AP EAD etc. However if you've had all of your vaccinations sometimes you can get away with just including your vaccination from your medical. And yes the civil surgeon must sign it.
Thanks! I do have her record of some shots done with a "panel Physician's" Signature while she was still in Cambodia. The only problem is that the shots are incomplete(just enough for her to pass immigration and POE). So what you are telling me is that we have to find a civil surgeon and get the rest of her shots and have his signature before the I-485 is considered complete? Would he need to sign the I-693 and DS-3025?
Thanks again

Hi all! Just a quick question that is maybe obvious, but at this point I want to be EXACT! I am currently unemployed and will be filing the AOS forms soon. I feel sure that I will need a co-sponcer, as my unemployement compensation and weekly child support will not cover the amount needed. My question is: under the 125% guideline on the I-864P, it lists the number of household members. In determining my number, does this number include my wife as well. I have 2 kids......so would I figure it on 4 people? So if correct, I would have to make a minimum of $27,562? My co-sponcer will be my father and his wife. Only 2 of them in the house. Does this mean that they only have to qualify for $18,212 being that there are only 2 of them? Or do their qualifications have to be equal to or greater than mine? Or do they have to qualify for the amount equal to 6 people total?? I have read the "guides" section here, but any other tips would be greatly appreciated!

My fiancee arrived from Cambodia in March. We will be married soon and within the 90 day requirement. My situation is this: I lost my job just before she got here and money is tight now. I won't be able to file for AOS and AP until a later date due to financial reasons. Will this cause a problem that I will be filing after her I-94 has expired? Will there be any other problems by not filing soon after we are married? Is there a time limit before filing for AOS and AP? As always , thanks for any help you may provide!

Excellent post and excellent advice. I will add that the first year is the hardest as you learn to adapt to each other and living with someone else in your/their space, but that every year afterwards it gets easier. We will be celebrating our 5th anniversary this year and I would say each year has been better than the one before at defining/finding our level of comfort with each other. While marriage is a partnership, it is not always an equal partnership - sometimes you require more from your partner and sometimes they require more from you. If each of you is willing to give 75% or more to the relationship all the time - or to the best of your ability at the times when you are the one in need, you will always have an overlap of giving to each other that will go a long way to sustaining you through the difficult times that do come.
Well said. I like your 75% rule

'Leccy Tech As an answer to those who say e-cars will never take off because their range is limited, this isn't at all bad. A Tesla Roadster managed to cover 241 miles on a single charge while taking part in the Rallye Monte Carlo d'Energies Alternatives.
Organised by the Automobile Club of Monaco, the annual rally is open to cars powered by just about any 'alternative' fuel source, such as LPG, ethanol or even petrol-powered hybrid drives.
The rally course runs 390km (241 miles) from the town of Valance in France to the Principality of Monaco and covers a mixture of trunk roads, motorways and single-carriageway roads that wind through the mountains.
This year's all-electric entrants included a Ruf-modified Porsche 911 and a handful of Mitsubishi iMiEVs but it was the Tesla that stole the e-car laurels by managing to get cross the finishing line with an indicated 61km (38 miles) of juice left in the battery pack.
That would give the Roadster a theoretical maximum touring range of nearly 280 miles – 36 miles more than Tesla itself reckons the car will cover on a charge.
If the numbers stand up to official scrutiny, Tesla will hold the world record for the longest distance travelled by a production electric car on a single charge.
Of course, it should be pointed out that the Tesla was driven by a company staffer doubtless practised in eking out every last mile from a charge, and that the speeds averaged on the run were hardly blistering – 90kph (56mph) on the motorways, 60kph (37mph) on trunk roads and 30kph (19) in the mountain roads. Tesla reckon the average speed for the entire journey was 45kph (28mph).
After a day spent proving the Tesla's economy and range, the car was handed over to former F1 driver Heinz-Harald Frentzen who took it for a thrash around one of the Monte Carlo Rally's special night stages. Nobody is saying what sort of range Frentzen got from the car. ®
Now we just need the prices to come down so we can all own one!!

