  1. I’m kinda new here, been poking around, trying to figure things out. Filling out your own ‘timeline’ helps, plus others can tell what you’re referring to. My timeline started to show 129F through the USCIS in Nov, it has slowly moved up to mid to later June. I’ve tried to get ready for the next steps, before they get here, not much I can do now. I recently got back from my 3rd trip to the Philippines, kinda a hike, but enjoyable. It’s another 1:40 flight after landing in Manila.
  2. I researched a little, consensus seemed to be, if needed you can get them with your medical check. I would lean to wait.
  3. Hey, I know it’s an estimate, not making any plans based on the info. My first question, is there hope of the estimate being fairly accurate? The 2nd question, is that just for the 129F through the USCIS? After that one has the NVC then the interview & medical in the country. So does one have to ‘estimate’ another 4 months(or whatever) after the end of the estimate? I know, the easy answer is, it’s just an estimate. Just wondering with any that compared one to actual outcome. Thanks.

    Eva Air

Heading out today, through Haneda/Tokyo. After Tokyo my plan is Manila then down near Cebu.
  5. A related question, I have the 129F in process, only just over 2 months worth. I’ve never given much thought to the ‘Utah online marriage’, but never know. She and I are ready anytime, don’t mind before the end of the year for slight tax advantages. How would getting married change the 129F process? Would we start over with the other, married option? Again, just a question as we muddle through the long process.
  6. I just came back a week ago, she flew to Manila to meet this time. I’d get your butt over there & start with proof of a visit.
  7. A ‘Utah zoom wedding’ seems a bit much if not of met yet??
  8. I would try to do a ‘1st meet’ soon, providing all was well, you could start the 129F process with the proof of meeting. As far as flying over, long way, some expense, 30 days is a long stay. Long stays cost more $$. Why not go soon, get the proof of meeting, then fire off the 129F application? Since the 14 pages of the application takes a while, start it now, fill in parts later of meeting. One should get a feel for the relationship, if for some reason it turns south, you can opt out later by not completing required steps. Some suggest getting married is a viable choice, then coming to the USA, maybe. For me I settled on the 129F.
  9. You have to provide the proof of meeting in the last two years. I don’t think it matters at all if you flood them with ‘proof’. Of course with a handful off meetings, a few proofs from each.
  10. ‘Time will be short’? Is that to connect from international to your domestic flight to CLT? The normal procedure when coming in internationally is to go though immigration, collect any checked bags, then a potential Customs check. There are lines for everything, depending on other flights. After that it’s back in line and security again for the domestic flight to CLT. It varies, often a minimum of a 2 hours planned timeframe. I’d be so relieved to get through it all, I’d almost get a hotel room in Atlanta(that takes pets) and rest up some.
  11. Yes, I looked a little more. I see it will take longer at the USCIS.
  12. Yeah, that was a question, when does it move from the USCIS to the NVC? Like on average how long at each to the next step? For some reason I thought the longest sit was at the NVC, maybe not? I’ll look for a guide.
  13. Thanks, if that is fairly accurate mine should move to the NVC rather soon? I haven’t been notified of any issues, problems, or RFE’s. How long does it stay at the NVC before getting shipped to the embassy, Philippines? What are the differences on what’s being done, USCIS to NVC? I’m just trying to be ready for future steps, thanks.
  14. My timeline keeps inching up/sooner, from Nov now into September. Of course I like that, I understand it’s just an estimate. I’m waiting for the package to go to the NVC, 1st received by USCIS late Jan. Isn’t the move to the NVC usually after 45 days or so?
  15. Can you try to get ahead of it? Once you get a receipt number, and it’s in CA(likely location), copy that page with the correct answer, including supporting documentation, send it. I’d try to do something like that if it’s a potential biggie, put the receipt number on everything. It’s not like you’re just off a few months with time at a residence. It seems to me that is likely to cause an issue down the road. Even as a simple RFE, may as well try to get ahead of it. JMHO.
  16. If doing copies can you do electronic, have her make copies? Even if she has to go to a business office of sorts to complete on her end. There are a few helpful Utube videos on the interview in Manila. I realize it can vary, seems any divorce decree can be a biggie. I’m flying over in a few days, months away from any interview. I have a folder I will bring, hopefully most that may be needed in the future.
  17. The main thing is the ‘divorce decree’, all the pages of it. Mine is only 3 pages, kinda simple. For just about everything I did copies.
  18. I’d check airline sites for pet regulations, after that maybe Customs. It should be doable, usually easier if the pet fits in a pet carrier of sorts. The super long flights could be a little to deal with. I do understand the furniture attachment, I’d have to suggest paring it down to the minimum. As we know, moving it will be in the negative economically. It’s just a matter of spending the $$, a local shipping company would have leads to who to talk with. One would like to dismantle if possible, then pack securely, legs off tables, so forth.
  19. Thanks, I put ‘Grab’ on my phone, I’ll try it.
  20. Last time I was over it was just at the airport, then flew to a smaller town down South. This time she will meet me in Manila, one less flight for me.😊 We plan to stay not to far from the Embassy, walk by, St Lukes also. I had heard something about taking a cab. I’ve traveled a fair bit & usually get a handle on things if getting sketchy. Just throwing the question out if anything of note to be aware of. Thanks
  21. Kinda a bummer, hopefully things get going in a more timely fashion. Has it ever been known to happen in spurts? Sadly, seems the delay trend has already been set.
  22. Welcome to the ‘journey’, it’s a slog, things don’t seem to happen fast. I’m going to visit next weekend, looking forward to it. I suggest poking around here some to get a feel for future steps. That’s what I do anyway.
  23. I cross borders a lot with my job. One 1st question, how does the Customs person know if your ring cost $500 or $6000? Do you need to tell everyone you paid the $6k? Just make sure everything is set to get through Customs. I personally wouldn’t worry any about the ring, don’t lose it. I’m sure you can look at the Customs website to find limits on goods & cash. I’ve taken/wore Rolex watches through Customs, no biggie. Now if one is trying to take 10 fakes to resell, that could be a problem. I’m taking a ring international next weekend, not as high $$ as yours, but I have zero concerns. YMMV, shouldn’t though.
