HELP, issue with filing I-130 online!
Cw1977 replied to ashleyrenee7's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
I think you’re more likely to be able to get in contact with Michael Jackson… Is it definitely not something else that’s causing the issue? All of those other address boxes are free text fields so shouldn’t have any issues with how or what you type. -
HELP, issue with filing I-130 online!

What bag can I bring to the Visa Interview?
Cw1977 replied to j26's topic in US Embassy and Consulate Discussion
They only let you take a small bag (like a handbag/purse sized) plus they’re very strict on liquids incl make up etc. MUCH more strict than even a plane (I think 1/3 size of what you’re allowed on plane. I remember seeing maybe 30ml?). As previously said, why risk it/create a problem. Leave at hotel left luggage and you’ll have no issue at all. -
shouldn’t be an issue but there’s always a chance. Just make sure you have strong ties back home e.g. house rent, job etc and evidence. I visited every 2-3 months on ESTA (for c2 wks at a time, some work some vacation) and wasn’t an issue at all.

I should add they’ll refuse it if you try hand things all together anyway plus you can’t know in advance exactly what they’ll ask to see.

sounds perfect. They’ll have no issue with you taking things out as requested. I took one of those files with plastic sleeves in with each document in a separate one so I could see etc. worked perfectly and I was only asked for maybe 5 of them dont over think it! If you’ve got the docs, whatever makes it easy for you to find the requested one is perfect.

if you look you’ll prob see “IV docs in CCD” written towards the bottom of your visa? Just above where it says about “serves as temporary i551” etc that means your docs are sent electronically - if you wanted some reassurance.
-
no. The photos are for use on your visa and green card. They just need to be right size and passport style (white background etc). No details on them

They don’t keep any originals at the medical in London. Will photocopy anything they need and hand back originals to you.

Help for bona fide marriage evidence
Cw1977 replied to Faisal-US's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
This is what we did (obv without the blanked out names bit). Very similar to previously mentioned. I just put the photo into a word doc, wrote where when and who was in it, then saved as pdf. Did about 20 pics in total across the years we'd been together. All approved without issue. (hopefully the pic opens ok) photos.pdf -
short answer is yes you technically can. But be ready to explain how you can afford that and travel for such long periods. I wouldn’t be surprised if you were taken into secondary inspection

NC DMV Asking for my I-94 for Real ID.
Cw1977 replied to Sudowpa2's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
It varies so much state to state. Your experience is the exact opposite to mine. I went last week to get my DL sorted (California) and the lady saw my temp i551 GC in passport (I actually have the card now anyway) and said do want the real ID too? That’s what I’d advise. so mine is being processed as real ID now, although I’d planned on using my GC as it anyway as mentioned above. -
this is definitely correct and the way it should work…however from my experience and others on here it sadly doesn’t always. If you’ve not received SSN after a while (suggest 3 wks), you can go to your local office and they process it for you. I had to do that - and it came about 9 days later so that’s your back up plan!

Return tickets vs one-way tickets
Cw1977 replied to matchakat's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
that’s exactly what I did (and I suspect many others too!). Technically it’s a breach of the ticket but if you don’t show up for the return, how do they know you just haven’t missed it, are sick etc. I’ve never heard anyone having issues missing/skipping the return. If you’re really bothered avoid airlines you’re a frequent flier with and/or might use regularly but ultimately you won’t have any issues either way. I’ve done that 3 times in the last few years (2 out of my control when plans have changed/I’ve missed the return) and not had any issues at all or ever heard from the airline. -
SSN Not Yet Received
Cw1977 replied to MIRN's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
Oh and I haven’t received my actual green card either! Paid my fee 2 wks before I entered but mine still just shows fee received. sounds like I have about as much luck as you!!! -
SSN Not Yet Received
Cw1977 replied to MIRN's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
I entered on 26th Oct and waited just under 3 wks but mine didn’t come either. Went to local office and they confirmed it had never been produced. however they sorted it in about 20 mins there and I received it in the post about 9 days later. Not a big issue (although remember all your id etc and temp green card in passport) -
Get a phone number/ a car
Cw1977 replied to fabsfabs's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
Does your partner have a phone/contract? You can often just add another line really easily to that plan and quickly too (we did that same day I arrived in the T-Mobile store) -
Hi. How did it go? Were they positive about his case?

What is the next step after Green Card
Cw1977 replied to fabsfabs's topic in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
It’s supposed to come automatically after you enter in about 10-14 days. However this is dependant on the entry agent clicking something correctly on their screen as they process you (apparently happens less than you’d hope…) Anyway I didn’t get mine after waiting 3 wks so went to my local SSN office and they processed it - I got it 8 days later -
Agreed. I was just highlighting its normally that kind of thing. Much more than just what qualification you hold
