Hi my spouse's passport and medical report have been delivered to the Montreal consulate on Dec 05 (last Thursday). Do I need to email the consulate asking for an update? My understanding is that things move faster when you enquire about your status, or am I wrong. I am worried that with the upcoming holidays, things are going to be delayed further. Anybody else in the same situation?

Are you able to see "Application received" when you log in. I am in the same situation...my passport and medical were delivered on Dec 5th....I only see "refused"

I think you need to generate a courier-in-certificate. We did...just to be sure.

Hi AndrewsN...so happy for you. So what happens at the land border? Do you drive up to the booth and tell the CBS office that you want to immigrate? What documents were you provided by the Montreal consulate. We are planning to cross at the Sarnia border. Which border did you cross? All the best for your future life in the US.

Hi. Pending DS5535. My passport was deliverd on Dec 4th and medical on Dec 5th. Please let me know how your case progresses. I will also be posting if I have any updates.

For Leo The Great. Are the fees not paid while filing the DS 260. Mine says "IV Fees-PAID". Or is this another fee?

I have a silly question. For those who have received your passport back...do they also send a sealed packet with it that needs to be handed over to the immigration officer. I see mention of passports being returned...but no mention of any other documents. Was just wondering.

Through which courier service did they send the passports? Did you send your documents before the Canada Post strike?

Purolator delay: we sent our passport for visa stamping though Purolator. We are getting this message. Has anybody had any recent experience with Purolator? Is it because of the increased volume because of the Canada Post strike? "Estimated Delivery Date: Not Available Delayed in transit due to missed connection."

Yes...it is not unusual to have rapid updates when passport and medical are received. Everytime the case is handled there will be an update. After checking everything they will changed it to refused. I have seen that happen to other people also. So, I would think that this is a good sign. Your friend will see "issued" soon.

On an average...how many days is it taking the Montreal consulate to issue a visa after they have received the 2 photos, medical report and passport. I am referring to those who got a DS5535. Thanks.

So do we need to call the Montreal consulate to generate a Authorized Courier receipt for FedEx? or can we use the one that is for Canada Post?

Hi...we are trying to send our passports from Toronto to the Montreal consulate. What the addresses of Purolator or BLS offices in Toronto. Do all Purolator offices handle passport and visa documents?

How old is your DS260. Did it expire? Or were there any changes?

Hi, We are trying to print a Courier-In-Authorization Certificate to send my spouse's passport. While trying to print page 2 (instructions for Puroalator) and Page 3 (include this page in the Courier envelope), we are running into problems. Only the top half of the document is printing. Did anyone have similar problems? Is it to do with paper size? Would appreciate all input. Thanks.

Hi...my wife has a medical scheduled for Dec 9th...the doctor's office did not say anything...so I am not sure of your situation. This is the first time that I am hearing this. Where are you trying to book your medical?

Hi, My spouse was put on DS 5535 at the Montreal consulate. Finally the Montreal consulate has requested for her Passport and medical. However, in the meantime her old Canadian passport expired and she has not got a new one. Two questions: (1) Do we need to update the DS 260 for that? (2) Do we send both the old and the new passports? Thanks.
