  1. There are videos from immigration attorneys that you can watch to know what to expect during an interview and you can start gathering proof of a bonafide marriage to bring with you in case they schedule you for an interview. If you are going to get a Conditional Green Card, you're going to need to gather all of this evidence for the Removal of Conditions in a couple of years anyway and I find it's best to gather the evidence as you have it, put it all into one spot so that you are not scrambling to put it all together at the last minute. But that's my own need to feed my A*** Retentive nature. LOL
  2. Perfect way to approach it.... Unless it goes "Outside Normal Processing Times", theres nothing to do but wait
  3. Ours did the same thing after the biometrics. You will not know for sure if they are going to skip the interview until they approve the case and you have the GC in hand. The "My Progress" tab is notoriously unreliable. Plan and prepare as if you are going to have to attend an interview and then be pleasantly surprised if they waive it for you.
  4. Ok keep us updated what they say! Best of luck 🍀🤞
  5. We just got our approval this morning and on the approval notice it says this: If you have not received your EAD card within this time frame, please visit https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do for instructions on how to submit an inquiry.
  6. Employment Authorization Application approved this morning!! 🎉🎊🍾
  7. In August 2024, Jaycel had her interview on a Tuesday, case status showed "Issued" on Friday and it was ready for pick up at the LBC Branch in MOA on the next Tuesday (FYI it would have been there that Monday but it was a Philippine National Holiday if I remember correctly). A girl she met at the embassy also doing a K-1 had her status go to "Issued" the next day, Wednesday, and had hers in hand on that Friday
  8. A B1/B2 is a tourist/business non-immigrant visa Why else would you ask about gaining a visa other than to get back to the US? Your case has so many legal pitfalls that any further discussion in this forum is pointless - You really need to discuss this with an attorney. The people in this forum are just trying to let you know that with your circumstances, you basically have zero chance of legally entering the US. Embassies / CBP will not care about your claims of abuse, coercion, malicious prosecution, etc. because they are precisely that - Claims that have not been proven in a court of law. Please, if you want to pursue this, talk to an attorney. I wish you the best of luck
  9. From your original post: "What should I do? What is my chance of getting a B1/B2 visa if I apply for it?" And I will say it.... Talk to a Lawyer. About everything you discussed here
  10. As the O-1 is a Non-Immigrant visa, after the interview approval and for the purposes of administrative processing, it will be "converted" to the Non-Immigrant Visa section of the consulate for the AP and Visa Issuance. To do this, it goes to them as an "Application". Per the status you indicated, they have received it and are processing it. This is the same thing that happens with K-1 Visas as they are also Non-Immigrant. Nothing out of the ordinary here
  11. And for the K-1 visa you will be filling out the DS-160 not the DS-260
  12. This is the worst thing you could do because then you add misrepresentation to your record. Do not ever lie or omit information in order to obtain a visa/immigration benefit.
  13. We did not have an engagement ceremony, just a private proposal and dinner afterwards which we sent photos of.
  14. Yes... for their security/background checks to be completed, they cannot rely on the Pakistani Government so the AP for that process takes a really long time
  15. Is your fiancee Pakistani citizen a male? If so you can expect extensive delays for administrative processing (AP). If your fiancee is a female, there will still be AP delays but not as long as for a male Pakistani.
  16. You should wait a few more weeks and when you inquire again, use the attachment option on the inquiry form to attach a scan of your I-797c Approval Notice. I also highly recommend that in the body of your request, after asking for your case number, you provide yours and your fiancee's email addresses and ask them to verify their records and update the email addresses if necessary. This will ensure that the embassy has the correct contact info for you both. P.S. - Do not email them. Use the Public Inquiry Form Website
  17. After reading the OP's post my very first thought is to be sure that she documents the passport number of the stolen passport in the police report. That way, the police report can be used as supporting documentation as to why she will now have a different passport number than what has been submitted. I'm pondering the other points in the post but wanted to get this thought out there quickly as she already made the report and if it's not in there, maybe she can amend the report.
  18. Your PoE will be the first airport you land on US Soil so it depends on the flights you can get with the airline.
  19. Agreed. LOL But this button is brand new on the Status Page. Never seen it there before even when we had notices available to view. We always had to go into the "Documents" tab. I work in tech engineering and I am endlessly fascinated how bad the USCIS website is. Even when judged by the low-bar comparison of other government websites, it's terrible. 🤪
  20. Here's an interesting (to me anyway ) tidbit.... This "View Notice" button showed up on the I-485 Case Status page this morning. When you click it, it takes you to an error page
  21. And as of this morning ours went from 6 months to 7 months 🤪
  22. I've never known them to be open on the weekends for immigration medical services (medical exams, TB testing / follow-up, etc.)
  23. I don't believe there is anything that says you have to live in the US while it is processing. The only thing that would be of concern is having a US address where you can receive the notices from USCIS (NOA 1 & NOA2) and then when it's time to process the visa, during the interview the Consular Officer will want to know an address where you and she will be living in the US and CBP at her Port of Entry will want to know the same thing. If you can stand the wait, I would highly recommend getting married there and doing the CR-1. If for no other reasons, it's cheaper and on the K-1, once she enters the US, she is stuck here in the country until either the green card is issued after the AOS or if you pay the extra money for the Advanced Parole which could also take months to process
