    I presume he has a credit card or two as well? Def get added as a second/authorised user. That will give you some strong paperwork if needed but CRUCIALLY it also helps with getting your credit score set up which you need in the US, even more than in the U.K. None of your uk credit history transfers to US so it’s like you’ve just been born! Def look at that for multiple reasons.

    Which state are you in? Most (40 or so) require a SSN to apply for your DL but not all.

    you don’t! speeding tickets don’t have to be declared. I have several over the years, didn’t mention them and I have my green card without issue.

    as others have said, no impact, but don’t forget the winner doesn’t become president for over 2 months after the election anyway (Jan 20th 2025) so well after you’d enter the country it sounds like.

    hi just to point out you absolutely can get married on a tourist visit (ESTA) and many people on here, including me did exactly that. you just have to come home after your tourist visit and then file the proper paperwork to start the process to move

    it is almost the best thing you can buy!!! not only does it make entry WAY quicker and easier but you also get TSA pre check so security at the other side for departures is much quicker too. The best money I’ve ever spent!!! just remember you need an interview for global entry so you’ll need to factor that time/location into the mix too. But get it. Please. It’s superb!

    751 is to convert a temporary 2 yr green card into a ten yr one (remove conditions on it). If he has a ten yr one anyway there were no conditions to remove. You are fine

    just to add the visa and medical are linked so if you don’t enter within the 6 months of your current medical, you might need to reapply for visa as well to be reissued

    if you enter in January you have 90 days from that. Not when the medical is. You can arrive 179 days after the medical and you have 90 days to marry or you can enter 1 day (in theory) after the medical and you still have 90 days to marry. It will be the exact same and you have 90 days from that point. The medical becomes irrelevant once you step on US soil

    It will depend on country, but assuming Pakistan like your profile says, you’re probably looking at another 6-10 years.

    Of course. I was being a little unkind 🫢 but you’re right. It’s def a point to note for others. We chose CR1 primarily so I could carry on working/earning whilst our visa progressed. I have a good job/earn very good money and would’ve been a nightmare to be unable to carry that on. (Incidentally my employer was able to transfer me onto their US business once I had my visa, so I carried on that way. Would that be an option for you too?)

    there is nothing against you firing a gun, as a tourist (obv provided it’s done safety etc) many gun ranges (just about all in vegas!) will allow tourists to go and rent/shoot in them too, provided you have government ID (such as passport)

    why on earth would you try and create a problem?! It will take months for the form to be approved - what difference will a few days make?! I will be sending mine in 85 days before the deadline. And then sit back with a beer and chill.

    It could be. They choose not to, ultimately. May get even longer/slower with a change in president if that happens
