Advice on Where to Start
Lemonslice replied to lesnicole's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
The vast majority of beneficiaries with valid visas are able to visit, for reasonable duration/frequency. It's ok to be prudent, and to listen to your lawyer; however visiting is a possibility. -
SSN updates after DHS Authorization removed?
Lemonslice replied to EatBulaga's topic in Social Security Numbers
My SSN card never had the mention, entering with a spousal visa, the card is not restricted; the restriction could have been removed as soon as you got the green card. -
Canadians moving to the US guide, summary and conclusion
Lemonslice replied to Dr_Eng_X's topic in Canada
I don't have the time or energy to do the research for you, but I felt it was necessary to point out that it wasn't accurate so that you, and others, don't rely on your post. You want to search for information applicable to immigrants, not visitors. -
Canadians moving to the US guide, summary and conclusion
Lemonslice replied to Dr_Eng_X's topic in Canada
You can search some more, but pretty much everything you've said in your first post is not applicable to Canadians/immigrants. -
The bolded part is ONE of the conditions. Google "Maintaining Permanent Residence" to learn more. Also, not sure that we should follow the example of people not following the rules and not getting caught. Good for them, but not great for the ones who get caught trying to circumvent the system. I see plenty of people speeding on the highway, not sure telling the cop I was imitating their behaviour will help me when I'm the one caught... If your children have no intention of living in the US, might be best not to burden them with lifetime tax filing. Something to be discussed. Best of luck to you and your family.

Canadians moving to the US guide, summary and conclusion
Lemonslice replied to Dr_Eng_X's topic in Canada
Are you a Canadian citizen? If so, the ESTA information is not applicable; Canadians are not getting ESTAs. Importation fees are also different when immigrating. Visitors information (ex. Snowbirds, etc.) will not be applicable to most immigrants) -
I see good deals with Icelandair in August (under $600 per person). @yuna628 I hope you find something that works for you guys.

Did you try searching here: https://matrix.itasoftware.com/search What's your end destination? I can search later if you'd like. I'm not sure if it's still the case, but Heathrow used to have the highest departing fees in the world, so it's never as cheap as some other destinations.

Vaccination requirements for DS260
Lemonslice replied to AJ19962346's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
I'm not sure how it is in your area/province. Usually, adults do not need 15 vaccines, were you ever vaccinated in the past? -
Vaccination requirements for DS260
Lemonslice replied to AJ19962346's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
Verify with the clinic. If I remember correctly, not all of them in Canada provide vaccine. Will certainly be much cheaper/maybe free at a community clinic near you. -
See: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Canada.html to make sure you have exactly the right document. If you do not: order the right document If you do: reupload the right document + a copy of their own website description of what the right document is.

Yes, you can visit!
Lemonslice replied to Michele and Adam's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures
That's different than "Because, officially, the customs and border patrol do not want you to visit under tourist visa after you have applied for a K-1 visa. " And more like: All visitors have to overcome the appearance of immigrant intent. Let's not be fear mongering, most visitors who can demonstrate that they'll be heading back home after a reasonably short/long visit are allowed to enter. Wishing you, your fiancée, and family, a speedy journey, and easy visits until their visas are issued. -
First line: I am certain it's a u-visa, no police report (I'm sure I would have been notified if there was). There is nothing saying that the crime has anything to do with you, so, no, you would not necessarily be notified. If she is your ex, then the best tip is to move on and let her manage her immigration stuff on her own. Focus your energy on living your best life.

Ds 260 sign and submit not working

Are you trying to fill it from a computer, or a tablet? Most common problem is not doing it from a PC. -

Lemonslice replied to MichaelHenry3's topic in Effects of Major Family Changes on Immigration Benefits
Please take care of your safety before taking care of immigration, or anything else. https://www.thehotline.org/resources/escalation/ is a good read, and from there, you can prepare a Plan for Safety (top of the page) Others will have good advice about immigration, but please do not ignore her escalation.
