  1. Update to this old post. I ended up buying a fully refundable ticket over 1 month in advance to get a good deal.  Interview went well and received our visa within 5 days after interview.  Glad we planned ahead to save a little time and money.  Wish everyone still waiting the best of luck.  Was a super long process, but glad it is over.

good to hear that, my status changed to ready today, I am hoping for a reply tomorrow

for the CIB payment is the visa fee currently $265 and is paid in Egyptian pounds EGP 8745 according to current exchange rates
you need to generate a DEPOSIT SLIP through creating account on https://www.ustraveldocs.com/eg/ and selecting new application and follow the instructions to access the payment slip
please note that you will need to do the DS160 before generating the slip as they will ask you to add the application ID
you can read more information on their website about paying the fees https://www.ustraveldocs.com/eg/eg-niv-paymentinfo.asp

I am confused about this part because after paying and entering the Receipt Number we should be able to select interview appointment date, but according to previous people on this forum the embassy should give you interview date and time on packet 4 email together with medical instructions, I can't see beyond this page so I don't know if we are able to schedule our interview date or not, please let me know

The medical instructions came with the email I received from embassy today.  Guessing this is packet 3.  Doesn’t have a title or anything, just an email with list of everything to do to move forward.

    congrats on “ready” status

    hello,
previous people went through Egypt embassy, they said the embassy will not contact you, you need to send them an email to get packet 3 instructions from them
as @Mahmir said you need to send an email to cairoiv@state.gov asking for further instructions.
my papers are on route to the embassy still not ready yet, I sent them an email yesterday but still no response,
let me know if they respond to you

Just got a reply today with instructions to move forward!  I do have a question about the CIB payment.  How do we go about this?

    Hi!

I just put my NVC case number on the website and the status is “ready”. Can I submit the DS-160 already or I need to wait until I receive a mail from the Embassy?

I didn’t do the doctor part yet.
    Sorry. I’m confused. 😅

    Thanks!!!

Yes you can submit your DS-160 form. You can’t schedule medical until you receive packet 4 with instructions from embassy.

I think the best thing to do is talk to a Tier 2 agent, if they don't help out, hang up and try again. Also get your Congress person involved if possible.

It varies, based on each embassy location. But from what I've read, its rather quick after its been received and marked as "Ready". I would e-mail your embassy and ask them to e-mail you the packet if possible. I'm still waiting for my case to go from "In Transit" to "Ready". Its been 14 days since it went into Transit. :(

Hope you get some good news with a “ready” status update soon.

Ahhh glad you found an answer! My question was more how long before it changes from at NVC to in transit on CEAC website… either way nothing I can do. It was either shipped or it wasnt yesterday.

Yes the regional forums are great for the embassy phase I’m seeing.

Mine changed to “in transit” the same day I got my email with new nvc case number.  Hope you see some progress soon.

Thank you for your reply.  I just emailed my embassy, hoping to hear something soon.  I asked for further instructions for packet #3 and for scheduling interview.  Will update when I hear a response.  My timeline is updated now.

I think that depends on your embassy…did you try the regional forums for your consulate?

But I came here to ask how long after your case was shipped did the CEAC status change to in transit? I saw two cases that went to my consulate but hard to know if we are among them 😓😓 as CEAC still says “at NVC”.

    anyone know?

Thank you for your reply.  I did look in my regional forum and received an answer. In my embassy’s case you have to contact them.  My case was “in transit” for 8 days before it changed to “ready.”

Hello and happy day to all! I'm new here, and I could need some help with my situation. My wife submitted my F2A on my behalf. She has a green card and is currently employed in the USA. Getting police clearance in every country I've worked with is one of the difficult prerequisites. Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Macao, and Dubai are the nations. First, I'd want to talk about Saudi Arabia because it's quite challenging since I don't have my iqama copy already and KSA is a very strict country as we all know. I am confident that this is achievable, but because I am currently in the Philippines, could you kindly advise where I should begin? advice me, pls.

Did you write an affidavit and get notarized about not being able to obtain the Saudi certificate of police clearance?  I am at this stage right now and just read about not being able to get a certificate there if not a resident.  Thanks

Same boat. We got approved after almost 15 months, and now the additional 3 for NVC transfer. Which I could accept if I didn't have to worry about being left behind entirely without any help like poor @Bloomingdale

What's got me worried is that NVC research has not bothered replying to any of our inquiries (we've sent two since mid May, NOA2 and general information included of course), and all the USCIS keeps telling us is that our case hasn't been sent out. The deadline for Tier 2 to call us back is approaching fast too, wonder if that'll happen.

Hope you hear something soon.  I would send another inquiry to nvc.  Keep on them until you get a response.
