Hi guys,

After almost two months of administrative processing, my visa was finally issued, per the status update on CEAC today. I am looking forward to getting my passport back next week.

Of course, EB visas is very different comparing to CR/IR.

Administrative processing is different from such CEAC status. My status is "Refused" with a long text block below, which will remain until its completion, with "Administrative processing" -> "Approved" statuses if successful or "Refused" with a shorter text block if not.

Economics and management in Mechanical Engineering and second is Computer Software information security. Both fall into STEM. No scholarly activities, articles, or research.

Even if you provide resume during interview, CO ask to wait for the email and reply in that email. That is very common.

CO may not be very technical to understand your education/work experience related to TAL (cybersecurity, may be AI is also added recently). May be they forwarded your resume to DC office for clearance.

Asking for resume is something that was introduced in 2016/2017 or may be earlier. The visa has annotation like "Clearance received on <date>" .

Hoping your case will be resolved quickly as they did not ask for DS-5535

For sure the CO might not be an industry professional most likely, and it is why I attached the CV as the first exhibit to my petition, so USCIS guys or anyone on the way before the interview were able to review it.

I asked him about administrarive processing location - will it be in the Consulate or in DC and got the direct answer - "definetely in DC".

Anyway, the main part is done, and according to the russian forums, some guys with EB1/EB2 with CV requested during the interview are waiting for 6-8-12-18 months already, only a few got the approval right after the interview.

Actually I was almost sure it will happen, since yes, I am an exec business manager and a software developer (at the same time), with cybersecurity education, doing AI programming, from Russia and so on. Suppose I hit TAL flags at least twice if not more. The sad thing, that full CV is attached as Exhibit #1 with my Petition, so they had the opporunity to check everything many times, considering I was waiting for an interview since May. But the process is process, seems nobody really touched it before the interview.

The only thing I hoped to avoid it is 15+ years of working for US IT global company and a lot of B1/B2 visas and travels over years, every time issued without any delays and APs.

I had my interview today in Almaty, it went well enough. The CO was very friendly and asked many different questions to confirm my eligibility, but slightly limited me in answering by asking the next question, so I missed some points that looked important to me.
 
In the end, I was informed about the administrative processing required with the white slip 221(g) requesting my CV and the list of publications, despite the fact they were both included as the exhibits to the petition (I did it myself, without an attorney, so sure it contains everything needed). I pointed to that fact as they were laying in front of the CO, but got the expected answer that I should send them by e-mail in MS Word format anyway (not in pdf to make further copy/paste easier!). Moreover, all exhibits to my petition (more than 600 pages) were returned to me after the interview; only the petition itself and some civil documents copies I sent to NVC stayed at the Consulate.

I sent the requested data to the Consulate a few minutes later from the hotel, and now it seems long months of waiting have begun...

Hello All,

Today, my family & I attended the interview in Almaty. The medical exam done in IOM Moscow was accepted without any issues. It was fully electronic, with only one visit to IOM for the examination. As for the (notarized) copies - as planned, I have no copies with me, but the printed e-mail with the Consulate's approval to my request to undergo medical in Moscow and bring the originals only since the certified translated copies were sent to the NVC earlier.

That print was reviewed at the first step (by the receptionist welcoming the visitors) with no objections or questions in the later stages. The lady in the window just requested the originals one by one for each family member and stamped the copies I sent earlier to the NVC.

Everything went smoothly and was very friendly, but I was put into administrative processing, which is, unfortunately, common for my visa type and often takes many months to a year.

I will have my medical in Moscow on Nov 10 and interview in Almaty on Nov 21.

I mailed to the Consulate directly and got no answer. Then opened the case via US Traveldocs portal (US Visa Service center). The ask was escalated to the Consulate and their answer (10 days later) returned to me.

The ask was to allow medical exam in Moscow for the interview in Almaty. The medical exam in Almaty is supposed by default, no need to ask the Consulate about it.

I asked the Almaty Consulate about it directly, since all the documents sent to NVC are with the certified translation, while the KZ web site states "notarized".

The reply was: "If you already submitted certified translations for all your civil documents then it is enough to bring just the originals."

It is published officially on the Warsaw Consulate's website. The pdf file with the information regarding medical examination having four locations - Poland, Belarus, Russia, Ukraine.

According to the russian forums, a few persons asked the Consulate in Almaty to undergo the exam in Moscow. Somebody got OK, many other - decline or silence in response. I was lucky, my family and I got the permission to do it in IOM Moscow to optimize the logistic, waited 10 days after the ask.

To be clear for other readers - It is not allowed by default for Almaty and only up to the Consulate to give the permission if asked. The default location is the IMC clinic in Almaty.

I am waiting for the exam there on Nov 10th. Suppose it will be an envelope, as I discussed with them the date of documents to be ready in regard to my interview date in Almaty. So they responded that I could pick up the results four days after the exam (kids IGRA blood test will take time, should be faster for adults only).

There are a few Russian forums, but for the US visa questions they are touching other countries only in relation to current situation since the US Embassy Moscow is not issuing any visas from 2021, thus Russians are routed to Warsaw by default (except a few IV visa classes) as it is the designated processing Consulate for Russians.

Since Poland is very hard to reach now for most applicants, a few more options to transfer cases to another countries exists and Turkey was discussed a few times among others, but as the worse option due to the long queue.

How long ago in the past? Most consulates are getting through their backlogs and times are getting quicker. The current time for spouse visas in Ankara seems to be around 4-5 months, so hopefully it will be quicker than a year for @Aya2538 although I can't find any threads for EB applicants there.

As I read, a case moved from Warsaw to Ankara in the beginning of 2022 and still was waiting at the time of my reading (April-May 2023).

According to a forum I read in the past, at least one guy with EB1 was waiting for more than an year after the DQ, unfortunately.
