  1. Well i am in sort of a similar situation. My dad had his interviewed. Passed everything. We have a payment plan set up with the IRS that starts in September. The adjudicating officer said that she needs to discuss this with her supervisor and left it at that. the very next day my mother had her interview. She was approved immediately with the SAME EXACT documentation. So I am confused on what is going on. I am making an assumption that if my mom's was approved with the same threshold my dad's should be approved too but not sure how long it will take to make the decision. As for you I think you are good. The RFE cancellation means they are satisfied and you should be getting an approval soon!
  2. My mother just got this approval last week. We had N648 from her Physician as well as a Neurologist. We retained an attorney due to this complexity and coordinated between the doctors and attorney to have the wording properly so that the waiver is accepted. The neuro even had my mother get a CAT Scan. We attached both waivers filled by both docs to the application. During the interview the Officer reviewed the waiver from the Neuro and was satisfied and didnt even bother looking at the one from her physician. So here are my two cents. This waiver is no joke. You cannot get this filled by any Tom, ####### and Harry Doctor. It has to come from a legit doctor who actually sees the condition to where she qualifies for the waiver. And the doctor needs to make sure its worded properly. My attorney informed me that its hit or miss with these waivers. She has seen many approved and many rejected. The funny thing is that the Attorney's mother is a psychiatrist and she has filled these waivers for parents and for some reason from Psychiatrists they have a low chance of approval. There is some great information online about these forms to be completed. I printed it out and took it to the doctors so they can review it and then fill the waiver.
  3. Hi everyone, Looking for advice or shared experiences related to the Detroit field office. My dad had his N-400 interview on Monday, July 22, 2025. He disclosed that he owes taxes but provided proof of an IRS payment plan that starts in September. He also submitted all required documentation. At the end of the interview, the officer said she needed to consult with her supervisor, and no decision was made. Now here’s the strange part — my mom had her interview the very next day, July 23, with the same tax situation and identical documents, plus a medical waiver (Form N-648) — and she was approved immediately. Her oath ceremony is scheduled for August 7. So despite her case being arguably more complex, it was approved on the spot, while my dad's was not. Has anyone had something similar happen — especially where one spouse is approved and the other is delayed due to “supervisor review”? How long did it take for a decision or oath letter to come through? Appreciate any insights. Thanks!
  4. Hello people! My parents filed their N400 applications in January and have their interview scheduled for early next week (on two separate days). My father's case is pretty simple however we does owe taxes but has documentation from the IRS stating that he has a payment plan set up which starts on September 1st 2025. My mother filed the N648 Medical Waiver as she has cognitive disabilities where she cannot learn English. I just wanted to know what are the chances of them getting the same day oath taking? Much obliged for your input. Thanks!
  5. 01/24/2025 N400 filed through Attorney (Detroit) 01/25/2025 Notice of Action (Receipt)
  6. Does anyone know how long is it taking from when the N400 is filed to when the Interview is happening to when people are getting approved for their Naturalizations these days. Would appreciate your help!
  7. Thanks for the information Jude61! Really appreciate it. This is what is says when I tried to track the application: As of February 1, 2025, we are actively reviewing your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, Receipt Number IOE##########. Our records show nothing is outstanding at this time. We will let you know if we need anything from you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
  8. FEB 2025 Filer for N400 here. Filed for my Mother and Father after their 4 years and 9 month completion. Father's application was on normal basis however mother's application was filed with N-648 disability waiver as she has cognitive disabilities and will not be able to take the US Civics test. Filed from Detroit Michigan. Recieved NOA for my father already and my mother's application is being sent in today by the Attorney. Hopefully this is not a hard process but worried due to the new Trump administration and their scrutiny on Immigration Applications. My question is there a chance their old biometrics might be used? Is there a rule for it. The Biometrics were taken for the Permanent Residency Card a little more than 5 years ago. Thanks everyone!
