  1. okay, thank you so much for clearing this all up for me! I'll photo copy the stuff I  got today to have on file and Ill make sure my sticky fingers dont open the visa packet ahhh, Im not sure where to fill out the blank VJ I did fill stuff out in my profile as a thanks with the stuff I remembered. Im glad I also dont have to bring this with me since I was worried about the CD maybe snapping in half and the only reason I said that the CD was required for something was because of what Doctor Cheema told me in the email about them letting me know that they sent out my medical to me "Please note: The CDs will be required at the time of port of entry and vaccination sheet will be required at the time of adjustment of Status in the US ( GREEN CARD )."

  2. I was informed 2 days ago from where I got my medical exam from saying that they emailed my medical exam to the US Consulate Office and that they were sending me my chest Xray image CD and Vaccination sheet. When I got the package it was too big for my bag that I was taking to the interview and thought it would be okay to take it out of the purolator envelelope since I thought the actual envelope would be sealed but its not. Did I just screw myself over or am I okay? Its jsut said that the CD is required at the port of entry and vaccination sheet is required at the time of the AOS so I dont even need to bring these to my interview? Im so stressed now because I know something was suppose to remain unsealed and I dont even remember which one anymore.

  3. I have my Interview this coming January and it says that I need to provide my previous passports, I dont have my old passports anymore since I didnt really expect to be applying for a K1 visa from then especialy since I was a minor. I moved from the Philippines at 2011 to Canada and we got new Canadian passports I believe after becoming permanent residents, then at 2019 we applied to be Canadian Citizens and I reapplied for the canadian passport at 2021, I havent seen my Philippine Passport since we even moved here and I dont really know if its actually required, we only ever flew to Japan and Canada and didnt even leave the airport with my Philippine passport I believe aswell as flew within inside the Philippines

you should still see each other especially during the waiting process (every 2-3 months perfectly, but we all know that's impossible, so do it as much as you can) . That means that your relationship is real

Yea, in reality we'd prob see eachother a minimum once a year cus I have very controlling parents despite me being an adult, I had to fight my mom multiple times to visit him for the first time and see him after 4ish years this August while for him he also has protective parents and preferred that they meet me first before letting their son go alone anywhere outside of the country. Were both 23 but thats just been our situation unfortunately, hopefully it wont be too much of  problem. Weve met once before about 4-5 years ago but that was when we first met back when he went for his grad trip with his friends and we had mutual friends that introduced us but we didnt start dating until a year or 2 later since we've kept in touch since that day

K-1 takes 18 months give or take, from filing the initial I-129F petition to visa interview.  If you decide to get married and then go the I-130 petition/CR-1 spousal visa route, which has many advantages and is less expensive, the timeframe is about the same.  It doesn't make any difference that you're from Canada.  In fact, Montreal has had long waits for visa interviews in the past vs. many other countries.  You can visit each other during the long process.  Good luck!

oh gosh thats so long, I guess we arent going to be moving in by next year together like we wanted too, thank you!

How long ago did she do that? K-3's have been rendered obsolete for a while now, they are almost never issued anymore. If you file a K-3, they'll just close it out and switch it to a spousal visa application.

That's wrong, there's no process where you can submit the petition and then wait it out inside the US for a visa. There is adjustment of status for people who are already inside the US and then decide to change their status via marriage.

In both cases, married or not (K-1 or spousal visa), you'll have to wait for your visa to process before you can permanently move to the US. It's unfortunate but it's just the way things are with US immigration for spouses/fiances.

There are pros and cons to K-1 vs spousal visa. I will tag @Crazy Cat so he can share the breakdown for that.

I believe she said she applied for it a few years ago, and that she did it twice with 2 different people, not really sure about anything she said and I was skeptical of it and I was very unsure becasue I want to stay at the US legally and I dont want to commit any type of fraud, I feel like we'll just end up applying for the K-1 visa as its what works the best for us in the moment, we dow ant to be together ASAP but we also want atleast 9 months since the application before I move to the US to him so we can both save up/pay off any debts we owe

  7. While we are on the process of applying for the K-1 visa right now, one of my co workers told me that I could just fly to the US, get married, then aply for the K-3 visa, she said thats what she did when she was in the states but I feel like her info is wrong? Because if you were able to just do that, then there wouldnt really be a whole process to it, I want to apply for the K-3 visa so when we submit the application I can stay in the US (or that was my understanding of it, or am I thinking of a different visa?) while for the K-1 visa I would have to wait for it to be approved before I can move to the US and we would get 90 days to marry. We honestly just want to be together as soon as we can and the 7 months - 17 months wait for the K-1 visa sounds too long and too stressful, if we do choose to go down the K-1 visa route hopefully it wont take too long since I am from Canada and a Canadian CItizen

  8. yep! moving from Canada to the US, im also a Canadian Citizen, not really sure if that helps the application. This is going to take longer that we thought it would I guess, because when we decided that I was ready to me to him it said on the website that the process was about 7 months long, but I just looked it up yesterday and its now 15 months, hopefully it doesnt take that long though

  9. I have other evidence like our hotel stay itinerary and receipt of payment, aswell as we went to disneyland during that and the receipt shows both our names, im not sure if I should show the passes that came with it, I also have my flight itineraries, my I94, and we rented bird scooters during the trip too which needed my ID to register so I was thinking about using the receipt for that as evidence aswell

  10. Me and my fiance went to a photobooth called blababooth when I visited him, I wanted to know if it would be alright for me to provide them the link aswell as the code as one of my proofs, because blababooth keeps a record of the date it was take aswell as the video process of you getting the photos, it can be shared with just giving them the code but I wanted to know if it was ok to do so?