Hi! How are you guys?
I just want to share my experience to you and I hope it will help with your situation.
I arrived here in US last November 2008 and I think 4 or 8 days after, I applied for SSN and too my surprise I was approved for that. All I did was filled out the form at the SSN Office, took a priority number until I was called. They asked for my passport with my I-94 and visa attached to it. Then I think I paid something but not that much. I think that was only $25 then the lady gave me a receipt and informed me to wait for my SSN card in the mail. After a week, my SSN card arrived on the mail. And so far I haven't got any problem applying one.
With regards to other situations, I think the problem is with them. I think they made an error and they didn't realized it until you complained. They always covered it up some some bullshit reasons and made us think like we're buying it. Some of them are such an ####### for making us look like we're dumb enough.
But what I can advice you right now. Please don't stop maing follow-ups to your wife's SSN. If they find you guys annoying then so be it. If you want to write a letter then go on. Because most of my friends who applied for SSN doesn't seem to encounter such problems like this. So annoy them more if you could until they will provide what you want. That's their job.
You had to pay to get your SS card???
-
I took my fiancee 2 days after her arrival to the local SSN office to apply for her SSN. She did not show up in the "system" as the SSN person said and told us to wait 2 weeks. It has been 7 weeks so we went back today and we had the same lady and she said the SSN office had to send the Dept. Of Homeland Security a zerox copy of her visa, passport, and I-94 for them to verify she is eligable to receive a SSN. The lady was very unhelpful both visits. I asked her to query the syetem again and see if she is now in the system but she cut me off and said she has been working in the SSN office many years and knows her job! She suggested we just wait or we can contact the Dept. of Homeland Security Ourselves! So My fiancee and I immediately went to the local USCIS Office but they had closed at 2pm. There hours are 8am to 2 pm Monday through Friday! I do not know what to do next.
I am thinking of making an appointment with the dept of homeland security/ USCIS office and explain the situation. I am also thinking of going back to the SSN office and demanding to speak to a supervisor of the offiice.
has anyone else applied very soon for their fiancee's SSN and experience the same or similiar thing??????
Yes, we had a similar situation but, we only had to wait for about 2 weeks and my fiancee finally got the SS card in the mail recently. They did tell us that going to the office too early after her arrival could cause some delay, but 7 weeks seems a little excessive. I would schedule an info pass appointment on the USCIS web site.

Hi,
I don't mean bad when I say this so don't all jump on me.....but why do most filipinas always ask questions like this? It makes them sound like they just were searching for an American victim to pounce on!! When you talk about "looking for a certain race" in makes you sound like gold diggers!! So many filipina post like this and it makes them all sound the same!!! Hard to respect this style. Thats maybe why there are SO many filipina girls married to their "grandpa". You know the ones you see here that are so young and pretty looking with some old fat white guy? WTH! Funny, I live in manilla for over 5 years and almost never saw filipina girls with older filipino guys....but let a fat white guy walk down the street and he was like fresh meat in the jail......I guess he just looked like a big DOLLAR sign!! Here's a hint, filipinas.......clean up your image by having some self respect!!
So What?Instead of complaining. Why you don't try to find a fat white guy also..PEACES

Finally someone else see's this!! Well everyone always "see's" this, but too busy trying to be nice and just don't want to say it!! Sorry, sad, but true. Not all are like this......but seems to be very common. There are some good ones, like my fiancee, but many are giving them all a very bad name!
Sounds kind of mean though. Maybe this guy should relax.

first of all congratulation bubbletea.
I also have engagement photos but was told not to send it in but it's cambodian's tradition to have engagement ceremony.
So to send or not to send?
For those who have a certificate of citizenship. did you supply the A# on 1-129f or write "None"?
and the question for the certificate number, date, and place.
There's no place indicated on the certicate, only cert number and date. how do u fill that part out?
I'm also submitting my passport as a proof of citizenship.
my fiance mailed me her passport style photo but when compared to mine, her's is smaller...is this going to be a
problem?
Please help out if you could.
Hi proudazn! I also had many combodian traditional engagement ceremony photos. I did use many of them because it showed me an my fiancee together with her family and friends. Also it showed the date on backdrop wall behind us. Take advantage of ANY and all proof you can use. Having too much proof is not a bad thing, in my opinion.
to your question about the passport photos being different sizes. My fiancee's passport that she made in Phonm Penh was just a little smaller, but it still was within regulation size. As long as its within that size range, they won't have to match exactly. US standard size is 2 x 2 inches (5cm x 5cm or 50mm x 50mm as was printed on my fiancee's from PP)

Welcome to asian mentality.....here comes the RICH foreigner!! Sad but most times true
When I was in Phnom Penh, there were 2 prices published at all major tourist attractions: locals price and foreigners price. Needless to say the "foreigners price" was usually tripled or more.

I am planning to attend my fiance interview when we get our date. My question is will that help us out a little or alot? we have every document we need , I think. The only problem is my call log, when she call me the number show up as my number on my phone bill. So i hope they will accept that. Can you guy give me some insight. Thank in advance.
Unfortunatly I was unable to attend my fiancee's interview in Phnom Penh, but as far as the embassy or interviewer is concerned, I don't think it matters. As others have said though, I am sure it would help your fiancee feel better to have your support. As far as your call log, can you explain more in more detail? What method did you two use to make calls? Calling cards, Cell phone, home phone etc? Do you have any records showing the phone number in Cambodia?
