  1. We have been asked to send my spouse's passport to the Montreal consulate. With the ongoing Canada Post strike, who do I send it to them? Is there an email at which I can write to enquire. Thanks
  2. This really helps. How do I send the documents to them? My spouses's medical is on Dec 9th. Do we use BLS to send them?
  3. Is US Consulate Montreal going to be using Canada Post, since there seems to be no definite date when the strike could end? Or are they offering an alternative?
  4. Wonder if they will ask us to update the DS260 after sending the passport and medical reports. Typically after how long do they ask to update a DS260? 6 months or 1 year?
  5. Hi, My spouse just got an email from the Monreal consulae requesting Passport, 2 passport photos and medical from the following address. Is that valid? We are so worried about scams. Yatri: U.S. DoS Visa system additional documents required notice
  6. Hi, A question for the members of the forum. My spouse attended the interview on March 15, 2024, at the Montreal consulate. We were asked to submit a DS5535 which we submitted immediately. We have got three unsolicited updates so far. Is this a good sign. The dates are about a month apart and on Mondays. Is there a pattern? Are we close to being asked to submit her passport? September 16, 2024 (Monday)-unsolicited October 21, 2024 (Monday) -unsolicited November 18, 2024 (Monday) -unsolicited
  7. Hi...that is usually a good sign. The visa will still continue to be in "refused" status till all the documents are obtained by the embassy and checked. Once they are satisfied with the documents they will issue the visa.
  8. Thank you so much. That is reassuring. Keeping my fingers crossed. Have a good day.
  9. Hi...has anyone travelled by road to the US after DS 5535. My spouse recently got a DS 5535 and is travelling from Toronto to visit me in the US? Were there a lot of questions at the border?
  10. Hi, My spouse was issued a DS 5535 and is planning to drive into the US to visit me. Does anybody hae any experince to share about crossing a land border into US after getting DS-5535. Thanks.
  11. Hi...My sposue submitted her DS 5535 in March, 2024. Since then there have been two unsolicited updates o Sep 16 and Oct 21, 2024. Is that a good sign. Can I expect to hear something positive within the enxt couple of months?
  12. My spouse’s interview was on March 15, 2024, and she was asked to submit a DS5535 which she submitted the next day. Except for a few updates, there has not been any progress. She will be visiting her home country in February 2025. Will that delay her case? Also, does she need to inform the Montreal consulate about this trip after she returns (since it was not included in the DS 260 that she submitted)? Thanks
  13. Most of the time it is because either your or your congressman has enquired.
  14. Hi..BasitJeffries...that is a very good question. I am at the 6 month wait and am starting to wonder how long it could take..I hope someone replies.
  15. Hi...my spouse's DS-260 was filed in Nov 2021, and the interview was in March 2024. So, do I need to refile my DS 260, or wait for the Montreal conuslate to ask for an update?

  19. Hi, Thank you for the information. it certianly gives hope to us who have a DS 5535 pending.
  20. Yes...even I am curious...my spouse's passport needs to be renewed in Deceber. We are not hopeful that the DS5535 will not be processed before that.
  21. Yes...my wife has a pending DS5535....we crossed into the US at a land border...while she was stopped for secondary questioning the office let her in after he was convinced that she was going to return...from this forum it seems that air travel is not so challenging as long as you have a return ticket...
