Now given your port of entry will be Abu Dhabi, if you lose your extension letter, you might be cursing my advice to use that route. But then again, it is on you, not me, for losing such a valuable document.
And why so?

Worse. She forgot to bring the extension letter.
She eventually got on the plane without the boarding foil. I sent her a pdf scan of the extension letter that she printed at a hotel. The airline allowed her on with that copy.
I feel like my main concern was the Port of Entry

Longer, at least for Iceland. 10-14 days when I asked about it during my wife's travel drama.
Did she lose her documents or what? What did she need a boarding foil?

Have a safe flight! I transited through Turkey about a month ago. Used GC + extension letter on Turkish Airlines. No issues whatsoever. However, I understand the risk of being denied was there for sure. Though I travelled within Europe and and I have a pretty strong passport to my advantage.
Thanks. Hopefully, I wont have any problem cuz I am using Etihad airlines. What's your home country?

Since it only 2 weeks, I think it is safe to book a single round trip ticket between the U.S. and Pakistan, on Etihad, Qatar, or Emirates.
I like Etihad for this because of CBP pre-clearance in Abu Dhabi. You will get processed by CBP in Abu Dhabi, and if there is any confusion about your extension letter, Etihad in Pakistan might have experience getting a hold of CBP in Abu Dhabi to answer questions.
Thanks I just booked with Etihaad Airways

Emirates or Qatar Airways over TK.
You can go for a “short trip”
If you are gone for months ….
I would book a round trip between U.S. and Doha, and a round trip between Doha and Pakistan.
* Doha because your passport lets you visit Qatar.
* Two round trips because you do not want Pakistan’s immigration department to figure out you are an LPR.
Worst case a boarding foil. These seem to take a week now.
No, I am only going for two weeks.
So, if I book a flight with Qatar airways, it's usually from the US to Doha and from Doha to Pakistan. Would that be okay?

You have one of the weakest passports, and you are going to a country whose national immigration department is notorious for making it difficult for LPRs to leave Pakistan. So, a boarding foil is the only answer I see, short of you piloting a private boat to American shores.
And no doubt flying Turkish Airlines, which is notorious for denying boarding to LPRs with extension letters. I
* Stay under 180 days outside the U.S.* Give yourself plenty of time to get a boarding foil in the event Pakistan’s immigration department or TK airlines refuses to let you board.
So, I shouldn't go? I haven't booked the flight yet. Maybe I should book with Emirates?

Depends.
1. To what country are you traveling?
2. What is your country of citizenship?
Pakistan

But transit would be Turkey for one day

Yes. That is my understanding.
I'll ask my attorney tomorrow but because the flights are getting expensive, I need to book today. Haven't been to my home country ever since I got here.

I am not an expert in that area. My understanding is that the embassy can issue you a boarding foil if you need travel back to the US under some circumstances. The copies of GC and extension would serve as evidence to the embassy of your status if needed. Just my courteous opinion.
Hm. I researched. Seems like Boarding Foil can help come back to the US in case something happens

One option would be to get a boarding foil from local consulate office. Carry a copy of Green Card and Extension letter in a separate place from originals.
What's a boarding foil? Do they accept copies?

I am planning to travel to my home country next week. My GC is expired and I have a 48 months extension letter. I called to get an infopass stamp but they said I dont need it because of the extension letter. I am just thinking about the worst case scenario. What happens if one loses their documents? What are the options to come back?
My i751 Journey- Extreme Cruelty and Hardship case
in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
Posted · Edited by NY Immigrant
Hello everyone,
I'm writing this message to offer support and guidance to anyone who may be going through a similar situation. In 2019, I came to the US on a CR1 visa and applied for the removal of conditions with my spouse in 2020. Unfortunately, our relationship was marked by numerous challenges, including issues with his parents and verbal abuse. Despite the difficult circumstances, I remained in the relationship due to a complex cycle of love and abuse.
However, just one day before my interview, my ex served me with divorce papers, and I learned that he had prepared them three months earlier without informing me. I immediately sought legal assistance by hiring an attorney. She amended the petition, adding extreme cruelty and hardship waivers instead of pursuing a lengthy divorce process. The well-prepared case led to my approval without the need for an interview.
It's important for me to share my story to encourage anyone facing abuse, whether emotional or physical, to seek help. By hiring an attorney and properly filing your case, you can navigate this difficult situation. If your marriage was genuine and in good faith, there is a good chance you'll be approved.
I'm currently quite busy as I'm in the process of moving to another state, but I wanted to leave this message here for those who may benefit from my experience. Don't lose hope and fight for your case! You'll win if you're intentions are pure, and you have the right assistance.
Overall petition took 33 months and after filing the amendment it took 1 year and 7 months. So overall 33 months.
I am located in New York currently.
