    Booked my flights (non-refundable, return, a flexible ticket would have cost me around 3.3k compared to the £700 non-refundable so I went with non-refundable just in case I needed that extra money before I went). Happy to lose out on a bit of money, very excited to go!

    Book with the airline.  It's much easier and in the event of cancellation or other potential issues, the airline can assist you; 3rd party sellers often leave you stranded.  
     
    Agree, too, with pay a bit extra and get a refundable ticket.  Might be a bit before you can go anywhere but having that credit on your airline account is better than a big ole kick in the behind!

    Thank you so much for the heads up. What I'll do is make a note in my phone to cancel the return leg a couple of days after I land, and to make sure I keep the cancellation confirmation along with my other visa documents to ensure I have valid proof of this too should this occur during my AOS.

    I cancelled online. 
    If you book directly with the airline you can cancel online.
    If you book from another site/agent you need to call them

    I was same. At medical in London they do a visual check to see if you have scars from chicken pox (I didn’t as it was 35 yrs ago!) so they do a blood test and you get results a few days later. If you have the immunity antibodies from that, no further action needed. If not, you need to arrange a vax, locally. 
     
    nothing to worry about either way though.
