The truth is, no one here knows whether or not you'll definitely get the visa, we have no way of knowing all of the facts of your case. As of now you're in AP and until all of the background checks are complete, you won't have an answer. Unfortunately, it's a waiting game at this point. I wish you the best, please keep us updated.

Refused is not denied
it is the status till a decision to approve or deny is made
I would imagine the form u were told to fill out was the ds 5535 an extensive security check will be done now and may take weeks , months or as long as a year
all u can do now is wait for the process to complete
it is a good thing they kept the passport
