  • Our Story
Met during mid COVID on an international dating site. When lockdown rules lessened, we decided to meet for the first time. Meeting in London Heathrow Airport, then flying to Greece for a week long break together. We dated for a year before we decided we knew we wanted to be together and start a life together.

We eloped and got married in North Carolina and the rest is history. Applied for our CR-1 spousal visa on August 6th 2022 and we're not going through the process.

  1. Chiming in because I went through the medical with very visible scars, mental health hospitalisations and a suicide attempt. You will have to explain the scars if the Doctor sees them when giving you your physical exam. Since they're old and you don't have a recorded history of poor mental health. The best bet would be to go see your GP, explain the situation. They'll be able to see how old the scars are. Ask the GP for a medical letter stating that to their knowledge, your mental health is stable, your history of self harm was at x age and to their knowledge they feel you pose no harm to yourself or others. They'll only write what they feel is accurate and given how the scars will have faded and you have nothing in your medical file, they should feel comfortable writing something to the effect of above. It'll likely cost you. There isn't a lot you can do without any documented medical intervention. Which could actually work in your favor. You could have your parents write a letter, it won't hurt. Though they'll want facts and medical opinion. Happy Thursday from rainy Florida!
  2. So I'm 11 months into my CR-1 application. Married to a US Citizen and I'm based in the UK. Currently waiting for USCIS to approve my application to pass NVC. Though hopeful this will be sometime this year. In regards to the purpose of my post. I have some questions regarding the medical exam. More so what specifically do I take to the exam. This would be in the UK. I've read the list of what to bring, though it doesn't necessarily mention anything regarding medical history. I have a mental health condition, EUPD. I also have a past history of self harm and a hospitalisation. The last incidence of self harm being more than 3 years ago. My GP would be happy to write me a letter of support detailing my mental health condition. That my condition is stable and has a positive outlook. That I am not a harm to myself and have never been a harm to others. Though other than a letter, what other form of paperwork would the examiner want to see? Would they want dates of when the self harm occured? Would they want dates of hospitalisation? On the medical questionnaire it asks about any health conditions, hospitalisations, if you've ever caused injury to yourself or others and medications. Then asks to use a separate sheet to go into further detail. Would the, 'separate sheet', be where I include the letter from my GP and detail the medical history relating to the questions. Could this also be in the form of my GP detailing the history? Or would they want a copy of my medical history. If anyone could give me some advice or detail their personal experience if similar, it would be much appreciated.
