  1. Confused
Igor&Veronika got a reaction from igoyougoduke in I 693 request
Good evening. I filled a petition and adjustment of status for my mum who was currently in US in August 2019.  In a month she was called for biometrics and today Dec.23 we got a request to send I-+693 (Medical examination and vaccination). I was under impression that USCIS should send a list of med.facilities which perform necessary services and fill that form? And it should be free of charge as part of the I485 package. Am I right?

Yes it is alone is enough to be readmitted to the US after traveling abroad. Your wife is free to visit her relative.
One more thing: If her EAD/AP card (a.k.a. combo card) has her married name on it but her passport still has her maiden name, she should carry a certified copy of marriage certificate with her as well as a proof that both name belongs to her.
You can change your "immigration status" on your profile by clicking on your username in the upper right corner, then "My Settings" --> "Profile Settings" (General Account Settings) ---> "Immigration Info" -----> "Immigration Status" ----> select "Adjustment of Status (pending)". Please change this because you are not adjusting from K1 visa, and your current status is pending AOS.
    Good luck!

It says you filed I-131. Why don't she use it?

    Hi,
is the I 131 Advance Parole already expired? She can use that if not.
If you have been waiting more than a year means that something is wrong and the mail is lost. Have you change address during that year?

Why does your profile says that you filed for a K-1 visa? Change it to "Adjustment Of Status (Pending)". Your wife is adjusting from a tourist visa, not K1.

You mentioned that your wife received the EAD (I-765, Employment Authorization Document). Since she applied for AP (I-131) as well I suppose that she received the combo card. Her EAD (combo card) should say in the bottom "Valid for reentry to US". And that allows her to go and visit her terminally ill relative.

She could use the card to travel outside of the U.S. and will be paroled into the states within the validity of the card. I used mine last summer to travel back to Hk. Upon returning, I waited in the visitor queue. An immigration officer took me for secondary inspection ( checking if my i485 is still pending ) and stamped my passport with a PAROLE stamp( which is cool cuz it's different from regular passport stamp ). The only issue I had was the customs guy saw the parole stamp on my declaration ticket and loudly said " Ohhhhhhh. You are on PAROLE ?" Many people waiting in line heard that and I just hoped they dont think I am a criminal.
Anyway , she's safe to go and safe to return of course
