  1. @Emmajapan Yes. I'm from Nigeria. All the best with your application.
  2. If the NVC doesn’t receive the documents before they expire, you may be required to submit a new police certificate. Additionally, even if the documents are submitted on time, you might still need to provide updated police certificates in the future for your interview. If your interview is scheduled at a Montreal consulate in Canada, your wife will need to provide a new police certificate from Nigeria. If the interview is in Lagos, Nigeria, and you have lived in Canada for more than three months since your DQ (Documentarily Qualified) date, you will also need to present a new Canadian police certificate at the time of your interview in Lagos. All the best.
  3. Hello All, I would appreciate your advice on this matter. We recently welcomed a baby here in Canada and are planning to permanently relocate to the U.S. by the end of July. My spouse and I already have our Green Cards, but our newborn does not, and the official birth certificate (issued in Quebec) won't be available until around August. I understand that children are generally allowed to cross the land border with a birth certificate. However, since we won’t have that document by the time we plan to travel, I’m wondering if there are any alternatives we can use. We do have the green attestation paper from the hospital, but unfortunately, it doesn’t include the names of the parents or the child. Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Maybe you can try to contact them for update. It seems they haven’t produced the card yet.
  5. Depending on the stage, you’ll receive a prompt message: • Stage 1: “We have received payment for this case number and are currently processing it.” • Stage 2: “We have ordered the printing of your Green Card.” • Stage 3: “Your Green Card has been mailed.”
  6. You can track it directly from the uscis website https://egov.uscis.gov/ no need for access code. Just your receipt number
  7. You can track your green card on the https://egov.uscis.gov/ website with your receipt number. What’s your current tracking status on the egov website?
  8. @visajournie According to the upcoming April bulletin update, the new priority date is 22JUN23. Which means you’ll be current soon and might likely get your IL next month or latest in May if the consulate continue working at the current pace. The current DQ being interviewed at Montreal is March 2024.
  9. @monk_yatso We only carried a few extra items we needed for the weekend. At the border crossing, they checked our passports and packages. The officers double-checked the medical records in the package to ensure everything was in order and then congratulated us
  10. A brief update from my side: We crossed the border into Vermont, USA, on February 20, 2025, and returned to Canada on February 23, 2025. We received our SSN on March 7, 2025. Our Green Card arrived on March 17, 2025. We hope to make the final move before the end of the year. In the meantime, we are actively applying for opportunities in the USA. Thank you all for your support and valuable information. Wishing everyone the best!
  11. Sorry to hear that. I believe everything will work out. Since you're the main applicant, I think your visa and your son's will likely be approved while your wife's remains pending the outcome of her medical assessment
  12. We picked up our passports today from the courier office. It took 5 working days for it to be ready. @monk_yatso and @Aaron_ have you recieved email regarding the passport pickup? Planning to cross the boarder this week or next depending on the weather situation.
  13. Not yet. The officer said between 5 to 10 working days.
