  1. A little older, but I wanted to throw this out. I went through the divorce process just over a year ago, long term marriage. My overall experience went rather well, but I was on high alert for the ‘false’ domestic violence ’ charge. Part included me having the digital voice recorder going as needed. I even called 911 when the ex was drunk, pushing me, trying to get me to hit her. I don’t know the posters exact experience, but I have heard advice from ‘divorce coaches’. The false DV charge is real, for many.
  2. I think a ‘marriage broker’ is much more arraigned than meeting on the average website. I think most of us started off on a website, then went to private communications then eventually a meetup. Even if it was of the Tinder type, still not a marriage broker.
  3. My I-129F gets mailed tomorrow, to Dallas. I have zero criminal history, certainly don’t expect any fast track. I just want to get it in & start the timeline.
  4. I was just looking a few weeks ago, I thought the Nebraska center was the quickest. It may vary on what’s trying to be accomplished.
  5. https://www.uscis.gov/i-129f You mean like this info? The form and instructions on the USCIS website?
  6. A 1:55 could easily get tight, getting any bags, Customs & Immigration lines, then through security again. One little fact could be the airline then the next destination. With many there could easily be another flight 3 hours later, first one missed.
  7. Thanks everyone. My trip over starts Jan 5th. I think I have the info to collect all that I need to file.
  8. I was watching a video about the 129F process, I see the author had several other forms along with it, ‘biometric’, ‘electronic notification’, likely others. Yes, I will reread the instructions carefully. I’m not talking about copies of documentation so much, passports, birth certificates etc, more so printed off government forms. I am a regular U.S. citizen, nothing out of the norm. Before I look again, anything else go in with the 129f form. She’s in the Philippines. I can handle the pictures, proof of meeting, all that.
  9. CR1? I thought the 129 was better than getting married in a foreign land?
  10. I’m new here, be gentle. I have my 129 form mostly complete, plan to be in Manila in less than a week. I talked with another about the process, he did it about 5 years ago. I looked carefully through the instructions, printed them off. I had originally planned to use a ‘service’, the guy I talked to said to follow directions, complete everything, then mail to the address in TX. He recommended doing it myself. I will collect her copies, information, all the pictures of correct size & background, etc.. When back home I plan to double check things, copy, then mail it off, with tracking. Am I missing much? Any info on current processing times? Seems an interesting site. I have a rather clean history, hopefully things go ok.
  11. I’m new here, early in the process. I don’t have many answers, but I would for sure try to travel with her if you can. I would do the same. If needing translation, I’d at least load up a phone with the ability to do so, mostly free on Google translate.
